Supramolecular colloidal photonic crystals possess the advantages of both photonic crystals and supramolecular materials to prepare dynamically reversible structural color materials with high flexibility, functionality and recyclability. However, the driving force for the ordered arrangement of colloidal nanoparticles is limited since the significant increase of the viscosity in the system, consequently the shear-induced technique with complicated equipment needs to be applied to achieve the assembly of colloidal nanoparticles. Herein, we report a local stress-assisted assembly strategy for fabricating high-performance supramolecular colloidal photonic crystal films without the need of complex shearing equipment.

While immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) combined with chemotherapy has improved outcomes, resistance mechanisms and predictive biomarkers are poorly understood. This study aims to characterize the dynamic changes in the tumor microenvironment (TME) during ICB treatment and identify cell populations and molecular programs associated with therapeutic response.

However, the inadequate optical performance of PC films limits their practical applications. In this work, we develop a new method to fabricate versatile PC films with enhanced optical performance assisted by solvent.

We collected 96 patients who received dual immunotherapy between January 2019 and June 2024, in a 1:1:1 ratio based on PD-L1 expression levels of negative (<1%), medium (1% ≤ PD-L1 ≤ 49%), and high (PD-L1 ≥ 50%). This study evaluates the efficacy and safety of dual immunotherapy in patients with advanced NSCLC, stratified by PD-L1 expression levels. Among the 96 patients, the objective response rate (ORR) was 37.

Background: Abnormalities in trace elements and the incidence of oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) have been reported in China. Zinc ions (Zn) are known to regulate DNA methylation by stabilizing methylase activity. However, the relationship between DNA methylation and Zn dysregulation in ESCC cells remains unclear.

Few studies have compared the treatment effects of neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy and neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy on the long-term prognosis of patients with esophageal squamous carcinoma. This study analyzed the 3-year overall survival rate of patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous carcinoma treated with esophagectomy after neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy or neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy.

Notably, this research represents the first attempt to link AAM to NAFLD using genetic methodologies, thereby providing novel insights into the interplay between these two conditions.
Methods: Cross-sectional data from 2730 participants were analyzed using logistic regression to evaluate the association between AAM and NAFLD risk.
Background: Lung adenocarcinoma (LAC) comprises a substantial subset of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) diagnoses, where epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations play a pivotal role as indicators for therapeutic intervention with targeted agents. The emerging field of radiomics, which involves the extraction of numerous quantitative attributes from medical imaging, when coupled with positron emission tomography/ computed tomography (PET/CT) technology, has demonstrated promise in the prognostication of EGFR mutation status. The objective of this investigation is to construct and validate predictive models for EGFR mutations in LAC by leveraging PET/CT-derived radiomics features, thereby refining diagnostic precision and facilitating tailored treatment strategies.

Objective: To compare the associations of NCIT and NCRT with tumor regression and long-term survival in patients with locally advanced ESCC.
Design, Setting, And Participants: In this comparative effectiveness research study, from January 2016 to March 2023, patients with locally advanced ESCC who underwent esophagectomy following NCRT or NCIT were identified from a prospective database of 8 high-volume esophageal surgery centers in China.
Photonic crystals with advanced, unique and well-defined functional nanostructures demonstrate exquisite controllable modulation in light harvesting and emission for unrivalled optical performance. Herein, through ingeniously integrating aggregation-induced emission (AIE) luminogens and chiral helical media into ordered periodic structures, the resulting optically active photonic crystal films exhibit an enhanced photoluminescence (PL) characteristic (increased to 2.2 times the original value) and distinctive emerging circular dichroism (CD) responses near the photonic bandgap (PBG) of the photonic crystal.

Mimicking the multi-level structure of peacock feathers, a one-step strategy is developed to efficiently manufacture the Janus structural color materials (JSCMs). Using the surface tension-regulated self-assembly of SiO nanoparticles in polyethylene glycol (PEG) solution under 80 °C, the manufacturing process can be completed in a matter of minutes, which greatly improves the efficiency of photonic crystal preparation.

However, surface engineering for organic photocatalysts through structural modulation has long been neglected. Here, we propose a zone crystallization strategy for covalent organic frameworks (COFs) that enhances surface ordering through regulator-induced amorphous-to-crystalline transformation.

High-sensitivity detection of biomarkers in biological samples is crucial for the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In this paper, a versatile and flexible immobilization technique based on the specific affinity interaction between boronic acid and -diol groups of antibodies was developed for biomarker detection. As a model, the boronic acid-modified immunomagnetic beads were used for facile and quick immobilization of the alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) antibody due to the specific affinity interactions.

A variety of abnormal epithelial cells and immature and mature immune cells in thymic epithelial tumors (TETs) affect histopathological features, the degree of malignancy, and the response to treatment. Here, gene expression, trajectory inference, and T cell antigen receptor (TCR)-based lineage tracking are profiled in TETs at single-cell resolution. An original subpopulation of KRT14 progenitor cells with a spindle cell phenotype is shown.

The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of adhesives is considered to be a vital parameter for dental restoration due to the oral temperature fluctuation induced by hot and cold drinks in daily life. Even more challenging, the adhesives need to bond various materials with different CTE values, and mismatched thermal expansion at the interface of two materials will produce thermal stress and cause cracking, leading to bond failure. In this study, we designed and synthesized a divinyl monomer containing a dibenzocyclooctadiene (DBCOD) unit, which was incorporated into a commercial adhesive, Single Bond Universal (SBU) to prepare low CTE adhesives.

Here, we show that Desulfovibrio, an intestinal symbiont enriched in patients with MetS, suppresses the production of the gut hormone glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) through the production of hydrogen sulfide (HS) in male mice. Desulfovibrio-derived HS is found to inhibit mitochondrial respiration and induce the unfolded protein response in intestinal L cells, thereby hindering GLP-1 secretion and gene expression.
