Magnetic controlled capsule endoscopy (MCE) overcomes limitations of capsule endoscopy and achieves one-time gastro-small intestinal joint examination. However, few studies have reported diagnostic value of MCE of gastrointestinal lesions in patients with abdominal pain. This study aims to investigate clinical applications of MCE in patients with abdominal pain.

Liver diseases have become a major challenge threating the global health, posing a heavy burden on both social and personal well-being. Methods: We recruited participants aged 45 years or older from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS, 2011 - 2020).

Identification of functional defecation disorder in patients with constipation based on colonic transit test: a retrospective study.

Background: This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of colonic transit test (CTT) in cases of constipation associated with functional defecation disorders (FDD) within the Chinese population.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted involving 202 patients diagnosed with functional constipation, who underwent CTT, high-resolution anorectal manometry, and balloon expulsion test. Participants were categorized based on the Rome IV criteria, comprising 103 patients with FDD and 99 without.

The aim of the present study was to provide a theoretical basis for the selection of standard sampling methods in the study of the esophageal microbiota in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) by comparing the differences in bacterial communities between surgical and endoscopic esophageal mucosal tissues. A total of 72 patients with ESCC who were diagnosed at Taihe Hospital (Shiyan, China) between July 2018 and July 2019 were selected to participate in the present study. The sequence V hypervariable region was amplified, and Illumina HiSeq sequencing was performed to analyze the differences between the two groups.

Circulating levels of micronutrients and risk of osteomyelitis: a Mendelian randomization study.

Background: Few observational studies have investigated the effect of micronutrients on osteomyelitis, and these findings are limited by confounding and conflicting results. Therefore, we conducted Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses to evaluate the association between blood levels of eight micronutrients (copper, selenium, zinc, vitamin B12, vitamin C, and vitamin D, vitamin B6, vitamin E) and the risk of osteomyelitis.

Methods: We performed the two-sample and multivariable Mendelian randomization (MVMR) to investigate causation, where instrument variables for the predictor (micronutrients) were derived from the summary data of micronutrients from independent cohorts of European ancestry.

Background: This work aimed to explore anxiety-associated risk factors in patients diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC).

Methods: Clinical data from patients diagnosed with UC and hospitalized at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University between May 2019 and June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 260 patients were included and divided into UC with anxiety (n = 86) and UC without anxiety (n = 174) groups according to the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale score.

Methods: The results of 90 trainees who underwent the standardized training and assessment system of the MCCG at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from May 2020 to November 2023 was retrospectively analyzed. The trainees were divided into three groups according to their medical backgrounds: doctor, nurse, and non-medical groups.

Vesicoureteral reflux postoperative radical nephroureterectomy for upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma: A case report.

Introduction: Primary Upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) is a rare subtype of urothelial carcinoma and has an unknown incidence and prevalence in Yemen. Radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) with bladder cuff removal is the standard treatment for UTUC.
