Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide (DOP) has been shown to produce significant antitumor activities, but its effect on T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) remains elusive. Herein were confirmed that DOP contains six major glycosidic bonds with pharmacological activities. We explored the therapeutic targets and mechanisms of DOP using network pharmacology, bioinformatics analysis and experimental validation.

Background: Distant metastasis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an important indicator of poor patient prognosis. Identifying patients who are at high risk of metastasis early on is essential for creating personalized treatment plans, yet currently, there is a scarcity of effective predictive tools.

Objective: To investigate the effects of different factors on distant metastasis in HCC patients and to establish a clinical prediction model for predicting distant metastasis in HCC patients.

Membrane transporters are proteins responsible for facilitating the movement of molecules within biological membranes. They play a vital role in maintaining cellular homeostasis by regulating the transport of nutrients, ions, and other molecules into and out of cells. Our aim is to identify biomarkers in colorectal cancer using membrane transporter proteins.

Osteoporosis, characterized by compromised bone density and microarchitecture, represents a significant global health challenge, particularly in aging populations. This comprehensive review delves into the intricate signaling pathways implicated in the pathogenesis of osteoporosis, providing valuable insights into the pivotal role of signal transduction in maintaining bone homeostasis. The exploration encompasses cellular signaling pathways such as Wnt, Notch, JAK/STAT, NF-κB, and TGF-β, all of which play crucial roles in bone remodeling.

Lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA), a critical enzyme involved in glycolysis, is broadly involved multiple biological functions in human cancers. It is reported that can impact tumor immune surveillance and induce the transformation of tumor-associated macrophages, highlighting its unnoticed function of in immune system. However, in human cancers, the role of in prognosis and immunotherapy hasn't been investigated.

Background: Polyphyllin, a natural compound derived primarily from the genus, manifests its anticancer properties. Extensive research on its therapeutic potential in cancers has been reported. However, there is no systematical analysis of the general aspects of research on polyphyllin by bibliometric analysis.

Among all types of renal cancer, clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common and lethal subtype and is associated with a high risk of metastasis and recurrence. Histone modifications regulate several biological processes that are fundamental to the development of cancer. Lysine methyltransferase 5C (KMT5C; also known as SUV420H2) is an epigenetic modifier responsible for the trimethylation of H4K20, which drives critical cellular events, including genome integrity, cell growth and epithelial‑mesenchymal transition (EMT), in various types of cancer.

Background: The thioredoxin (TMX) system, an important redox system, plays crucial roles in several immune-related diseases. However, there is limited research on the correlation of TMX family gene expression with human pan-cancer prognosis, tumor microenvironment (TME), and immunotherapy.

Methods: Based on the integration of several bioinformatics analysis methods, we explored the expression levels and prognostic value of TMX family members in pan-cancer and analyzed their association between TME, immune infiltration, stemness scores, and drug sensitivity.

Our previous studies have confirmed that transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) plays an important role in tumor metastasis, and the serum deprivation protein response (SDPR) is a potential downstream target of TGF-β. However, the role and mechanism of SDPR in gastric cancer are still unclear. We performed gene microarray, bioinformation analysis, combined with and experimental verification, we identified that SDPR is significantly downregulated in gastric cancer, and participates in TGF-β-mediated tumour metastasis.

Background: Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, it is often less protective and does not significantly increase antibody levels, especially in individuals with impaired immune systems. Nevertheless, the immunocompetence can be enhanced using a natural immunomodulator, such as Dendrobium officinale aqueous extract (DoAE).

It has been found that arsenic trioxide (ATO) is effective in treating acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). However, long QT syndrome was reported in patients receiving therapy using ATO, which even led to sudden cardiac death. The underlying mechanisms of ATO-induced cardiotoxicity have been investigated in some biological experiments, showing that ATO affects human ether-à-go-go-related gene (hERG) channels, coding rapid delayed rectifier potassium current ( ), as well as L-type calcium ( ) channels.

Drug resistance is always a great obstacle in any endocrine therapy of breast cancer. Although the combination of endocrine therapy and targeted therapy has been shown to significantly improve prognosis, refractory endocrine resistance is still common. Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway is often related to the occurrence and the development of many tumors.

The clinical use of the steroidal aromatase inhibitor Formestane (4-hydroxandrostenedione, 4-OHA) in the treatment of advanced ER+ breast cancer has been discontinued, and therefore, interest in this remarkable drug has vanished. As a C-19 sterol, 4-OHA can undergo extensive intracellular metabolism depending on the expression of specific enzymes in the corresponding cells. We used the metabolites 4β-hydroxyandrosterone, 4β-hydroxyepiandrosterone and its 17β-reduced derivative as standards for the proof of catalytic activity present in the cell culture medium and expressed by the isolated enzymes.

Objective: To study the effects of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P2O5) and potassium (K2O) fertilizers on the growth, yield total saponins content and nutrient absorption of Pulsatilla cernua and provide a theoretical basis for good agriculture practice.

Methods: Field plot experiments was conducted, based on the D-saturation optimal design with three factors of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Samples collected periodically were used for determination the contents of nutrient and total saponins, and for measurement of yield and agronomic characters.
