Low and moderate concentrations represent the predominant forms of mercury pollution in contaminated regions. Nevertheless, the responses of soil microbial communities to these pollution levels are still poorly understood. Here, under field conditions, we evaluated the impact of long-term exposure to low and moderate Hg pollution (0.

Advanced energy storage systems play a critical role in energy capture, storage, and release across applications like smart devices, electrified transportation, renewable energy, and green power grids. However, the development of energy storage devices with large capacity, long lifespan, and high power density is hindered by challenges related to electrochemically active materials. Traditional electrode materials-such as graphite, metal oxides, polymers, and simple composites-suffer from poor electrical conductivity, unstable structures, slow ionic diffusion, and limited active site utilization during charge-discharge cycles.

Previous studies have highlighted inconsistencies in the predictive performance of existing indices, such as ROX and mROX, which are limited by their reliance on oxygenation parameters alone. To address this, we developed a machine learning-based predictive model using temporal data from AHRF patients, aimed at facilitating quicker development of individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies for healthcare professionals.

The results demonstrated that the synergistic treatment significantly improved starch solubility while reducing swelling power and viscosity. SEM revealed enhanced surface porosity, fissures, and decreased particle size.

In order to observe the corona and provide space weather warning in time, the stray-light suppression performance with a field-of-view (FOV) of 2.5 ( stands for the mean solar radius) for coronagraphs should be suppressed to 10 ( is the mean brightness of the solar disk).

This study investigated and evaluated the network structure constructed by the interaction of soybean 7S globulin (7S) with rice proteins (RPs), and the improvement of dough. These structural modifications were fully validated by the rice bread system.

As a dominant crop in the plateau, hulless barley (HB) occupies an important position in traditional diets due to its unique growth adaptability and nutrition characteristics. It has attracted increasing attention due to its excellent health characteristics, including antioxidant activity, blood glucose regulation, gastrointestinal health improvement, prevention of chronic diseases, and anti-fatigue effects. However, due to structural defects or substantial nutrient loss during processing and poor palatability of HB products, it is urgent to enhance the functional characteristics by modification methods.

This study aimed to objectively evaluate iliac bone regeneration, volumetric changes, and patient outcomes using 3D digital technology.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis included 16 pediatric patients (8-12 y) undergoing unilateral alveolar cleft repair.
Preoperative surgical planning for alar reduction remains challenging due to the lack of objective references in traditional measurements. Therefore, this study aimed to objectively quantify preoperative bilateral alar symmetry using 3D best-fit alignment analysis, and to establish an evidence-based threshold for alar morphological deviation for alar reduction in secondary cleft rhinoplasty. 26 patients with unilateral secondary cleft nasal deformity were retrospectively assessed: 13 underwent secondary cleft rhinoplasty alone and 13 received concurrent alar reduction.

Through enzymatic bioconversion of soy protein-a major agro-industrial byproduct-we identified four PTP1B-inhibitory peptides (D-8-N, K-8-F, K-11-M, D-10-E) using cell hypoglycemic activity-guided purification and in silico screening. Molecular dynamics and docking suggested allosteric inhibition via hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interactions, and hydrophobic forces.

Background: Secondary alveolar bone grafting (SABG) is a critical intervention for restoring anatomical integrity and functional capacity in patients with alveolar clefts. Despite advancements in surgical techniques and imaging, the optimal indicator for postoperative outcome evaluation remains undefined.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 126 patients with unilateral alveolar clefts who underwent SABG between 2016 and 2023 were analyzed.
Rice is a vital staple food, with starch as its primary component, providing essential energy. However, starch retrogradation negatively impacts the sensory and storage quality of rice starch and its products, limiting their use and development. Although various factors influencing starch retrogradation are well-documented, there has been limited systematic research on its mechanism and detection techniques.

However, limited studies have focused on the formation of multiple chiral isomer pairs from monomolecular species and the exploration of more strategies for stimulating-isomerization. Herein, we characterize chiral behavior of methylcyano-functionalized molecules upon adsorption on Au(111) and elucidate theirtoisomerization.

A river plume indicates the dispersion and transport path of pollutants from runoff, monitoring the spatiotemporal variation of river plume distribution from space is crucial for marine environmental governance. This study focuses on the Pearl River Plume (PRP), and takes the Pearl River Delta coastal waters, China as study area. We developed a machine learning-based sea surface salinity (SSS) estimation algorithm for the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on-board the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership satellite (SNPP), leveraging extensive field-measured SSS data from the study area.
