Druggable driver gene alterations in redefined large cell carcinoma in Chinese patients: an observational study.

Background: Few reports have investigated the genetic status of large cell carcinoma (LCC) in Chinese patients under the 2015 World Health Organization (WHO) classification. We aimed to analyze the distribution of druggable driver gene alterations, including mutations in epidermal growth factor receptor (, Kirsten rat sarcoma 2 viral oncogene homolog (), proto-oncogene B-Raf (), and phosphatidylinositol-4,5 biphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit alpha () and translocations in echinoderm microtubule-associated protein-like 4-anaplastic lymphoma kinase () and ROS proto-oncogene 1 (), in a large population of patients with LCC under the 2015 WHO classification, and to assess the clinical outcomes of patients with LCC harboring these genetic alterations.

Methods: A cohort of 322 patients with LCC resected between June 2015 and December 2018 was included in this study.

It is essential to know whether COVID-19 patients have a history of cerebrovascular disease, as it may be predictive of prognosis and useful for allocation of limited medical resources. This meta-analysis was performed to assess the incidence of cerebrovascular disease as a comorbidity in COVID-19 patients. The PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, CNKI, WFSD, and VIP databases were systematically searched.

Multisystem involvement Langerhans cell histiocytosis in an adult: A case report.

Background: Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare condition wherein Langerhans cells proliferate abnormally, adversely impacting organs including lymph nodes, bones, skin, lungs, and pituitary gland. The LCH disease course varies widely among patients from a self-limiting condition to one that progresses rapidly and culminates in death. It is uncommon for multisystem LCH to be observed in adults.

Evaluation and diagnosis of obstacles to land-based ecological security in resource-based cities: A case study of Xingtai city.

To provide a theoretical basis for sustainable land resource utilization and a reference for areas with similar natural conditions, an evaluation index for land-based ecological security was constructed based on the Driving force-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) model and the improved analytic hierarchy process (IAHP) and entropy methods, and the land-based ecological security status of Xingtai city from 2006 to 2017 was evaluated. Then, the obstacles to land-based ecological security were diagnosed. The results show that the values of the comprehensive evaluation index of land-based ecological security were 0.

Predictive diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease using serum metabolic biomarkers and least-squares support vector machine.

Objective: Development of biofluid-based biomarkers is attractive for the diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) but still lacking. Thus, here we aimed to identify serum metabolic biomarkers for the diagnosis of COPD.

Methods: In this study, we investigated serum metabolic features between COPD patients (n = 54) and normal individuals (n = 74) using a H NMR-based metabolomics approach and developed an integrated method of least-squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) and serum metabolic biomarkers to assist COPD diagnosis.

In order to prevent this situation, a river channel in the Binhu District of Wuxi City was used as an experimental site. In-situ CaO combined with a biochar covering technology was used to repair the black odorous river sediment in this channel.

Glutamatergic neurons in the basal forebrain play an important role in initiation and maintenance of wakefulness. Here, we selectively recorded the activity of glutamatergic neurons in vGlut-2-Cre mice.

Prognostic value of the systemic inflammation response index in patients with aneurismal subarachnoid hemorrhage and a Nomogram model construction.

Objective: To investigate the prognostic value of inflammatory markers, including neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), derived neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (dNLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte/lymphocyte ratio (MLR), prognostic nutritional index (PNI), and systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) in patients with aneurismal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH), and then develop a Nomogram prognostic model.

Methods: We analysed 178 aSAH patients who underwent surgery at Subei People's Hospital of Jiangsu province from January 2015 to December 2017. Patients were divided into two groups according to Glasgow outcome scale (GOS) score at 3 months.

Factors Associated with Outpatient Satisfaction in Tertiary Hospitals in China: A Systematic Review.

Outpatient care is made up of medical procedures, tests, and services that can be provided to the patient in a setting that doesn't involve an overnight hospital stay. In China, tertiary hospitals are medical services centers of health care systems, and some tertiary hospitals had more than 20,000 outpatient visits per day. However, a systematic review of existed evidence on factors influencing the outpatient satisfaction in tertiary hospitals in China could inform the efforts and does not yet exist.

Perioperative risk factors for atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients underwent uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic (VATS) pneumonectomy versus open thoracotomy: single center experience.

Objectives: To evaluate perioperative risk factors for AF in patients undergoing uniportal VATS pneumonectomy versus open thoracotomy, and to investigate mediastinal lymph nodes dissection (MLND) on the occurrence of AF.

Effect of elevated temperature on solid waste shear strength and landfill slope stability.

Slope instability occurs in landfills owing to increased internal temperatures. However, strength characteristic tests for solid waste (SW) and landfill slope stability (SS) calculations that consider temperature variations are scarce in the literature. In this study, we conducted triaxial tests on SW under a range of temperature conditions and proposed the circular slide method (CSM) for calculating SS in consideration of temperature effects.

Primary pulmonary lymphoma manifesting as diffuse ground glass opacities: a case report and literature review.

Genetic manipulation of primary human natural killer cells to investigate the functional and oncogenic roles of PRDM1.

Extra-nodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKTCL) is a highly aggressive lymphoma, where the tumor suppressor gene (TSG) PRDM1 is frequently lost/inactivated. We employed two different CRISPR/Cas9 approaches to generate PRDM1-/- primary NK cells to study its role in NK-cell homeostasis. PRDM1-/- NK cells showed a marked increase in cloning efficiency, higher proliferation rate and less apoptosis compared with their wild type counterparts.

Effectiveness and prognostic factors of first-line crizotinib treatment in patients with ROS1-rearranged non-small cell lung cancer: A multicenter retrospective study.

Introduction: ROS1 rearrangements are seen in 1-2 % of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of crizotinib as first-line treatment in patients with ROS1 rearranged NSCLC.

Methods: The data of 56 patients with ROS1-rearranged advanced NSCLC who received first-line crizotinib treatment from 5 hospitals in China were retrospectively reviewed.

Background: Postoperative seizures (Sz) following surgical resection of intracranial meningiomas negatively impacts the quality of life of patients. However, there is still unclear with respect to the risk factors of and long-term freedom to Sz in patients with meningiomas. This study aimed to identify independent predictors and develop a nomogram model of late postoperative Sz to optimize postoperative surveillance.

Technical Evaluation of Soft Mist Inhaler Use in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: Proper inhaler technique is highly relevant to the effective management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The tiotropium bromide spray (TBS) (Spiriva Respimat) is a soft mist inhaler (SMI) preferred by patients to pressurized metered-dose inhalers (pMDIs) and dry powder inhalers (DPIs) because of its convenience in use. However, the technique of using TBS inhaler in the real world is unclear.

The mechanisms of age-associated memory impairment may be associated with glutamate receptor function and chromatin modification. To observe the effect of an enriched environment on the cognitive function of mice with age-associated memory impairment, 3-month-old C57BL/6 male mice ("young" mice) were raised in a standard environment, while 24-month-old C57BL/6 male mice with memory impairment ("age-associated memory impairment" mice) were raised in either a standard environment or an enriched environment. The enriched environment included a variety of stimuli involving movement and sensation.
