Acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a hematologic malignancy, is an important public health issue. It is a result of the abnormal proliferation of immature myeloid cells. Despite advancements in diagnostic procedures, the early identification of AML remains a significant clinical challenge, marking a distinctive niche for newer theranostic approaches to ameliorate diagnosis and treatment.

Background: Thrombocytopenia remains a significant clinical challenge following peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT), with delayed platelet engraftment (DPE) associated with increased morbidity and mortality. While current strategies including platelet transfusions and recombinant human thrombopoietin (rhTPO) are widely used, their clinical utility is constrained by suboptimal efficacy, high costs, and administration challenges. Herombopag, a novel second-generation thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TPO-RA), presents potential advantages due to its oral bioavailability and unique mechanism of action.

A prospective phase II study was conducted to investigate the safety and efficacy of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) combined with low-dose cytarabine (LDAC) and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) in newly diagnosed older and unfit AML patients.MethodsTwenty-two patients were enrolled and deemed evaluable.

Karyopherin subunit beta-1 (KPNB1) is a member of karyopherin β family, mediating the nuclear import of its cargoes. In this study, we found that elevated expression levels of KPNB1 are associated with unfavorable outcomes in patients with AML.

Here, we report that HSCs relax the global chromatin by downregulating the expression of a chromatin architectural protein, DEK, in response to replication stress. DEK is abnormally accumulated in bone marrow (BM) CD34+ cells from patients with FA and in Fancd2-deficient HSCs.

In recent years, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have garnered considerable attention as a prime candidate for next-generation photovoltaic technology. Ensuring the structural stability of perovskites is crucial to the operational reliability of these devices. However, the nonphotoactive yellow phase (δ-FAPbI) of formamidine (FA)-based perovskites is more favorable in thermodynamics, making it challenging to achieve pure α phase in crystallization.

Methods: We evaluated the expression pattern of SENP1 based on RNA sequencing data obtained from OHSU, TCGA, TARGET, and MILE datasets.

The family of metal-free molecular perovskites, an emerging novel class of eco-friendly semiconductor, welcomes a new member with a unique 1D hexagonal perovskite structure. Lowering dimensionality at molecular level is a facile strategy for crystal structure conversion, optoelectronic property regulation, and device performance optimization. Herein, the study reports the design, synthesis, packing structure, and photophysical properties of the 1D metal-free molecular perovskite-related single crystal, rac-3APD-NHI(rac-3APD= racemic-3-Aminopiperidinium), that features a quantum wire structure formed by infinite chains of face-sharing NHI octahedra, enabling strong quantum confinement with strongly self-trapped excited (STE) states to give efficient warm orange emission with a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) as high as ≈41.

The patient's ASCs are harvested prior to radiotherapy/chemotherapy, cryopreserved and then transfused back after the high-dose radiotherapy/chemotherapy conditioning treatment. Since some patients develop thrombocytopenia after receiving ASCT, it is difficult for them to bear simultaneously the management of their original disease and thrombocytopenia.

It can cause morbidity and may increase treatment-related mortality. Previous studies showed that the occurrence of BKV-HC was related to various factors.

Background: To investigate the clinical features of nivolumab-induced myasthenia gravis (MG) and provide evidence for the rational use of nivolumab in the clinic.
Methods: We collected case reports and case series of nivolumab-induced MG for retrospective analysis by searching Chinese and English databases from 2014 to October 31, 2022.
Results: Of the 67 patients included, the median age was 72.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effect of penile selective dorsal neurectomy (SDN) on erectile function in rats.
Methods: Twelve adult male Sprague-Dawley rats (15 weeks old) were divided into three groups (n=4 per group): in control group, rats received no treatment; in sham group, rats underwent a sham operation; in SDN group, rats underwent SDN with half of the dorsal penile nerve severed. The mating test was performed, and the intracavernous pressure (ICP) assessed six weeks after the surgical treatment.
Dictionary learning, which approximates data samples by a set of shared atoms, is a fundamental task in representation learning. However, dictionary learning over graphs, namely graph dictionary learning (GDL), is much more challenging than vectorial data as graphs lie in disparate metric spaces. The sparse literature on GDL formulates the problem from the reconstructive view and often learns linear graph embeddings with a high computational cost.

However, the economic impact of FLOT chemotherapy in China remains unclear. The analysis aimed to compare the cost-effectiveness of FLOT versus epirubicin, cisplatin plus fluorouracil or capecitabine (ECF/ECX) in patients with locally advanced resectable tumours.

Poor availability and a lack of affordability of bypassing agents (recombinant activated factor VII and activated prothrombin complex concentrate) in west China prompted us to investigate an alternative cost-effective combination therapy. We aimed to explore the feasibility of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE)-based combination therapy in the treatment of acquired hemophilia A (AHA).We retrospectively investigated the clinical features of AHA in 6 patients who were treated with a combination of TPE, corticosteroids, and rituximab in our department for 9 years between January, 2011 and December, 2019.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common male disorder. Although orally-administered phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5 inhibitors) are now recognized as the primary pharmacological treatment method for ED, 20%-30% of the patients treated with PDE5 inhibitors exhibit no significant effects. This study aims to investigate the influencing factors of ED in young adults with no response to PDE5 inhibitors.

Developing amplified sensing strategies for detecting ultralow concentration of miRNAs in clinical samples still requires much effort. Herein, an integrated fluorescence biosensor using nicking enzyme-powered numerous-feet DNA walking machine was developed for ultrasensitive detection of miRNA.

Results: A total of 27,833 AS events were detected in 8337 genes in 178 AML patients, with exon skip being the predominant type. Approximately 11% of the AS events were significantly related to prognosis, and the prediction models based on various events demonstrated high classification efficiencies.

Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common hematological malignancy in pediatrics, and immune-related genes (IRGs) play crucial role in its development. Our study aimed to identify prognostic immune biomarkers of pediatric ALL and construct a risk assessment model.
Methods: Pediatric ALL patients' gene expression data were downloaded from Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Treatments (TARGET) database.
Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a common hematological malignancy. Gemtuzumab ozogamicin (GO), a humanized anti-CD33 antibody conjugated with the potent anti-tumor antibiotic calicheamicin, represents a promising targeted therapy for AML.
