Objective: To evaluate the oncological outcomes and continence recovery of neoadjuvant hormonal therapy (NHT) before robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RARP) with neurovascular bundle (NVB) preservation in patients with locally advanced prostate cancer (LAPC).

Methods: Of the 576 patients with LAPC who underwent RARP during January 2016-March 2024, those who received NHT before RARP with NVB preservation (NVB-RARP) were propensity score (PS)-matched with those undergoing RARP without NVB preservation (NNVB-RARP) based on preoperative and histological characteristics. Clinical and biochemical recurrence results were evaluated post-surgically, and postoperative continence was analyzed in the two groups using Kaplan-Meier curves.

Background: Disturbances within the intestinal microbiota have emerged as a significant factor contributing to systemic inflammation, thereby rendering distant anatomical sites more vulnerable to various illnesses, including inflammatory conditions in the urinary tract such as cystitis. However, the causal relationship between dysbiosis of the gut microbiota and cystitis remains unclear. We sought to elucidate the causal relationship between the intestinal microbiota and cystitis employing Mendelian randomization (MR), offering insights into novel preventive and therapeutic strategies for managing cystitis.

Background: Addition of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in prostate cancer screening remains controversial issue. Despite the increased utilization of MRI, several studies have revealed its potential suboptimal diagnostic efficacy in young patients. This study aimed to further substantiate the limited diagnostic efficiency of MRI positivity [defined as Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) scores ≥3] among young individuals aged ≤55 years suspected of prostate cancer, and more significantly, to evaluate two proposed approaches.

Bisphenol A (BPA), present in many household products, can damage the male reproductive system. Accordingly, we summarized urine samples from 6921 human in National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and found urinary BPA levels were inversely linked with blood testosterone in the children group. Currently, BPA replacements, such as fluorene-9-bisphenol (BHPF) and Bisphenol AF (BPAF), have been introduced to produce "BPA-free" products.

Drug resistance in cancer is often linked to changes in tumor cell state or lineage, but the molecular mechanisms driving this plasticity remain unclear. Using murine organoid and genetically engineered mouse models, we investigated the causes of lineage plasticity in prostate cancer and its relationship to antiandrogen resistance. We found that plasticity initiates in an epithelial population defined by mixed luminal-basal phenotype and that it depends on increased Janus kinase (JAK) and fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) activity.
