The electrochemical urea oxidation reaction (UOR) presents an energy-efficient alternative to the sluggish oxygen evolution reaction (OER), operating at a substantially lower thermodynamic potential and thereby reducing the energy input for hydrogen production by approximately 70%. Simultaneously, UOR facilitates wastewater remediation, offering dual environmental and energy benefits. In this work, we report a MnCO/Ni(OH) heterostructured nanoflower array directly grown on conductive carbon cloth that exhibits outstanding UOR catalytic activity and stability.

After 45 days of cultivation, 733 mg/L of calcium ions significantly reduced the survival rate, while 550 mg/L of calcium ions had no significant adverse effects on survival, growth (SGR), the feed conversion ratio (FCR), gonad colour, or immune enzyme activity, and it significantly increased the gonad index (GI). Meanwhile, 2302 mg/L of magnesium ions caused 100% mortality within 2 days, and 1727 mg/L of magnesium ions significantly reduced the survival rate and SGR while increasing the FCR.

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have emerged as promising energy storage solutions due to resource abundance and low cost, yet their practical deployment is hindered by limited operating voltages of cathode materials. Herein, we propose a universal ligand-field engineering strategy to enhance voltage through electronic structure modulation in transition metal oxides. Using the NaMgMnO as a model system, weak-field ligands are introduced to alter the coordination environment of MnO octahedra.

Herein, a robust catalyst of binary Ru-Pd components supported on three-dimensional ordered macro-mesoporous cerium-zirconium oxide (RuPd/3DOMM-CZO) is elaborately constructed. Ordered macro-mesopore structure in novel hierarchical porous cerium-zirconium oxide can respectively enhance mass transfer of soot and gaseous reactants, and binary Ru-Pd active components can improve activation for NO and CH.

This study focuses on the AA10 family LPMO gene (BpLPMO10) cloned from the chitin-degrading bacterium Bacillus paralicheniformis and expressed in Escherichia coli. Using the 2,6-DMP assay, the optimal reaction conditions for BpLPMO10 were determined to be pH 8.

Background: The prevalence of diseases caused by parasites has decreased due to improved sanitary conditions. Acute pancreatitis caused by parasites, especially Ascaris lumbricoides worms, is relatively rare and difficult to diagnose. In some cases, it may even be misdiagnosed as idiopathic acute pancreatitis due to the difficulty of identifying the underlying cause.

Research has demonstrated that KBP enhances plan quality, minimizes inter-patient and inter-institution variability, and significantly boosts time efficiency. However, current state-of-the-art KBP approaches only generate one set of planning goals for one point on the Pareto optimal surface without considering potential planning trade-offs.

Rural tourism key villages in China serve as critical nodes driving the development of rural tourism. Based on a dataset of 1,195 key villages, this study employs Ripley's K-function and geographic detector methods to investigate their spatial distribution patterns and influencing factors. The findings reveal: ① The spatial distribution of rural tourism key villages demonstrates a strong directional alignment toward major cities and tourist attractions; ② Significant regional disparities exist in aggregation scales, with the eastern region exhibiting a substantially higher concentration than the central and western regions; ③ Both natural environmental factors and socio-economic factors influence rural tourism key villages, with road network density, river network density, and per capita disposable income exerting the most pronounced effects.

The impact of pH-regulated and OFE modification on the structure, emulsification properties, and CEO release behavior of WPF-OFE was systematically examined. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and molecular docking analyses revealed that OFE provided the basis for the formation of the ordered structure, and the main interactions between WPF and OFE were hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions.

Nevertheless, the practical applications of LMBs are constrained by current electrolyte designs that inherently rely on dominant solvation structures, preventing transformative progress in performance optimization. Here, we address this limitation through a delocalized electrolyte design that fosters a more disordered solvation microenvironment, thereby mitigating dynamic barriers and stabilizing interphases.

The microenvironment, particularly three-dimensional (3D) culture systems, plays a pivotal role in regulating the fate determination and enhancing the therapeutic potential of MSCs. Currently, the mechanisms governing the interactions between MSCs cultured in a dynamic 3D system and host recipient cells remain incompletely understood.

Thin-film composite (TFC) nanofiltration (NF) membranes are widely used in water treatment and resource recovery. Researchers generally take for granted that the dense polyamide rejection film dictates the overall hydraulic resistance of these membranes, neglecting the contributions of the substrate and the transverse transport of water to reach substrate pores. To address this critical gap, we developed a resistance-in-series model to quantify the resistances from the polyamide film, substrate, and transverse transport.

This study aimed to identify independent risk factors for post-ablation recurrence and to develop a nomogram prediction model integrating clinical, laboratory, and echocardiographic parameters.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 306 patients with persistent AF who underwent first-time RFA between June 2021 and June 2024 were enrolled.
It is essential to develop an innovative technology with high sensitivity and real-time detection for the early diagnosis of ovarian cancer. The cross-disciplinary application of multifunctional materials represents a significant trend in contemporary sensing research. In this paper, a ratio-type fluorescence sensing platform RhB/TFBBPY-COF@PBA was constructed from the covalent organic framework (COF) co-functionalized by phenylboric acid and rhodamine B (RhB).

Since rs1051730 is a synonymous variant at CHRNA3 (cholinergic receptor nicotinic alpha 3 subunit), it might be hypothesized that the causal variant might be other SNP(s) in strong linkage disequilibrium (LD).
Methods: LD analysis and functional genomics work, including chromosome conformation capture (3C), luciferase assay, and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), were performed.
Technologies based on quantum effects of spin defects, such as computation, communication, sensing, and anticounterfeiting, have developed rapidly. However, limited by specific crystal structure required for spin defects, wide extension of their application faces challenges. A notable challenge is fabricating spin defects in general-purpose, low-cost amorphous materials such as polymers.

Purpose: Thiazolidinediones (TZDs), including pioglitazone and rosiglitazone, and non-TZD insulin sensitisers (chiglitazar sodium) demonstrate potential; however, their comparative efficacy and safety remain unclear. We aimed to analyse the efficacy and safety of commonly used insulin sensitisers, including chiglitazar sodium, sitagliptin, pioglitazone, and rosiglitazone for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: A computer-based search was conducted in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data, the VIP database, PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases from the establishment date of each database to January 2025.
Since its emergence in China in 2018, African swine fever virus (ASFV) has posed a severe threat to the pig farming industry due to its high transmissibility and mortality rate. The clinical signs of ASFV infection often overlap with those caused by other swine viruses such as classical swine fever virus (CSFV), porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), pseudorabies virus (PRV), and porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2), making timely and precise diagnosis a considerable challenge. To address this, we established a TaqMan-based multiplex real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) assay capable of simultaneously detecting ASFV, CSFV, PRRSV, PRV, and PCV2.
