The High Velocity Compaction (HVC) process is simulated by numerical simulation. The distribution and change rules of particle movement are observed from different angles; the change rules of particle normal velocities at different positions in the particle sample are analyzed; the formation process of force chains under impact is observed; and the change rules of contact forces between particles at different positions are analyzed.

Although photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a promising anticancer treatment method, its clinical application in GBM is limited by poor light penetration through the skull and insufficient drug delivery across the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Here, an innovative magnetic continuum robot (MCR)-mediated intracranial PDT strategy is proposed.

To demonstrate practical utility, we developed a trifluorophore system capable of simultaneously quantifying eight distinct nucleic acids using flow cytometry with just two excitation channels and three emission channels. This plug-and-play strategy enables concurrent encoding and target detection, significantly simplifying the workflow.

Background: Growing evidence links gut microbial dysbiosis to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) pathogenesis, establishing fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) as a microbiota-targeted therapy; however, variable outcomes in randomized trials highlight the need to identify compositional features of donor microbiota associated with FMT efficacy.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate how the composition of the donor gut microbiota influences the therapeutic efficacy of FMT in IBD.
Method: Fecal DNA from 39 IBD patients and 42 healthy donors was analyzed via 16S rRNA sequencing.
Introduction: It is challenging to diagnose liver masses in the context of a rough liver background using computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Perfluorobutane CEUS microbubble, an ultrasound (US) contrast agent, has a unique phase called the Kupffer phase. This study aimed to explore whether the diagnostic ability of Kupffer-CEUS is affected by the rough liver background.

Background: Oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remains a highly aggressive malignancy with limited biomarkers for monitoring tumour burden and prognosis. Circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) has emerged as a promising tool for real-time disease assessment, but its clinical utility in ESCC remains underexplored.
Methods: In this prospective cohort study, we analysed preoperative and postoperative ctDNA from 54 treatment-naïve ESCC patients undergoing radical surgery using a 61-gene panel.

Objective: To investigate the influencing factors of pathological positive surgical margins (PSM) after radical resection of prostate cancer.
Methods: The clinical data of 407 patients who underwent radical resection of prostate cancer in our hospital from 2011 to 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. And the patients were divided into two groups according to postoperative pathological results.
Non-coding RNA activated by DNA damage (NORAD) has been found to enhance proliferation and metastasis of cancer cells. Ferroptosis is characterized by excess lipid peroxidation and has been confirmed to eliminate cancer cells. However, the specific role of NORAD in cancer and ferroptosis is not clear.

Materials And Methods: From May 2021 to December 2022, we performed a modified dissection technique to create a retroperitoneal working space prior retroperitoneal laparoscopic surgery in 47 patients. The retroperitoneum is initially accessed by puncturing the trocar through a 10-mm transverse skin incision in the midaxillary line.

The folding conformation of native protein has flexibility in different degrees, which may bring difficulty in presenting the structures, and also it causes complexity in understanding the relationship between structure and functions. Although many methods and databases provide information for intrinsically disordered protein (IDP), they are mainly limited to determining the intrinsically disordered regions (IDR) lacking knowledge of possible folding patterns. To overcome the barrier, the protein structure fingerprint technology has been developed, which includes PFSC (Protein Folding Shape Code) (Yang, 2008) and PFVM (Protein Folding Variation Matrix) (Yang et al.

Here, we report a simple, versatile, and plug-and-play bead encoding strategy, which uses bead surface DNA encoding instead of a dye-doped strategy. This is a fluorophore-quencher (F-Q) distance encoded strategy through the different Q-labeled positions at the DNA duplex, thereby changing the FRET efficiency.

Conventional water quality monitoring sensors face challenges in achieving ultrafast response time and are non-recyclable. We present a self-assembly approach for a closed-loop recyclable, autonomous self-healing and transparent dielectric material with nanostructured amphiphobic surfaces (termed 'ReSURF').

The investigation indicated that the mild, efficient, low-cost, and low-toxic synthesis strategy could proceed smoothly without the aid of light, a metal catalyst, or an expensive photocatalyst. There is an intramolecular free-radical coupling step in a possible mechanistic pathway.

By engineering vertically stratified DNA scaffolds on paramagnetic microspheres, we achieved orthogonal spectral separation of 2-3 fluorophores through spatial confinement, generating 96 distinct two-color and 536 three-color barcodes via tunable stoichiometric control. We validated the platform's utility for nucleic acid multiplexing by demonstrating simultaneous detection of multiple targets, establishing a foundation for scalable high-order multiplexing.

Oil-contaminated wastewater represents a major source of industrial pollution, posing significant risks to both the environment and human health. Traditional oil-water separation methods, including gravity separation, centrifugal separation, and air flotation, are limited by their processing efficiency and scope of applicability. In recent years, innovative oil-water separation technologies have gained considerable attention, particularly those utilizing adsorption, filtration, and membrane separation, owing to their high efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The aquatic ecosystem is affected by both human activities and climate change, and the excessive input and imbalance of nitrogen (N) have become an environmental issue of global concern. In this study, based on metagenomic sequencing, network analysis, random forest and structural equation model were used to investigate the hydroperiod dynamics, driving mechanisms of N cycling and the coupling effects of N, carbon (C) and sulfur (S) cycling in the Weihe River. The results showed that the nitrogen concentration and pathways exhibited heterogeneity during the high, normal and low water periods.

Background: The pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) involves abnormal activation and interactions among various cell types. Purpose: This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the effects of natural products on key cell types in RA.
The achievement of regio- and monoselective control is a fundamental challenge for the development of efficient B-H functionalization of polyhedral carboranes bearing multiple chemically similar B-H bonds. While -polyhedral B-H activation of zwitterionic -carboranes has witnessed remarkable progress, developing direct functionalization methods for the closed polyhedral B-H bonds remains a significant challenge. Herein, we report the development of a regioselective B(2)-H monoalkylation of -carboranes enabled by a novel pyridyl directing group containing a NH group that can form a favorable macrocyclic intramolecular H-bonding interaction with the alkyl substituent.
