Background: A higher risk of cardiovascular disease has been correlated with several inflammatory biomarkers, one of which is the systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII). Nevertheless, the relationship between SII and major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) in patients with diabetes and acute coronary syndrome (ACS) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remains unclear. The objective of this study was to assess the prognostic value of SII for the risk of MACCE in patients with diabetes and ACS who underwent PCI.

Background: Left ventricular thrombus (LVT) is associated with major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs). Anticoagulation represents the current primary management for LVT; however, current studies in some Asian populations suggest that the anticoagulation benefit in LVT patients is not significant. Given the heterogeneity of clinical phenotypes in LVT patients, the population of LVT patients who benefit from anticoagulation needs to be further explored.

Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have demonstrated potential in this specific medical field. Qwen-2 and Llama-3 are high-performance, open-source large language models (LLMs) available online.

Objectives: Left ventricular thrombus (LVT) is associated with an increased risk of adverse cardiovascular events, and thyroid hormones are known to affect the cardiovascular system in various ways. However, subclinical thyroid dysfunction still deserves to be emphasized, and its impact on the prognosis of patients with LVT is rare but needs to be investigated.
Methods: We used retrospective data from patients diagnosed with LVT at Fuwai Hospital over the past 10 years to assess the relationship between thyroid functional status and prognosis of LVT using multivariate Cox proportional hazards models and validated the improved predictive effect of including thyroid function in the prognostic assessment of LVT using receiver operating characteristic curves.

Background: Early identification of cardiogenic shock (CS) patients at risk for renal replacement therapy (RRT) is crucial for improving clinical outcomes. This study aimed to develop and validate a prediction model using readily available clinical variables.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted using data from 4,133 CS patients from the MIMIC and eICU-CRD databases.

Background: Findings from earlier research have established that insulin resistance (IR) is implicated in atherosclerosis progression, representing a noteworthy risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Recently, the triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI) has been introduced as a straightforward and robust alternative indicator for early detection of IR. Nevertheless, there is a scarcity of studies that have examined the capability of TyG-BMI for predicting incident CVD.

Background/objectives: To date, evidence regarding the protective roles of the Mediterranean-Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay (MIND) diet in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is scarce. This study aims to estimate the impact of adhering to the MIND diet on the mortality in patients with and without T2DM.
Subjects/methods: In this cohort study, 6887 participants (1021 patients with T2DM) from the NHANES dataset were analyzed.
Background: The Mediterranean-Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension for neurodegenerative delay (MIND) has been regarded as a novel healthy dietary pattern with huge benefits. However, its value in preventing and treating hypertension has not been investigated. The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of adhering to the MIND diet on the prevalence of hypertension in the entire population and long-term mortality in hypertensive patients.

Methods And Results: In this prospective cohort study, we consecutively enrolled 4088 stable CAD non-diabetic patients with a median follow-up period of 3.2 years.
Background The PRAISE (Prediction of Adverse Events Following an Acute Coronary Syndrome) score is a machine-learning-based model for predicting 1-year all-cause death, myocardial infarction, and Bleeding Academic Research Consortium (BARC) type 3/5 bleeding. Its utility in an unselected Asian population undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention for acute coronary syndrome remains unknown. We aimed to validate the PRAISE score in a real-world Asian population.

However, the impact of prediabetes on prognosis in patients with coronary intermediate lesions remains unclear. The objective of the current study is to explore the impact of prediabetes and compare the prognostic value of the different definitions of prediabetes in patients with coronary intermediate lesions.

Methods: Patients with confirmed LVT from 2009 to 2021 were included. The primary endpoints were major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE), composite of cardiovascular death, ischemic stroke, and acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

Background: Clinical guidelines recommend surgical intervention when left ventricular thrombus (LVT) is complicated with left ventricular aneurysm (LVA). Objectives: This study aimed to review the changes in the treatment of LVT combined with LVA over the past 12 years at our center and to compare the efficacy of medical therapy and surgical treatment on patient outcomes. Methods: Between January 2009 and June 2021, 723 patients with LVT combined with LVA were enrolled, of whom 205 received surgical ventricular reconstruction (SVR) therapy and 518 received medical therapy.

Methods: A total of 30,349 consecutive patients with angiographically confirmed coronary artery disease (CAD) were prospectively enrolled. Concordance was defined as if the LDL-C was <1.

Methods: A total of 9,751 patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the Fuwai PCI registry were included. DLDL-C was measured by the selective solubilization method (Kyowa Medex, Tokyo, Japan).
Background: Recent evidence has shown that the pathogenesis of ischaemic stroke associated with atrial fibrillation (AF) is complex and involves other factors in addition to arrhythmias. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among AF, CHADS-VASc score and ischaemic stroke in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) in Hebei, China.
Methods: A total of 2,335 patients with CAD from September 2016 to May 2019 at the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University were included (mean age 62.
Background: In China, ischemic heart disease is the main cause of mortality. Having cardiac rehabilitation and a secondary prevention program in place is a class IA recommendation for individuals with coronary artery disease. WeChat-based interventions seem to be feasible and efficient for the follow-up and management of chronic diseases.
