Evisceration of the small intestine from the anus is a rare complication following rectal injury. In patients with recurrent rectal prolapse, delayed surgical intervention can lead to rectal wall thinning due to chronic ischemia, increasing the risk of rectal rupture and subsequent intrusion of the small bowel followed by antegrade intussusception. Since Bodie first described this condition in 1827, fewer than one hundred cases have been reported globally.

The increasing prevalence of mpox calls for the development of safer and more accessible next-generation vaccines. Based on a structure-guided "two-in-one" immunogen design strategy, we have previously developed an innovative protein-based monkeypox virus (MPXV) vaccine, DAM (Double A35 and M1), which addresses the issues of imbalanced bioavailability associated with cocktail vaccines and elicits superior antiviral immunity with a safety profile. In this study, we iteratively designed two "four-in-one" chimeric immunogens, DAMs, using four MPXV antigens, M1, A29, A35, and B6.

Nanozyme-mediated nanocatalytic therapy, by mimicking the activity of redox enzymes, generates highly toxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) within tumor cells, thereby opening a pathway for tumor-specific therapy. However, achieving satisfactory therapeutic outcomes with nanozymes remains challenging due to the inherent complexity of the tumor microenvironment (TME). In this context, we designed a two-dimensional layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanozyme loaded with Au nanoparticles, while incorporating bioactive Ca and Fe ions (denoted as MgCaFe-LDH@Au NSs) to target the specific needs of the TME.

The gradient field, one of the core magnetic fields in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, is generated by gradient coils and plays a critical role in spatial encoding and the generation of echo signals. The uniformity or linearity of the gradient field directly impacts the quality and distortion level of MRI images. However, traditional point measurement methods lack accuracy in assessing the linearity of gradient fields, making it difficult to provide effective parameters for image distortion correction.

mTOR plays a pivotal role in cancer growth control upon amino acid response. Recently, CDK inhibitor P27KIP1 has been reported as a noncanonical inhibitor of mTOR signaling in MEFs, via unclear mechanisms. Here, we find that P27KIP1 degradation via E3 ligase TRIM21 is inhibited by human micropeptide hSPAR through its C-terminus (hSPAR-C), causing P27KIP1's cytoplasmic accumulation in breast cancer cells.
