Due to their increasing industrial applications, metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs) have emerged as significant environmental pollutants with potential ecotoxicological effects on aquatic organisms. This study evaluated the acute effects of binary and ternary mixtures of ZnFe₂O₄ (10 mg/L), SiO₂ (10 mg/L), and NiO (100 mg/L) NPs on Mytilus galloprovincialis. Following 96-hour exposures, oxidative stress biomarkers (SOD, CAT, GST, MDA) and histopathological alterations were assessed in gill and digestive gland tissues.

Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) scaffolds are gaining attention in tissue engineering due to their continuous and interconnected porous architecture. In this study, three TPMS geometries-Gyroid, Diamond, and I-WP-were fabricated from polylactic acid (PLA) using fused deposition modeling (FDM), with all scaffolds designed to maintain the same overall porosity. Scaffold characterization included scanning electron microscopy (SEM), microcomputed tomography (micro-CT), compressive mechanical testing, and surface wettability analysis.

Dental age (DA) estimation plays a crucial role in forensic investigations, clinical diagnosis, and treatment planning. It is considered more reliable than skeletal methods due to the predictable nature of dental development. This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of three DA estimation methods-Nolla method, Cameriere-European formula, and Blenkin-Evans method-in Turkish children aged 6-14 years.

Chronic low back pain (CLBP) remains a significant challenge for clinicians, and a substantial percentage of adults experience it at some point in their lives. Non-pharmacological treatments have gained attention for managing pain through aerobic and anaerobic core exercises. However, studies on humans and animals have yielded conflicting results regarding the type of exercise and its effect on pain sensation.

Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) is a typical plasticizer used in the production and processing of plastic items. Given that DBP is easily leached and discharged into the environment, posing a threat to nature and living things, a facile and feasible impedimetric magneto biosensor for ultrasensitive determination of DBP was constructed first of all by using epoxy-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles as a sensing platform. A magnetic field on the electrode surface kept the epoxy-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles in place, and the particular interaction was conducted on the solid platform of magnetic nanoparticles.

Mushroom cultivation and traditional mushroom procurement are widespread worldwide. Therefore, it is important to determine the extent of the risk of heavy metal exposure by consuming wild edible mushrooms. The aim of this study was to determine the levels of four elemental impurities (Cd, Pb, As, and Hg) in edible mushroom species (Macrolepiota mastoidea, Bovista aestivalis, Tricholoma fracticum, Helvella sp.

Diabetes mellitus is a global metabolic disorder characterised by insulin resistance or insufficient insulin production, leading to chronic hyperglycemia and severe complications. Although pharmacological treatments exist, there is a growing interest in complementary therapies to improve glycaemic control and attenuate disease progression. Bovine colostrum, a nutrient-rich secretion produced after parturition, contains bioactive compounds such as insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), lactoferrin, cytokines and immunoglobulins, which have potential therapeutic effects on diabetes.

Objective: The electrocardiogram is a crucial, cost-effective, and noninvasive tool for assessing the risk of cardiac morbidity and mortality. The frontal QRS-T angle is a marker of ventricular repolarization. This study investigated whether the frontal QRS-T angle could predict mortality in hemodialysis patients over a seven-year follow-up period.

The rising prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) alongside its associated morbidity and complications underscores the need for adjunctive therapies beyond glycemic control and lifestyle modification. Emerging evidence implicates gut microbiota-derived metabolites in the modulation of host energy homeostasis. One of these metabolites, postbiotics-the bioactive substances created during the fermentation of probiotics-have now become a promising therapeutic.
