Stereotactic neurointervention is a common procedure for biopsy, injection, ablation, and implantation of electrodes for deep brain stimulation. Guided by preoperative imaging, conventional approaches are mostly performed manually, lacking operation stability and interactive feedback. The intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guidance enables both structural and functional assessment during operation, permitting interactive adaptation to tissue deformation and avoidance of critical anatomical regions.

Background Neural progenitor cell therapy holds great potential for repairing brain damage induced by ischemic stroke, and molecular imaging plays a crucial role in evaluating the therapeutic efficacy of neural progenitor cell transplantation. However, the presence of the blood-brain barrier significantly limits the effectiveness of such imaging methods. Purpose To enable long-term monitoring of transplanted human neural progenitor cells (hNPCs) in a rat model of ischemic stroke by combining a clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR-associated nuclease 9 (CRISPR/Cas9)-engineered triple-fusion (TF) reporter gene system with a noninvasive adenosine agonistic micelle (AM)-based probe delivery strategy.

Aims: Growth rods are the gold standard for treating early-onset scoliosis (EOS), but current treatments often fail to optimally promote spinal growth and require frequent distraction surgeries, leading to complications and significant burdens on patients.

Methods: We designed a novel growth rod (NGR) with unidirectional sliding and external regulation capabilities. Using a 3D model, we simulated the implantation of traditional growth rod (TGR) and NGR, applying a 400 N compressive load and a 1 Nm moment to test stiffness.

Circadian disruption is a common phenomenon that can cause various physiological and psychological problems, including cognitive impairment. The tryptophan-5-HT pathway, a crucial neurotransmitter system, plays a vital role in regulating circadian rhythms and cognitive functions. However, whether it mediates the cognitive impairment induced by circadian disruption remains unclear.

Estimating and predicting CO2 emissions are the keys to achieving the overall greenhouse gas emission goals for 2030 and 2050. Recent surges in space tourism have generated significant interest and concern. However, the associated CO2 emission and potential future increase remain largely uncertain due to limited publicly available information from the industry.

To compare the perioperative outcomes between the MP1000 and da Vinci Xi surgical systems in robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) and examine the MP1000 learning curve. In this prospective single-center study, 90 patients undergoing RAPN were equally allocated to the MP1000 ( = 45) or da Vinci Xi ( = 45) groups. Perioperative outcomes were analyzed, and the learning curve was assessed for MP1000 group operative times.

Renal tubular injury driven by calcium oxalate (CaOx)-induced oxidative stress constitutes a major contributor to kidney stone formation, while the regulatory role of circRNAs in this process remains poorly characterized. Through high-throughput circRNA sequencing using a calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM)-induced HK-2 cell model, we identified the evolutionarily conserved circEGLN1 as a critical protective factor against oxidative damage. Functional assays in a CaOx nephrolithiasis mouse model and in COM-treated cells, including rescue experiments, demonstrated that circEGLN1 reduces oxidative injury by sequestering miR-212-5p, thereby upregulating STARD7 and mitigating oxidative stress.

Objectives: To develop a locally deployed DeepSeek-powered closed-loop system for electronic nursing documentation quality control (QC) and evaluate its clinical efficacy through a multidimensional validation framework.

Materials And Methods: We implemented a three-dimensional (3D) QC framework (real-time, final, and vertical QC). A retrospective analysis of 556 electronic nursing records was conducted to evaluate pre- and postimplementation outcomes, with documentation accuracy and audit efficiency assessed via blinded nurse evaluations.

Significance Of This Study: Reduced pulse pressure (PP) reflects impaired systemic perfusion and may exacerbate retinal ischemia in central retinal vein occlusion-induced macular edema (CRVO-ME) by compromising ocular blood flow autoregulation. This hemodynamic dysfunction is hypothesized to worsen clinical outcomes and neovascular risks.

Purposes: To investigate the associations between potential prognostic biomarkers and clinical outcomes in treatment-naïve CRVO-ME and assess their predictive utilities.

When discussing childhood epilepsy and children's serum vitamin D status together, the matter becomes complex and intriguing. A long-standing question has been whether there is a causal link between epilepsy itself and the serum vitamin D status: does vitamin D deficiency lead to seizures, or do seizures occur alongside or result in vitamin D deficiency, or is the deficiency caused by anti-seizure medication therapy? Clarifying these questions would significantly enhance our understanding of the relationship between them and improve the treatment and management for childhood epilepsy. This narrative review summarized existing literature on vitamin D and pediatric epilepsy and collected those clinical and non-clinical researches in this field to see if sufficient evidence has accumulated to address these questions.

Rapid polymerization controlled by visible light holds great potential for advancing 3D printing technologies. However, a significant challenge limiting the implementation of visible-light-activated polymerizations is its low efficiency compared to UV light driven processes. To address this, we developed a series of visible-light-activatable organoboron (BOSHY) complexes featuring salicylaldehyde azine ligands for rapid cationic polymerization.

Introduction: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains a lethal disease worldwide with a poor prognosis. The ecotropic viral integration site 5 (EVI5) is a crucial oncogene and mediator of cell division processes, and it extensively participates in tumorigenesis and progression. However, the role of EVI5 in LUAD progression remains elusive.

Intravesical drug instillation is a common treatment for bladder cancer, but it suffers from poor targeting and suboptimal patient experience due to the influence of gravity. Here, we innovatively designed a bladder cancer treatment method using sodium alginate hydrogel magnetic robots as mitomycin drug carriers. The magnetic-driven hydrogel robots with mitomycin (MHRMs) are fabricated by uniformly mixing alginate solution, neodymium-iron-boron nanoparticles, and mitomycin, followed by the formation of MHRMs capable of carrying mitomycin in a calcium chloride solution.

Patent foramen ovale (PFO) is a common congenital heart disorder associated with stroke, decompression sickness and migraine. Combining synchronized contrast transcranial Doppler with contrast transthoracic echocardiography has important clinical significance and can improve the accuracy of detecting right-left shunts (RLSs) in patients with PFO. In this letter, regarding an original study presented by Yao , we present our insights and discuss how to better help clinicians evaluate changes in PFO-related RLS.

Penile squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) is a highly aggressive malignancy without effective treatment due to limited knowledge of its development and tumor microenvironment (TME). In this study, single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) and high-resolution spatial transcriptomics are employed to comprehensively investigate the development trajectories and the TME. The results revealed that PSCC cells mimicked the differentiation and tissue organization of normal penile epithelium, independent of the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection status.

Objective: Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disease. Current understanding of the abnormal neural network in PD is limited, which may be one of the reasons for the lack of effective treatments. Tissue-clearing techniques allow visualization of neurons and gliocytes that form the structural basis of the abnormal neuronal network, thus enabling a deeper understanding of the pathological neuronal network in PD and contributing to the study of therapeutic strategies.
