As the relationship between exposure to chemical carcinogens and human health risks becomes increasingly clear, identifying effective biomarkers to reveal early exposure and prevent the occurrence and development of tumors has become particularly critical. Ribosomal DNA (rDNA), a cluster of genes encoding ribosomal RNA, has emerged as a focal point in chemical carcinogen exposure research in recent years, due to its high copy number within cells and sensitivity to environmental stimuli. The dynamic changes in rDNA copy numbers, especially the significant alterations observed following exposure to environmental carcinogens, have rendered it a promising potential biomarker.

Herein, a highly sensitive and selective ratiometric fluorescence platform was constructed for probing adenosine triphosphate (ATP) for the first time by using magnetic FeO nanozymes that were modified by ATP-specific aptamer labeled with 7-Amino-4-methyl-3-coumarinylacetic acid (Apt-AMCA) to yield FeO@Apt-AMCA. It was discovered that the incorporation of Apt-AMCA greatly enhance the peroxidase-like activity of FeO nanozymes, which might catalyze more o-phenylenediamine (OPD) substrates into fluorescent oxidized OPD (DAP) with a emission of 560 nm. More importantly, upon ATP addition, Apt-AMCA could potentially be released from FeO@Apt-AMCA because of Apt-target binding and the competition between ATP and Apt.

Purpose: Healthy aging levels are generally low among rural older adults, yet the effects of combined static-dynamic balance training and reminiscence therapy on this population remain underexplored. This study evaluated the efficacy of a combined static-dynamic balance training and reminiscence therapy (SDBT-RT) program in promoting healthy aging in rural communities, with emphasis on both immediate and sustained outcomes.
Patients And Methods: A randomized, assessor-blinded, controlled trial with two parallel groups included 64 adults >60 years from rural Huzhou, China, randomized to intervention (n=32) and control (n=32) groups.

Alcohol and indole derivatives are widely recognized as versatile building blocks in both chemical and biochemical synthesis. The formal conjugate addition between these two classes of compounds provides a powerful and sustainable strategy for constructing γ-hydroxyindoles, owing to the reaction's 100% atom economy and the ready availability of starting materials. In this study, we report a redox-neutral cross-coupling reaction between indoles and allylic alcohols, catalyzed by a manganese(i) pincer complex, which enables the efficient synthesis of a broad range of γ-hydroxyindoles under mild conditions.

Background: Milk powder is a key food source, especially for infants and vulnerable groups. However, Bacillus contamination during production, storage, or handling can cause spoilage, quality issues, or health risks. This study identified and isolated from commercially available Chinese milk powder.

Importance: Postpartum uterine contraction pain manifests as a severe, intermittent lower abdominal discomfort caused by uterine contraction during the early puerperium. Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) has demonstrated promising effects in managing both acute and chronic pain conditions; however, there remains a paucity of studies regarding the use of taVNS for alleviating postpartum uterine contraction pain.
Objective: To investigate the effect of taVNS in alleviating postpartum uterine contraction pain among women receiving combined spinal-epidural anesthesia for elective cesarean delivery.

Background: As the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) Agreement deepens, the role of medical product trade in safeguarding regional public health security and promoting economic development has become increasingly prominent.
Methods: Based on data from 2004 to 2023, this study employs the stochastic frontier gravity model and benchmark regression model to explore the impact of China's medical product export efficiency on the development indices of RCEP countries.
Results: The findings are as follows: (1) China's medical product exports to RCEP countries exhibit simultaneous scale expansion, structural differentiation, and market concentration, with ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea as core markets and mid-to-low-end products dominating the export structure; (2) Trade efficiency evolution reflects dual mechanisms of institutional environment and technological capabilities, where governance levels and health system soundness optimize efficiency, while excessive liberalization and tax burdens increase friction costs; (3) Enhanced export efficiency indirectly promotes human development in RCEP countries by strengthening basic health service coverage, forming a "trade-health-development" transmission mechanism.

Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and hyperspectral imaging (HSI) are two popular non-destructive tools for food quality and safety inspection. For food quality attributes quantification, the key is to develop regression models to link the features (spectral, spatial and their fusion) and the quality attributes. In addition to conventional machine learning methods, deep learning-based regression has proved to be a promising and advantageous approach to quantify the quality attributes.

Background: Partial hepatectomy remains a primary therapeutic intervention for various hepatic diseases. However, several intraoperative factors, including surgical manipulation, substantial blood loss, the need for blood transfusions, and hypoxic stress, can significantly impair liver function. Current perioperative strategies aimed at protecting the liver exhibit certain limitations.

We first screened for strong constitutive promoters by analyzing transcriptomics data under various fermentation conditions, focusing on genes with sustained high expression levels. Then, we validated the expression strength of 21 candidate promoters using β-glucuronidase enzymatic activity and qRT-PCR assays and observed that promoter P demonstrated consistently strong expression and efficacy in M527. The higher expression level and utility of P were further confirmed in three different host strains, including the industrial strain 1628.

Organophosphorus flame retardants (OPFRs), widely adopted as substitutes for restricted brominated flame retardants (BFRs), have emerged as significant environmental contaminants in regions burdened by electronic waste (e-waste) recycling activities. Consequently, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between prenatal exposure to OPFRs and infant birth outcomes in an e-waste area. We used programmed-temperature vaporizer gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (PTV-GC/MS) to measure the concentrations of thirteen OPFRs in umbilical cord blood samples from 131 mother-infant pairs in Taizhou.

Background: Oxaliplatin (OXA) is a commonly used drug for the treatment of rectal cancer (RC). However, traditional administration methods are plagued by low efficiency, high systemic side effects, and poor patient tolerance. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a targeted drug delivery system to enhance efficacy and reduce toxicity.

Strategies to build a larger workforce of geriatric care providers are needed. One method to address the shortage of geriatric care providers is inter-group contact training to improve aging-related stereotypes among undergraduate nursing students, who are an important reserve for geriatric care. But studies on inter-group contact training for nursing students and nurses are limited.

Objective: This study investigates the manifestations of inadequate family caregiving for children in China and aims to construct a conceptual framework that captures the multifaceted nature of this phenomenon within a rapidly changing social context.
Methods: Based on constructivist grounded theory, in-depth interviews were conducted with 28 children and their primary family caregivers across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, selected through purposive and theoretical sampling. Through open, axial, and selective coding, this study identified and refined the core attributes, antecedents, and outcomes of inadequate family caregiving, ultimately developing a conceptual framework.

The high invasiveness and metastatic potential of breast cancer increase the risk of postoperative recurrence. To address this issue, a composite hydrogel drug delivery system based on sodium alginate (SA) has been developed for the in situ release of carbon monoxide (CO) at the tumor resection site. This system aims to enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy and improve the clearance of residual tumor cells after surgery, thereby preventing tumor recurrence and metastasis.
