Soft  tissue sarcomas (STS) are heterogeneous malignancies with high recurrence rates (33-39%) post-surgery, necessitating improved prognostic tools. This study proposes a fusion model integrating deep transfer learning and radiomics from MRI to predict postoperative STS recurrence. Axial T2-weighted fat-suppressed imaging (TWI) of 803 STS patients from two institutions was retrospectively collected and divided into training (n = 527), internal validation (n = 132), and external validation (n = 144) cohorts.

Background: The lunge is a critical movement in badminton, facilitating rapid and efficient court coverage and enabling players to promptly reach the hitting position. While previous studies have examined the influence of lunge direction on lower limb biomechanics, the effects of gender have yet to be explored. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the combined effects of direction and gender on lower limb biomechanics during forehand and backhand forward lunges in amateur badminton players.

Indole propionic acid (IPA) is a functional indole derivative produced exclusively by intestinal flora through tryptophan metabolism. Numerous studies have shown that IPA has a variety of beneficial biological functions, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, immunomodulation, intestinal barrier protection, regulation of intestinal flora composition, and neuroprotection. IPA, as an intestinal microbial metabolite, actively participates in the establishment of intestinal immune homeostasis and positively influences the prevention and control of intestinal diseases, thereby playing an indispensable role in regulating host health.

Background: Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a frequently observed pulmonary manifestation in juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM), and may significantly impact patient outcomes. Therefore, early lung involvement identification is essential. Radiomics is a new image analysis technique and might offer valuable information for the diagnosis of interstitial lung disease in juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM-ILD).

Synchronous abatement of NO and VOCs is essential for mitigating ozone and PM pollution, yet balancing NH-SCR and VOCs oxidation concurrently at low temperature remains challenging. Herein, an organic ligand-oriented strategy was used to modulate nanostructure and chemistry properties of MOFs-derived spinel CoMnO by carboxylate-based MIL-101 and imidazolate-based ZIF as precursors, achieving low-temperature synergistic removal of NO and toluene. CoMn/ZIF shows a porous, sheet-like morphology characterized by stacked nanosheets forming an open, interconnected framework.

A case report of primary mucinous adenocarcinoma of the thymus and review of the literature.

Thymic mucinous adenocarcinoma is an extremely rare and aggressive malignant tumor of the thymus with a very low 5-year survival rate. Here, we report a case of surgically resected primary mucinous adenocarcinoma of the thymus in a patient in his 60s who was admitted to the hospital with chest tightness for 2 weeks. The patient underwent median sternotomy and thymectomy, including resection of the brachiocephalic vein and partial resection of the superior vena cava wall.

However, the disease characteristics and maternal-neonatal outcomes of this comorbidity remain largely unknown. In this study, we collected peripheral blood samples from 42 pregnant women, including pregnant controls without complications (Control, n = 10), GDM (n = 12), PE (n = 10), and those with coexistence of GDM and PE (PG, n = 10), as well as partial neonatal cord blood samples.

Objective: To compare the effects of piriformis muscle release versus preservation in total hip arthroplasty (THA) via supercapsular percutaneously-assisted total hip (SuperPATH) approach on muscle injury.

Methods: Forty-nine patients undergoing initial THA via SuperPATH approach between June 2022 and June 2023 were randomly divided into two groups, with 24 patients in trial group and 25 patients in control group. The trial group received piriformis muscle release intraoperatively, whereas the control group underwent muscle preservation.

We introduce a cost-effective hybrid cloud Data Lake architecture for storing clinical genomic data from different vendors, aiding both clinical and research workflows.
