The disposal and management of coal gangue (CG) waste from coal mining pose significant environmental pollution challenges. Here, we propose utilizing CG as raw material to synthesize CG-based NaA-type molecular sieves (CG@NaA MS) through a high-temperature alkali fusion combined with a hydrothermal process. This approach enables the sustainable treatment of copper ions and methylene blue (MB) in wastewater.

Supramolecular colloidal photonic crystals possess the advantages of both photonic crystals and supramolecular materials to prepare dynamically reversible structural color materials with high flexibility, functionality and recyclability. However, the driving force for the ordered arrangement of colloidal nanoparticles is limited since the significant increase of the viscosity in the system, consequently the shear-induced technique with complicated equipment needs to be applied to achieve the assembly of colloidal nanoparticles. Herein, we report a local stress-assisted assembly strategy for fabricating high-performance supramolecular colloidal photonic crystal films without the need of complex shearing equipment.

Organ-selective delivery of messenger RNA (mRNA) is critical for fulfilling the therapeutic potential of mRNA-based gene and protein replacement technologies. Despite clinical advances in the hepatic delivery of mRNA using lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), current strategies for extrahepatic-organ-selective mRNA delivery still have limitations. Here we report a peptide-encoded organ-selective targeting (POST) method for the delivery of mRNA to extrahepatic organs after systemic administration, which is based on the modular tuning of LNPs through surface engineering with specific amino acid sequences (POST codes).

Aim: To analyze visual dysfunction in rats under simulated weightlessness (SW) by examining trans-laminar cribrosa pressure difference (TLCPD) and neuroimmune responses.

Methods: The 72 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into two groups (ground control and hindlimb unloading-simulated microgravity) using stratified randomization, with each group further subdivided into three exposure durations: SW 2-week (SW-2W), 4-week (SW-4W), and 8-week (SW-8W), =12 per subgroup. At the designated time points for each group, intraocular pressure (IOP) and intracranial pressure (ICP) were measured, and the trans-laminar cribrosa pressure difference (TLCPD) was calculated.

Thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA) is life-threatening once developing to dissection (TAAD) or rupture and currently there is no effective pharmacological treatment. The abnormal activity of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) has been related with syndromic TAA, but its potential role in non-syndromic TAA is unknown. Here we identified elevations of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and its downstream protein kinase G1 (PRKG1) in both human non-syndromic TAA and β-aminopropionitrile (BAPN)-induced mouse model of TAA.
