Objective: Prostate cancer (PCa) continues to be a major cause of cancer-related mortality globally, underscoring the critical need for novel therapeutic strategies. This study investigates the oncogenic function of miR-10b-5p in PCa progression and evaluates its potential as both a diagnostic marker and therapeutic target.
Methods: miR-10b-5p was initially identified as a candidate oncogene through bioinformatic analysis of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) PCa data, followed by validation of its expression levels in clinical PCa specimens via fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).
Pain is the hallmark symptom of sickle cell disease (SCD). By adolescence, 20% of youth with SCD develop chronic SCD pain. Our randomized controlled trial found significant reductions in pain in youth receiving digital cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) vs education control.

There are no tools measuring SDM in pediatrics from multiple perspectives. The objective of this study was to develop a tool to measure SDM from the perspectives of both clinicians and parents of young children.

This study investigated the effects of temperature and duration on the sensory attributes and metabolite profiles of 'Dawei' hazelnuts. Sensory evaluation identified optimal roasting conditions (110 °C_150 min, 130 °C_50 min, 150 °C_35 min) that balanced nutty aroma, color, and texture.

Current TIME evaluation relies on invasive biopsies, limiting its clinical application. This study hypothesized that computed tomography (CT)-based deep learning (DL) radiomics models can non-invasively predict key TIME biomarkers: Tumor-stroma ratio (TSR), tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), and immune score (IS).

To enhance MSCNN's feature extraction ability, computational efficiency, and model robustness, this study conducts an in-depth investigation of these architectural deficiencies and proposes corresponding improvements. At present, there are some problems in multi-path architecture, such as isolated information among paths, low efficiency of feature fusion mechanism, and high computational complexity.

However, there are still cases of ineffective treatment. B-cell lymphoma 6 (Bcl6), a transcriptional suppressor, is known to have regulatory effects on multiple immune-associated cell subsets.

However, evidence on how psychosocial changes in response to acute pain influence CPSP development in adolescents is limited. In this 6-month longitudinal study, adolescents undergoing spinal fusion were assessed presurgery, monitored for 30 days postsurgery, and re-evaluated at 8 weeks and 6 months.

KRAS is the most frequently mutated oncogene and its mutational activation drives approximately 25 % of human cancers. Son of Sevenless 1 (SOS1) plays a pivotal role in the KRAS signaling pathway through catalyzing the conversion of inactive GDP-bound KRAS to active GTP-bound KRAS, and is thus considered as a promising target for pan-KRAS inhibition. Currently, four KRAS-specific inhibitors, namely sotorasib, adagrasib, fulzerasib and garsorasib, have garnered regulatory approval.

RNA polymerase II (RNA Pol II) gradually initiates ZGA in mice, but regulation in late-ZGA species remains unclear. Here, RNA Pol II profiling in bovine embryos identified strong intergenic clusters that boost minor ZGA gene expression via chromatin interactions and are named super RNA Pol II domains (SPDs).

Objective: To evaluate the effect of a tiered vaccine communication strategy on children of parents with negative vaccine attitudes.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This cluster randomized clinical trial was conducted from September 1, 2019, to March 31, 2023, at primary care pediatric clinics in Colorado (n = 12) and Washington State (n = 12).
Purpose: Adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with advanced cancer (AC) report poor quality of life (QOL), high psychological distress, and minimal engagement in health care discussions. We assessed the effect of a novel resilience coaching program (Promoting Resilience in Stress Management [PRISM]-AC) on AYA outcomes.
Methods: We conducted a multisite randomized trial of PRISM-AC versus usual care (UC) among AYAs age 12-24 years, diagnosed with AC within 2 weeks before enrollment.

When training and test graph samples follow different data distributions, graph out-of-distribution (OOD) detection becomes an indispensable component of constructing the reliable and safe graph learning systems. Motivated by the significant progress on prompt learning, graph prompt-based methods, which enable a well-trained graph neural network to detect OOD graphs without modifying any model parameters, have been a standard benchmark with promising computational efficiency and model effectiveness. However, these methods ignore the influence of overlapping features existed in both in-distribution (ID) and OOD graphs, which weakens the difference between them and leads to sub-optimal detection results.

Background: Children with severe neurological impairment (SNI) have central nervous system conditions that result in medical complexity and lifelong caregiver assistance. When children with SNI are admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), their parents/families may experience elevated stress due to poor communication with clinicians.
Methods: To address this, we created a photo-narrative intervention designed to facilitate parent-clinician communication.
Introduction: Adolescents and young adults (AYAs) receiving hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) are at high risk for poor psychosocial outcomes. Heart rate variability (HRV), a surrogate for autonomic nervous system activity, is a promising digital biomarker that has been linked to important outcomes. The objectives of this study were to prospectively describe the trajectory of HRV among AYAs receiving HCT and explore the association between HRV and patient-reported outcomes (PROs).

The molecular mechanism of verbascoside(OC1) in promoting acetylcholine(ACh) release in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease(AD) was studied. Adrenal pheochromocytoma cells(PC12) of rats induced by β-amyloid protein(1-42)(Aβ_(1-42)) were used as AD models in vitro and were divided into control group, model group(Aβ_(1-42) 10 μmol·L~(-1)), OC1 treatment group(2 and 10 μg·mL~(-1)). The effect of OC1 on phosphorylated proteins in AD models was analyzed by whole protein phosphorylation quantitative omics, and the selectivity of OC1 for calcium channel subtypes was virtually screened in combination with computer-aided drug design.
