Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. The oral microbiota, influenced by genetic factors, may play a role in GDM development, but the causal association remains unclear.
Methods: We employed a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach using Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) data on GDM from FINN cohort data (ID: finngen_R10_GEST_DIABETES) and GWAS data on the Oral microbiota from the Danish ADDITION-PRO cohort.
Background: Although identifying factors contributing to aggressive behavior in individuals with schizophrenia is crucial for developing targeted prevention strategies and intervention, most studies were cross-sectional or short-term, and did not take into account the factor of urbanicity. This study aimed to develop a predictive model of aggressive behavior in individuals with schizophrenia in rural China.
Method: A total of 205 individuals with schizophrenia who were identified in 1994 and followed up in 2015 were included in the study.
Purpose: 5-Fluorouracil (5FU) is a primary chemotherapy for colorectal cancer (CRC), but resistance reduces its effectiveness. HADHB, important in mitochondrial fatty acid β-oxidation, is linked to tumor metabolism changes in various cancers. Its potential influence on 5FU sensitivity in CRC remains unclear.

In multi-user wireless communication scenarios, signal degradation caused by channel fading and co-channel interference restricts system capacity, while traditional enhancement schemes face challenges of high coordination complexity and hardware integration. This paper proposes an electromagnetic focusing method using a single-layer transmissive passive metasurface. A high-efficiency metasurface array is fabricated based on PCB technology, which utilizes subwavelength units for wide-range phase modulation to construct a multi-user energy convergence model in the WiFi band.

The influenza vaccination rate among the elderly in China remains suboptimal. As key figures in effective intervention strategies, the perspectives of primary healthcare workers (PHCWs) on this issue have not been explored yet. This study aims to use the capability, opportunity, motivation-behavior (COM-B) model to identify the factors that influence influenza vaccination among the elderly from the perspective of PHCWs in China, analyze the mechanisms, and formulate targeted intervention strategies.

Extracellular cold-inducible RNA-binding protein (eCIRP) was discovered as a potent damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP). It has been shown that eCIRP is linked to various types of programmed cell death and acute inflammation. However, the role of eCIRP in chronic inflammation and renal fibrosis has not been elucidated.

Introduction: Despite extensive efforts, global influenza vaccination rates remain suboptimal, particularly among high-risk populations.
Research Design And Methods: We conducted a comprehensive literature search up to April 2023. Experimental studies assessing the effectiveness of interventions on influenza vaccination uptake were included, expressed as risk ratios (RR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI).
The functional role of MAPKK genes in potato ( L.) under high-temperature stress remains unexplored, despite their critical importance in stress signaling and yield protection. We characterized StMAPKK1, a novel group D MAPKK localized to plasma membrane/cytoplasm.

Methods: A self-controlled crossover trial recruited 15 volunteers who received standardized hand hygiene training. Participants underwent three intervention methods: (1) handwashing with non-antimicrobial soap and running water for 60 seconds; (2) hand rubbing with 70% ethanol + 0.
Introduction: Post-stroke depression (PSD), characterized by low mood and low interest, is the most common complication after stroke. The limitations of PSD drug therapy often require multidisciplinary combination therapy in clinical practice. Tuina therapy and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) have shown potential in modulating neural plasticity and improving depressive symptoms.

Calcineurin B-like (CBL) proteins and CBL-interacting protein kinases (CIPKs) form sensor-response complexes that regulate plant growth, development, differentiation, and stress responses.

Especially, the hood, a distinctive cephalic skin protrusion, is a highly sought-after feature for its endearing aesthetics. Despite a longstanding hypothesis that the hood is a type of tumor, the details of their composition, structure, and the mechanism of its formation have remained enigmatic.

Heat stress severely impacts the growth and development of potato plants. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying thermotolerance, particularly the role of WRKY transcription factors (TFs), remain poorly understood. Here, we identified as a heat-responsive gene in potato, demonstrating significant transcriptional upregulation under 30°C and 35°C heat stress conditions.

Currently, no studies have used machine learning (ML) to predict depression based on PFAS exposure. This study aimed to develop an interpretable ML model to predict depression risk based on serum PFAS levels.

Central to their success are ionizable lipids, which facilitate the cellular uptake and endosomal escape of nucleic acids. However, achieving a high delivery efficiency often comes with the drawback of increased cytotoxicity.

Dry eye disease (DED) is characterized by tear film instability and oxidative stress-induced epithelial damage. This study was conducted to compare the therapeutic effects of 2% rebamipide (REB) and 3% diquafosol (DQS) on oxidative stress-related apoptotic damage of the ocular surface in DED. Human corneal epithelial cells (HCECs) were exposed to hyperosmotic stress in vitro and treated with REB or DQS.

Methods: The objective of this study was to evaluate clinicopathologic features, mutational profiles, and outcomes of 1691 patients with hematologic malignancies, including myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS; n = 402), acute myeloid leukemia (AML; n = 758), and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL; n = 531).
Results: The frequency of SF3B1-mutated (SF3B1) MDS, AML, and CLL was 70 of 402 patients (17.
Improper synchronous grouting materials and construction parameters may cause the shield segments to float, resulting in tunnel dislocation, open joints, uneven deformation, and water leakage. This paper conducts tests on shield synchronous grout performance and presents a multi-objective optimization method for grout performance. This method considers initial setting time, shear yield strength, early compressive strength, and density as optimization performance indicators.

Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, and Chinese databases including CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, and CBM were searched. Pooled HPV vaccination coverage and willingness were calculated using a random-effects model with 95 % confidence intervals (CIs).
Heat stress severely restricts potato tuber growth and development, yet the roles of WRKY transcription factors (TFs) in mediating heat responses remain poorly understood. Using quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR), we identified in potato cultivars '' and '' as a heat-inducible gene, showing significant upregulation under 30°C and 35°C treatments. Phylogenetic analysis classified into the WRKY Group II family, with close evolutionary homology to tomato , and subcellular localization confirmed its nuclear targeting.
