Methods: From March to June 2019, a stratified cluster sampling was employed to cover 4705 participants in Chongqing's urban and rural districts.
Background In the context of the digital era, the deep integration of the Internet and the medical field has shown two sides in the treatment and rehabilitation of children with malignant tumors. However, the problem of Internet addiction (IA) behind Internet use in these children - and its potential threat to their health status - has not yet attracted widespread attention. The main objective of this study was to investigate the impact of IA on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in Chinese children aged 8 to 18 years with malignant tumors.

Organoids possess powerful capability to reproduce the key functions of the associated organ structures, and their similarity to the organs makes them physiologically relevant systems. The primary challenge associated with the development of skin organoids is the complexity of the human skin architecture, which encompasses the epidermis and the dermis as well as accessory structures, including hair follicles, sweat glands, and sebaceous glands, that perform various functions such as thermoregulation.

Single Cu or Rh atom is doped by the replacement of a Se atom within the PdSe surface, with the formation energy of 0.40 and -0.

Here, we show that CCR2 signaling in CD8 T that persist within the hippocampus after recovery from CNS infection with West Nile virus (WNV) significantly prevents the development of memory impairments. Using CCR2-deficient mice, we determined that CCR2 expression is not essential for CNS T cell recruitment or virologic control during acute WNV infection.

Results: Microsatellites density landscapes of all 24 chromosomes were built here for the first complete reference sequence of human genome T2T-CHM13. These landscapes showed that short tandem repeats (STRs) are prone to aggregate characteristically to form a large number of STRs density peaks.
To explore the relationship between serum folic acid (FA) or Vitamin B12 (VB12) and elevated BP in children and adolescents. Both a nested case control and a cohort study were designed to explore the relationship between serum folic acid (FA) or Vitamin B12 (VB12) and elevated blood pressure (BP). All the included participants were from primary school.

Herein, a new type of multi-mode anti-counterfeiting encryption material of CaAlO:Eu, Er with different Er doping concentration was developed by sol-gel method. Interestingly, the CaAlO:Eu, Er phosphor and its composite have multi-mode anti-counterfeiting characteristics of multi-color down-conversion luminescence, up-conversion luminescence, dynamic luminescence, and photochromism.

However, an absence of comprehensive syntheses is observed concerning the varying effects of different exercise intensities on the improvement of physical health among children and adolescents. The aim of this review is to systematically investigate the effects of different exercise intensities on the physical fitness of children and adolescents, to analyses the optimal exercise intensities for improving physical fitness, and to provide a relevant theoretical basis for optimizing school physical education curricula.

Although millions of cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-mediated memory dysfunction are accumulating worldwide, the underlying mechanisms and how vaccination lowers risk are unknown. Interleukin-1 (IL-1), a key component of innate immune defense against SARS-CoV-2 infection, is elevated in the hippocampi of individuals with COVID-19.

Objectives: This study aimed to explore the experiences and caregiving perspectives of mothers from low-income families who have children with asthma, and to establish a foundation for the development of tailored nursing strategies specifically designed for families facing similar circumstances.
Method: A descriptive qualitative research method was employed. Fifteen mothers of asthmatic children from low-income families receiving treatment at the Respiratory Centre of Chongqing Children's Hospital were purposefully sampled from June to December 2021.
Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) directly using zinc metal anodes are promising candidates for grid-scale energy storage systems due to their intrinsic high theoretical capacity, high safety, and environmental friendliness. However, the uncontrolled dendrite growth and water-triggered side reactions seriously plague its practical application. Herein, a cost-effective and green additive, maltodextrin (MD) is presented, to simultaneously guide the smooth Zn deposition and inhibit the occurrence of water-related side reactions.

EMBASE, The Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and PubMed were searched from January 1, 2000 to August 1, 2022 for peer-reviewed papers. Meta-analyses were conducted to ascertain the effect of physical activity on symptoms of anxiety, depression and weight-related outcomes in overweight/obese children and adolescents.

Fluorescent mesoporous silica materials (FMSMs) have garnered considerable attention in the realm of chemical sensing, biosensing, and bioimaging due to their distinctive structure and easily functionalized surfaces. As a result, numerous Cu sensors based on FMSMs have been devised and extensively applied in environmental and biological Cu detection over the past few decades.

Background: Anxiety, depression, and stress are the most common mental health problems in childhood. Exercise interventions in childhood help to promote mental health.
Objective: To investigate the relationship between exercise interventions and improvement of negative emotions such as anxiety, depression, and stress in children (5-12 years).
Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis virus (VEEV) may enter the central nervous system (CNS) within olfactory sensory neurons (OSN) that originate in the nasal cavity after intranasal exposure. While it is known that VEEV has evolved several mechanisms to inhibit type I interferon (IFN) signaling within infected cells, whether this inhibits virologic control during neuroinvasion along OSN has not been studied. Here, we utilized an established murine model of intranasal infection with VEEV to assess the cellular targets and IFN signaling responses after VEEV exposure.

We aimed to construct an evaluation index system for the core competencies of specialist nurses in pediatric emergency care using the Delphi method. We preliminarily defined 3 levels of evaluation indices for the core competencies in this nursing specialty through literature review and qualitative analysis. We conducted 2 rounds of expert consultation (using the Delphi method) to screen, revise, and finalize the indices.

Soil profile moisture is a crucial parameter of agricultural irrigation. To meet the demand of soil profile moisture, simple fast-sensing, and low-cost in situ detection, a portable pull-out soil profile moisture sensor was designed based on the principle of high-frequency capacitance. The sensor consists of a moisture-sensing probe and a data processing unit.

Using a mouse model of vaginal herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2) infection, we show that interleukin-18 (IL-18) acts upon natural killer (NK) cells to promote accumulation of the serine protease granzyme B in the vagina, coinciding with vaginal epithelial ulceration.

In this paper, we propose a total-internal-reflection-based Fabry-Pérot resonator composed of a 12-nm-thick gold layer and a dielectric resonant cavity. The resonator uses the same Kretschmann configuration as surface plasmon resonators (SPR).
