Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) has demonstrated promising effects in managing both acute and chronic pain conditions; however, there remains a paucity of studies regarding the use of taVNS for alleviating postpartum uterine contraction pain.
Objective: To investigate the effect of taVNS in alleviating postpartum uterine contraction pain among women receiving combined spinal-epidural anesthesia for elective cesarean delivery.
Background: Partial hepatectomy remains a primary therapeutic intervention for various hepatic diseases. However, several intraoperative factors, including surgical manipulation, substantial blood loss, the need for blood transfusions, and hypoxic stress, can significantly impair liver function. Current perioperative strategies aimed at protecting the liver exhibit certain limitations.

Corvid birds, often living in close proximity to livestock, poultry, and humans, provide substantial opportunities for cross-species viral transmission. Such transmission can occur through their feces or via ectoparasites (such as ticks, mites, and fleas) on their bodies, thereby releasing viruses into the environment.

Methods: MEDLINE, Embase, and Scopus were searched for studies of frailty on AAA surgery. A modified Newcastle-Ottawa scale was used to assess the quality of the included studies.
Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication of cardiac surgery. Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (hUCMSC)-derived exosomes affect tissue damage and repair, and miR-21-5p reduces apoptosis and inflammation. However, miR-21-5p's role in cardiac surgery remains unclear.

Due to the rapid growth of neck masses in ATC patients, which can lead to asphyxia, multimodality therapy, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, is essential in the treatment of ATC. Theaflavin (TF) has anti-cancer effects; however, no study has examined whether TF inhibits the malignant progression of ATC.

Methods: In this prospective study, anthropometric data were collected, including weight, height, body mass index (BMI), neck circumference, shoulder diameter, and circumference of the right middle finger (RMF) or right ring finger (RRF).
Results: We enrolled 216 patients who underwent surgery from 2016 to 2020 with 307 RLNs at risk.

IntroductionLow-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma (LG-ESS) is a rare malignant mesenchymal neoplasm for which there is no consensus regarding the role of radiotherapy in treatment. This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic significance of external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) using data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database.MethodsThis retrospective study evaluated the role of EBRT in 1254 patients with LG-ESS using SEER data (2000-2021).

Methods: A total of 70 patients diagnosed with microvascular angina comprised the observation group, while 68 patients with normal or minimal (<50%) coronary stenosis and normal coronary blood flow formed the control group. Serum C-reactive protein, albumin, homocysteine, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, and other indexes were measured, and C-reactive protein/albumin and homocysteine/high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol ratios were calculated.
Low temperature impairs immune function in ectothermic vertebrates, but the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we show that hypothermia significantly decreases bacterial load and increases mortality in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) following Streptococcus agalactiae infection. Integrative RNA-seq and ATAC-seq profiling of head kidney tissue revealed widespread suppression of immune gene expression under cold stress, including ifrd2, isg15, cxcr1, ccr2, ccr9a, and socs1b.

Polyamide microplastics (PA-MPs), such as nylon, can adsorb harmful bacteria like Vibrio parahaemolyticus, posing threats to bivalves and economic risks to aquaculture. In this study, M.

Wild birds were identified as carriers and disseminators of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) and their associated antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). A majority of studies in this area have concentrated on migratory birds as carriers for the spread of antibiotic resistance over long distances.

This raises questions about AD development in the general population. Although transcriptional dysregulation has not traditionally been a hallmark of AD, recent studies reveal significant epigenomic changes in late-onset AD (LOAD) patients.

Background: Hypertension is the most prevalent chronic disease globally and the treatment and control ratio of hypertension patients are still low. The function of lncRNA MIR210HG in hypertension has not yet been announced.
Methods: Eighty-three hypertension patients and 79 healthy individuals were enrolled.
Background: Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a globally prevalent atherosclerotic disease associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and a poor prognosis. Skeletal muscle loss (sarcopenia) is particularly common in patients with PAD and is closely associated with poor prognosis.
Aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the area, density and fat infiltration of skeletal muscle in patients with PAD by CT, and to analyze their relationship with the degree of vascular stenosis.

However, adapting a single robot design to various surface shapes remains a substantial challenge. Based on the van der Waals (vdW) force-mediated adhesion mechanism of a gecko foot and negative pressure from octopus suckers, this study introduces a biomimetic integration strategy for designing and fabricating a pneumatically actuated switchable adhesion system (SAS).

The multi-administration of recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) is limited largely by immunological barriers. Herein, a novel strategy, named rAAV pseudo-lipid nanoparticle combined with triamcinolone acetonide (LNP-rAAV + TAC), has been described in mice. We showed successful but low efficient triple trafficking by LNP-rAAV2 carrying EGFP, human factor IX (hFIX), and luciferase (luc), due to its encapsulation characteristic.
