Broadband anisotropic photodetectors show great promise for polarization-sensitive imaging and multispectral optoelectronic systems yet face critical challenges in material anisotropy modulation and broadband sensitivity. Weyl semimetals exhibit giant optical anisotropy and tunable heterojunction band alignment, enabling high-performance anisotropic photodetection. Herein, ultrabroadband PDs based on the NbNiTe (niobium nickel telluride), enabled by antenna integration and heterostructure engineering, achieve high sensitivity from visible to Terahertz (THz).

Background: Patients on dialysis often suffer from carnitine deficiency due to reduced intake, reduced synthesis in the kidneys, and clearing through dialysis. Carnitine deficiency may lead to anemia, cardiomyopathy, hypotension, and so on. Several studies have shown that supplementing with L-carnitine can diminish the above symptoms in adult dialysis patients, but whether children can benefit from L-carnitine remains unclear.

We investigate the majorization order for comparing wave coherence and reveal its fundamental consequences in transport measurements, including power distribution, absorption, transmission, and reflection. We prove that all these measurements preserve the majorization order under unitary control, enabling direct experimental characterization of the majorization order. Specifically, waves with lower coherence in the majorization order exhibit more restricted ranges of achievable measurement values.

High levels of asparagine synthetase (ASNS) in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) lead to immunotherapy resistance. Our study showed that ASNS overexpression (OE) in NALM6-GL cancer cells attenuated chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell-mediated cancer cell lysis. Asparaginase (ASPG) is an approved drug that breaks down circulating asparagine in leukemia cells, thereby depriving cancer cells of asparagine and inhibiting cancer growth.

We presented a portable lensfree imaging platform that can achieve complex wavefield reconstruction with multi-distance intensity measurements. In our platform, 400 LEGO bricks and a bare CMOS sensor chip are integrated into a lensfree in-line holographic imaging system, where a motor and a set of gear modules from LEGO are designed to control the axial movement of a sample to generate multi-plane intensity patterns. In data processing, the intensity images are calculated in a computer to show the retrieved amplitude and phase of the sample.

Lensless wavelength-multiplexed microscopy provides an effective imaging solution for single-frame wavefield recovery, in which three lasers with different wavelengths simultaneously illuminate a sample to capture a color hologram. In data processing, the recorded color hologram is divided into three intensity images and then input into multi-wavelength phase retrieval (MWPR) for image recovery. However, the performance of MWPR on data-reduced measurements, such as dual-wavelength imaging, is undermined by the stagnant convergence.

The occurrence and development of malignant tumors involve abnormalities in complex molecular regulatory networks, among which the abnormal activation of the transcriptional regulator hairy and enhancer of split 1 (Hes1) has attracted significant attention in recent years and is closely associated with prognosis in various malignancies. Hes1 exhibits high expression in various solid tumors and hematological malignancies, where it participates in alterations involving diverse immune cells, inflammatory factors, and the immune microenvironment, thereby promoting tumor cell proliferation, invasion, metastasis, and resistance to treatment. Recent studies have widely investigated the potential of targeting Hes1 and inhibiting its expression as a cancer therapeutic strategy, although its precise mechanisms of action are not yet fully elucidated.

As a major fuel source for the tricarboxylic acid cycle, lactate controls energy metabolism through cell-to-cell or tissue-to-tissue lactate shuttles via monocarboxylate transporters (MCTs). Although lactate is shown to influence macrophage functions via histone lactylation, the specific functions of MCTs in macrophages remain incompletely understood. This study discovers that MCT1 and MCT4 have contrasting effects on regulating macrophage polarization.
