Despite clinical need, no new drugs for treating ventricular tachycardia (VT) have emerged for over 20 years. In structural heart disease, posttranslational modifications render intracellular ryanodine receptor-2 (RyR2) calcium release channels leaky, which increases VT risk. Treatment with dantrolene, an RyR2 inhibitor, prevents VT in animal models.

Conventional polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydrogels with isotropic polymer networks usually lack selective responses to external stimuli, which significantly limits their applications in smart devices. In this work, a series of double network (DN) composite PVA hydrogels reinforced with cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) were prepared by in situ photopolymerization of functional monomers and freeze-thawing (F-T). The incorporation of CNC and the DN structure resulted in the high tensile strength of the hydrogel (1.

Nonheme iron catalysts are attractive for bioinspired aerobic oxidations and oxygenations, as well as for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), although their potential in ORR remains largely underexploited. This study presents a rare example of such a system, displaying O activation activity and ORR catalytic selectivity toward HO generation. The triiron(II) complex [FeL](BF), where L is a thiolate-containing N3S donor bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine derivative, was fully characterized in the solid state and in MeCN solution, where it dissociates into the mononuclear solvent adduct [FeL(MeCN)].

Dysregulation of alternative splicing (AS) has been associated with various complications of diabetes, yet its role in the pathogenesis of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) and its involvement in metabolic memory (MM) remain unclear. In this study, we identified specific AS events in RAB11FIP3, notably the full-length (RAB11FIP3-FL) isoform and exon 6 exclusion (RAB11FIP3-Δ6). We found that RAB11FIP3 (FL/Δ6) ratio is significantly elevated in patients with MM and DFUs.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease that causes severe cartilage erosion in joints. Current treatments are limited in accessing a 3D platform that not only supports chondrocyte recovery and new cartilage matrix formation but also effectively modulates the inflammatory environment, particularly through macrophage regulation and extracellular vesicle (EV)-mediated functions. Here, an injectable hydrogel is developed incorporating mannose oligosaccharide (MOS)-modified chondroitin sulfate and hyaluronic.

This paper presents a comprehensive framework for thermal-electrical-vibration coupling analysis and lightweight structure optimization of high power density flux-switching permanent magnet linear motors (FSPMLMs). A multi-physics finite element model integrating electromagnetic, thermal, and structural fields is established to investigate the complex interactions between these domains under high power density operation. The electromagnetic-thermal coupling analysis reveals nonlinear temperature rise patterns with distinctive hotspots in winding regions, while the electromagnetic-vibration coupling identifies critical correlations between thrust fluctuations and structural responses.
