Scalable and effective cryopreservation of human immune cells and biological samples is challenging for advanced cellular therapeutics. However, current cryoprotectants are limited due to trade-offs between robust ice inhibition and uniform thermal management to mitigate Ostwald ripening. Herein, we develop a nonpermeable nanocryoprotectant (PVA@PPy) by combining antifreezing poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) with photothermal polypyrrole (PPy).

Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) is a complex and emotionally distressing condition defined by the occurrence of two or more consecutive miscarriages before 20 weeks of gestation. The exact causes of RPL remain unclear, despite extensive research into its genetic, immune, and environmental underpinnings. Recent advances in epigenetics have revealed that alterations in DNA methylation, histone modifications, and non-coding RNA expression play crucial roles in regulating pregnancy-related processes such as immune tolerance, placental development, and embryo implantation.

Radiation-induced oral mucositis (RIOM) is the most common oral complication faced by patients with head and neck cancer undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy, significantly diminishing their quality of life. While previous studies have investigated single K12 probiotics for RIOM, they often lacked stability, free radical scavenging activity, and precise oral targeting. To overcome these challenges, we developed K12@Lip@GSH, an innovative oral probiotic that encapsulates K12 within liposomes to enhance stability and scavenging efficacy, while utilizing a glutathione (GSH) transporter-mediated targeting mechanism that exploits the favorable the overexpression of GSH transporters in RIOM.

In rodent models of SCI, neural stem cell (NSC) transplantation has demonstrated significant potential in restoring motor function and enhancing neural repair. Additionally, extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMFs) have demonstrated efficacy in promoting nerve regeneration and activating spinal circuits.

However, the clinical efficacy of CAR T cells remains limited by poor tumor infiltration. Here, we identify NSCLC-specific overexpression of the CXCL13 and CCL20 chemokines within the tumor microenvironment (TME) and develop a dual chemokine receptor strategy to overcome this barrier.

Here, we develop a phenoxazine-modified helical boron-dipyrromethene () and manipulate its aggregation state to enhance the O generation efficiency. It demonstrates that under the moderately aggregated state, affords the highest O generation capability with a quantum yield of 53%.

Background And Purpose: The aetiology of recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is multifactorial, with immune factors playing a critical role. Gut microbiota and its metabolites have been found to participate in host immune regulation. This study explores the role of gut microbiota-derived short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in immune tolerance in RSA.

Diabetes mellitus (DM), a chronic metabolic disease, poses a significant challenge to global health. Although type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and other types of diabetes mellitus differ in pathological mechanisms, they converge in that hyperglycemia is a universal clinical hallmark. Currently, the antidiabetic medications employed in clinical practice for blood glucose management require long-term administration and are associated with various side effects that can adversely impact human health.

Monocyte-derived macrophages, which are characterized by high heterogeneity and plasticity, are recruited, activated, and polarized throughout the process of renal fibrosis in response to the local microenvironment. Increasing evidence suggests that phenotypic changes in macrophages are essential for chronic kidney disease (CKD) development and progression.

In organic reactions, controlling the degree of substitution, such as monosubstitution or disubstitution, typically necessitates the use of varied reagents, reaction conditions, and temperatures, often leading to increased separation costs. Simplifying this complexity while developing more direct and efficient methods for controlling reaction outcomes remains a long-standing challenge. In this work, we present a novel and efficient electrochemical strategy that leverages the precise control of electrode potential to selectively halogenate aniline derivatives, offering a breakthrough in the reaction selectivity.

Ten novel biphenyl derivatives were synthesized, incorporating trifluoromethyl (CF) and fluorine (F) substitutions, to evaluate their efficacy against various bacterial strains, including Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus pneumoniae. Antimicrobial assays demonstrated that the F substitution significantly enhanced antibacterial activity, with the bis-F derivative (5D) showing improved potency compared to the other compounds.
