High body mass index (BMI) is an important risk factor for female colon and rectal, ovarian, and uterine cancers. Current comprehensive studies on its effects on these cancers are limited. This paper aims to explore regional and age differences in the impact of high BMI on these cancers and the commonalities among the three by using the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021.

Non‑small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for 85% of all cases of lung cancer cases. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) with L858R/T790M mutations are commonly found in clinical practice and usually results in resistance to first- and second-generation epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs). Osimertinib is currently the first-line treatment choice for patients with EGFR L858R/T790M mutations, however, as to other EGFR-TKIs, resistance inevitably occurs.

Feiyanning formula (FYN) is a traditional Chinese medicine formula developed through years of clinical practice. However, the specific mechanisms by which FYN and its extract inhibit drug resistance in lung cancer remain unclear.

Many viruses induce oxidative stress and degrade peroxisomes, but the mechanisms and consequences remain unclear. In this study, we systematically investigate how virus-induced pexophagy regulates peroxisome homeostasis.

The herbal formulation Kang-Ai-Jing-Fang (KAJF) has been employed clinically against CRC for several decades, although its precise mechanism of action remains elusive.
Purpose: This study investigates the anti-metastatic potential of KAJF in CRLM, focusing on its modulatory effects on gut microbiota and inhibition of M2-like macrophage activation.
Background: Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality all over the world, with high rates of locoregional recurrence and distant metastasis even after curative-intent surgical resection. The mechanisms of the tumor microenvironment's role in supporting metastasis through the formation of pre-metastatic niches are crucial areas of investigation.
Methods: Lung metastasis models were established by injecting Lewis lung cancer cells (LLCs) into the tail vein of 20 specific pathogen free (SPF)-grade male C57BL/6 mice.
Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) ranks among the most common gastrointestinal cancers globally, with both its incidence and mortality rates showing an upward trend. In particular, the 5-year survival rate for stage IV CRC patients is only 14%. Conventional treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy can lead to drug resistance, exacerbate gastrointestinal function damage, and induce immunosuppression.

Patients And Methods: This study employed a longitudinal observational design. The MDASI and QLQ-C30 were utilized to evaluate symptoms and QoL one day before surgery, as well as at 1 day, 2 weeks, and 1, 2, and 3 months post-surgery.
Background: Fei Yanning Formula (FYN) is extensively applied in clinical lung cancer treatment. However, the specific active constituents and targets of its therapeutic effects remain unclear.
Objective: The study aims to explore the active constituents and mechanism of FYN in delaying osimertinib resistance by network pharmacology analysis and experimental verification.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of the early growth response gene 1 (EGR1) in inducing senescence in lung cancer cells by Qidongning Formula (QDF). Cell-Counting-Kit-8 was used to study the effect of QDF on A549 and NCI-H1975 cells proliferation. Senescence-associated β-galactosidase (SA-β-GAL) staining was used to examine the effect of QDF on cellular senescence.

Background: With an increasing number of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients being offered surgical treatment, postoperative rehabilitation is also being increasingly emphasized. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) holds promise for enhancing postoperative recovery, with treatment methods still in refinement. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of Chinese herbal decoction and Liuzijue exercises in NSCLC patients during the rapid postoperative recovery period.

Primary and secondary resistance to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) reduces its efficacy. The mechanisms underlying immunotherapy resistance are highly complex. In non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), these mechanisms are primarily associated with the loss of programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression, genetic mutations, circular RNA axis and transcription factor regulation, antigen presentation disorders, and dysregulation of signaling pathways.

This study pioneered a novel TLS quantification system for prognostic and therapeutic response prediction in colorectal carcinoma, alongside a comprehensive depiction of the TLS landscape. Utilizing single-cell sequencing, we established a TLS score within the Tumor Immune Microenvironment (TIME).

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of Longteng Tongluo recipe (, LTTL) combined with three-step analgesia for the treatment of lung cancer pain, and the changes in serum miRNA expressions before- and after treatment with LTTL and its correlation with lung cancer pain. The possible mechanism underlying LTTL effects on the treatment of lung cancer pain was conducted.
Methods: The pilot study was conducted at the oncology ward of the Yueyang Hospital and the Longhua Hospital between March 2018 and October 2019.
Background: Gut microbiota (GM) and metabolic alterations play pivotal roles in lung cancer (LC) development and host genetic variations are known to contribute to LC susceptibility by modulating the GM. However, the causal links among GM, metabolite, host genes, and LC remain to be fully delineated.
Method: Through bidirectional MR analyses, we examined the causal links between GM and LC, and utilized two-step mediation analysis to identify potential mediating blood metabolite.
Objective: To investigate whether the combination of chemotherapy with staged Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) therapy could enhance health-related quality of life (QoL) in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients and prolong the time before deterioration of lung cancer symptoms, in comparison to chemotherapy alone.
Methods: A prospective, double-blind, randomized, controlled trial was conducted from December 14, 2017 to August 28, 2020. A total of 180 patients with stage I B-IIIA NSCLC from 5 hospitals in Shanghai were randomly divided into chemotherapy combined with CHM (chemo+CHM) group (120 cases) or chemotherapy combined with placebo (chemo+placebo) group (60 cases) using stratified blocking randomization.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a prevalent malignancy with high mortality rates and poor prognosis. Shikonin (SHK) has demonstrated extensive anti-tumor activity across various cancers, yet its clinical application is hindered by poor solubility, limited bioavailability, and high toxicity. This study aims to develop SHK-loaded exosomes (SHK-Exos) and assess their efficacy in CRC progression.
