A novel palladium-catalyzed asymmetric aminomethylative pyridonation of conjugated dienes with -acetals and 2-hydroxypyridines was established, which provided a direct and reliable method for the synthesis of a wide range of γ-aminated N-substituted 2-pyridones with good to excellent enantioselectivities. The simple BF was identified as an effective cocatalyst to improve the reaction efficiency, and DFT calculations revealed that proton transfer between the aminomethylated allylic palladium species and 2-hydroxypyridine promoted by BF is crucial for obtaining good reactivity.

Sulfone reagents have emerged as highly versatile coupling partners in transition-metal catalysis, owing to their exceptional reactive flexibility. However, current C-SO activation strategies in sulfone reagents remain constrained to introducing single- or double-electron acceptors onto the departing sulfonyl moieties, which inadvertently diminishes the reactivity of the resulting sulfinate and prevents its reutilization. To tackle the long-standing dichotomy between C-SO bond cleavage and reconstruction, we report a neighboring nitrogen-directed C-SO activation strategy, thereby inventing a novel aminomethyl sulfone reagent.

Although hydrogel electrolytes have attracted much attention in flexible supercapacitors, the interfacial contact between the electrolyte and electrode is a key factor restricting the development of supercapacitors. In this work, we constructed a hydrogel supercapacitor by endowing the hydrogel electrolyte with excellent adhesion properties and adopting an interfacial integration strategy, which effectively improves the interfacial contact problem. A multifunctional PCL hydrogel was successfully prepared with excellent tensile properties (1976 %) and self-healing ability through the semi-interpenetrating network formed by carboxymethyl cellulose sodium and polyacrylamide chains, as well as multiple physical interactions.

To improve the issue of the decreased toughness and electrical performance of epoxy resin (EP) in thermal shock environments, we prepared thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU)-filled modified EP composites. We also studied the mechanical and electrical performance of these composites, which had different TPU filling contents, under thermal shock conditions. Here, we report a palladium-catalyzed enantioselective ring-closing aminoalkylative amination of aminoenynes enabled by rationally tuning the remote electronic property of 1,1'-binaphthol-derived phosphoramidites. With a tailored 6,6'-CN-substituted 1,1'-binaphthol-derived phosphoramidite as a ligand, a broad range of aromatic amines are compatible with this reaction, allowing the efficient synthesis of a series of enantioenriched exocyclic allenylamines bearing saturated N-heterocycles with up to >99% enantiomeric excess.
