Background: Infants are vulnerable to acute respiratory infections (ARIs), which result in pediatric morbidity and even fatalities. A surge of ARIs among infants and young children was reported in China in 2023, garnering global attention. We aimed to investigate the frequency and types of respiratory pathogens associated with the risk of acute respiratory illnesses in infants and young children during this period.

A retrospective analysis was conducted on imperfect intrauterine insertion images from November 2020 to July 2021. The physicist reconfigured two-dimensions (2D) and three-dimensions (3D) plans based on prescription (6 Gy) for both the imperfection (IM) and perfect (PER) implantation.

In light of the partial observability limitation, adaptive distributed observers are employed to estimate the unobservable states of the leader, whereas local state observers are utilized to reconstruct the states of the followers. By integrating fuzzy logic systems, the unknown nonlinear dynamics are modeled, guaranteeing reliable state prediction in complex and partially observable scenarios.

Here, we identify KDM2B, a defining component of non-canonical PRC1.1, as a critical regulator for sustaining the proportion and immunosuppressive functions of active Treg (aTreg) cells without altering Treg abundance or identity.

Purpose: To compare the progression of myopic maculopathy in patients with stage 3 myopic traction maculopathy (MTM) undergoing either pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) or macular buckling (MB).
Methods: A total of 61 eyes diagnosed with stage 3 MTM were retrospectively divided into two groups: PPV group (30 eyes) and MB group (31 eyes). Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), axial length (AL), myopic maculopathy progression, retinal and choroidal thickness were measured and compared.
A 53-year-old man presented with right upper abdominal pain for more than 3 weeks without an apparent cause. Multiple sequences of MR imaging detected multiple liver nodules with irregular peripheral enhancement. 18F-FDG and 68Ga-FAPI PET showed multiple elevated tracer uptake, which mimicked multiple liver metastases of unknown primary focus.

Methods: This retrospective comparative study included 136 patients (151 eyes) diagnosed with iERM and a control group of 121 healthy fellow eyes. All patients underwent FFA and optical coherence tomography (OCT).
Purpose: The study aims to assess the efficacy of integrating macular buckling (MB) with pars plana vitrectomy (PPV), the inverted internal limiting membrane (ILM) flap technique, and air tamponade in treating macular hole retinal detachment (MHRD) in patients with high myopia.
Methods: This retrospective study included sixty-two eyes from sixty-two consecutive patients diagnosed with highly myopic MHRD. The participants were categorized into two groups: the PPV group (n=34) and the combination group (n=28).

Depression is a serious mental disease, and its accompanying abnormal changes in peripheral organs, including the kidney, are easy to be ignored. The metabolic abnormalities of the kidney and other organs will inevitably affect the progress of depression through the circulatory system. Quercetin has attracted much attention as a flavonoid with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, and antidepressant potential.

Traction retinal detachment (TRD) is the main factor affecting the effect of proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) surgery. Liquid Chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was adopted to analyze the proteomes of the vitreous in the TRD, vitreous hemorrhage (VH) and macular hole (MH) groups.

Objective: To explore the feasibility of establishing a temporary trauma team led by trauma experts in primary hospitals for disaster medical rescue.
Methods: In the coal mine flooding accident in Xiaoyi City, Shanxi Province on December 15, 2021, according to the local emergency plan and the characteristics of the accident, the trauma experts trained the medical staff from the local primary hospital on advanced trauma life support (ATLS) and damage control surgery (DCS) in the short time interval between the occurrence of the mine disaster and the admission of medical staff to the disaster scene. A temporary trauma team composed of trauma experts, ATLS team, and DCS team was formed to provide early diagnosis and treatment for survivors before and in the hospital.
Introduction: CMTM3 is a member of the human chemokine-like factor superfamily. The mechanistic role of CMTM3 in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is not known. This study investigated the role of CMTM3 in the progression of ARDS and its impact on the function of vascular endothelial cells.

Bai-Jie-Jing-Xie (BJJX) ointment has been widely used in the clinic practice for its notable efficacy and is an empirical prescription for psoriasis treatment in hospitals. Nevertheless, its precise mechanism of action on psoriasis remains unclear.

Flavonoids not only have antidepressant effects, but can also promote the synthesis and utilization of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c), which are closely associated with depression. This study aimed to explore the association between flavonoid intake and the risk of perimenopausal depression and the mediating role of HDL-c.

Methods: Seventy-five thousand five hundred thirty-seven Chinese adults from the Kailuan study who participated in the first checkup (2006-2007) were included. BA was predicted by 32 clinical indicators using deep neural networks models.
Biological soil crusts (BSCs) play a fundamental role in desert ecosystems by stabilizing soil, cycling nutrients, and retaining moisture. However, the assembly processes governing bacterial communities within BSCs remain largely unknown. This study aimed to reveal the spatiotemporal variations in the bacterial community diversity, co-occurrence patterns, and ecological assembly processes of BSCs and their underlying soils across different desert and seasonal conditions.
