The 1/r long-range interaction, induced by laser illumination, offers a mechanism for the implementation of stable self-trapping in Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) in the three-dimensional free space. Using the variational approximation and numerical solutions, we find that self-trapped states in this setting, with attractive nonlocal and repulsive local interactions, resemble tightly bound compactons. However, these are not true compactons but rather tightly self-trapped modes (TSTMs), with small-amplitude nonvanishing tails.

The development of novel catalysts for the rapid detoxification of sulfur mustard holds paramount importance in the field of military defense. In this work, titanium dioxide-phosphomolybdic acid sub-1 nm nanobelts (TiO/PMA SNBs) are employed as effective catalysts for the ultra-fast degradation of mustard gas simulants (2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide, CEES) with 100% selectivity and a half-life (t, time required for 50% conversion) as short as 12 s, which is the fastest time to the best of the knowledge. Even in dark conditions, this material can still achieve over 90% conversion within 5 min.

This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the MBSR program on psychological states and QoL in lung cancer patients.
Methods: Eligible studies published before November 2021 were systematically searched from PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, PsycINFO, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang databases.
Purpose: The aims of the study were first to investigate the association between illness perception and psychological distress and second to determine whether mindfulness affects psychological distress illness perception and perceived stress in patients with lung cancer.
Methods: Among 300 patients with lung cancer who participated in this cross-sectional study, 295 patients made valid responses to distress thermometer (DT), the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (B-IPQ), and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) between January and July 2021. The possible pathways of mindfulness affecting psychological distress were analyzed based on the structural equation modeling analysis.
Background: CTCs play a critical role in the diagnosis and prognosis of liver cancer. However, there are few studies on whether different types of CTCs can predict the prognosis in patients with HCC following LT.
Methods: Retrospective data including CTCs detected by the CanPatrolTM platform combined with RNA-ISH were collected and analyzed on 56 patients from December 2016 to December 2019 at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China.
Currently, a significant proportion of cancer patients do not benefit from programmed cell death-1 (PD-1)-targeted therapy. Overcoming drug resistance remains a challenge. In this study, single-cell RNA sequencing and bulk RNA sequencing data from samples collected before and after anti-PD-1 therapy were analyzed.

Purpose: Microvascular invasion (MVI) is a valuable predictor of survival in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. This study developed predictive models using eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) and deep learning based on CT images to predict MVI preoperatively.
Methods: In total, 405 patients were included.
The aim of the present study was to examine the role of sirtuin 3 (Sirt3)‑autophagy in regulating myocardial energy metabolism and inhibiting myocardial hypertrophy in angiotensin (Ang) II‑induced myocardial cell hypertrophy. The primary cultured myocardial cells of neonatal Sprague Dawley rats were used to construct a myocardial hypertrophy model induced with Ang II. Following the activation of Sirt3 by resveratrol (Res), Sirt3 was silenced using small interfering (si)RNA‑Sirt3, and the morphology of the myocardial cells was observed under an optical microscope.
