Magnetic controlled capsule endoscopy (MCE) overcomes limitations of capsule endoscopy and achieves one-time gastro-small intestinal joint examination. However, few studies have reported diagnostic value of MCE of gastrointestinal lesions in patients with abdominal pain. This study aims to investigate clinical applications of MCE in patients with abdominal pain.

Liver diseases have become a major challenge threating the global health, posing a heavy burden on both social and personal well-being. In recent years, the development of the gut-liver axis theory has provided new research perspectives and intervention strategies for the prevention and treatment of liver diseases. Natural products, recognized as biological molecules with diverse sources, rich activities, and minimal side effects, demonstrate great potential in regulating intestinal flora and improving liver health.

Oxidative stress is an important mechanism that causes the pathological progression of NAFLD. However, the effect and specific mechanism of exogenous HS on oxidative stress in NAFLD are still unclear.

Current clinical diagnosis relies on endoscopic biopsy and histopathological analysis, which are highly dependent on pathologists' expertise and may lead to misdiagnoses. Therefore, there is an urgent need for molecular, digital, and intelligent real-time diagnostic methods.

Liver fibrosis, a pivotal pathological feature in the progression of chronic liver injury, currently lacks effective therapies. Sinomenine (SIN), a bioactive alkaloid derived from traditional Chinese medicine, demonstrates diverse pharmacological properties. However, its therapeutic potential and mechanisms in liver fibrosis remain inadequately characterized.

However, the challenge lies in developing PTAs with high PCE, and the impact of PTT-induced temperature gradients on the cytolytic potential of natural killer (NK) cells against tumor cells has yet been investigated. Herein a novel NIR-II aggregation-induced emission (AIE) molecule named C12T-BBT is proposed by conjugating an electron donor TPA with a strong electron acceptor BBT, using a long alkyl chain (C12) substituted thiophene as π-bridge.

Background: Ectopic pregnancy (EP) is a dangerous obstetric condition that can occur anywhere throughout the world. This study explored the burden, health inequality analysis, and future trends related to EP to assist in formulating the next steps of public health policies.
Methods: The epidemiological characteristics of EP classified by age, year, and socioeconomic level were assessed in global, regional, and national groups based on Global Burden of Disease 2019.
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a complex chronic intestinal disorder in which excessive oxidative stress, dysregulated immune response, and microbiota dysbiosis contribute to recurrent episodes of inflammation in the colonic mucosa. Current clinical treatments focusing solely on inflammation resolution often exhibit limited efficacy due to the inability to fundamentally improve the pathological microenvironment. Herein, a probiotic membrane-modified drug delivery nanocomposite, namely, MPDA@Cur@EM, is developed for the comprehensive treatment of IBD.

Currently, effective treatments for EC are limited and patient prognosis remains poor. In this study, we utilized Mendelian Randomization (MR) to identify potential drug targets for EC by analyzing proteins linked to the disease risk.

Traditional treatments focusing solely on inflammation resolution remain unsatisfactory. Herein, a yeast-inspired orally administered nanocomposite was developed.

Methods: We recruited participants aged 45 years or older from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS, 2011 - 2020).

Background: This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of colonic transit test (CTT) in cases of constipation associated with functional defecation disorders (FDD) within the Chinese population.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted involving 202 patients diagnosed with functional constipation, who underwent CTT, high-resolution anorectal manometry, and balloon expulsion test. Participants were categorized based on the Rome IV criteria, comprising 103 patients with FDD and 99 without.
The aim of the present study was to provide a theoretical basis for the selection of standard sampling methods in the study of the esophageal microbiota in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) by comparing the differences in bacterial communities between surgical and endoscopic esophageal mucosal tissues. A total of 72 patients with ESCC who were diagnosed at Taihe Hospital (Shiyan, China) between July 2018 and July 2019 were selected to participate in the present study. The sequence V hypervariable region was amplified, and Illumina HiSeq sequencing was performed to analyze the differences between the two groups.

Background: Few observational studies have investigated the effect of micronutrients on osteomyelitis, and these findings are limited by confounding and conflicting results. Therefore, we conducted Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses to evaluate the association between blood levels of eight micronutrients (copper, selenium, zinc, vitamin B12, vitamin C, and vitamin D, vitamin B6, vitamin E) and the risk of osteomyelitis.
Methods: We performed the two-sample and multivariable Mendelian randomization (MVMR) to investigate causation, where instrument variables for the predictor (micronutrients) were derived from the summary data of micronutrients from independent cohorts of European ancestry.

Background: This work aimed to explore anxiety-associated risk factors in patients diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC).
Methods: Clinical data from patients diagnosed with UC and hospitalized at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University between May 2019 and June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 260 patients were included and divided into UC with anxiety (n = 86) and UC without anxiety (n = 174) groups according to the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale score.
Background: Research on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) among medical students has increased globally, highlighting a high prevalence in this demographic. However, there is a lack of data specifically regarding the prevalence of IBS among medical students in Yemen. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and associated factors of IBS among Yemeni medical students.

Background And Aim: To explore the feasibility of a standardized training and assessment system for magnetically controlled capsule gastroscopy (MCCG).
Methods: The results of 90 trainees who underwent the standardized training and assessment system of the MCCG at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from May 2020 to November 2023 was retrospectively analyzed. The trainees were divided into three groups according to their medical backgrounds: doctor, nurse, and non-medical groups.
Introduction: Primary Upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) is a rare subtype of urothelial carcinoma and has an unknown incidence and prevalence in Yemen. Radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) with bladder cuff removal is the standard treatment for UTUC.
Case Presentation: We present a 67-year-old male patient who developed grade II vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) on the left side of the urinary tract after undergoing right-sided RNU for non-invasive UTUC.

However, poor visualization of the operative field increases both the procedure time and the risk of complications, especially for large and difficult lesions. We introduced a novel technique, magnetic anchor-guided ESD (MAG-ESD) and compared it with conventional ESD (C-ESD) for the treatment of large EGCs in terms of efficacy, safety, and advantages.

Downregulation of circ_0044226 has been demonstrated to reduce pulmonary fibrosis, but the role of circ_0044226 in liver fibrosis remains to be explored. In this work, we found that circ_0044226 expression was upregulated during liver fibrosis. Knockdown of circ_0044226 inhibited proliferation, promoted autophagy and apoptosis of hepatic stellate cell LX-2.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is among the world's worst malignancies. Nuclear division cycle 1 (NDC1) is an essential membrane-integral nucleoporin, found in this study to be significantly increased in primary HCC. A multivariate analysis revealed that higher NDC1 expression was linked to worse outcome in HCC patients.
