Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is a persistent organic pollutant with a global presence in water, air, and soil resources. Herein, a water-stable amine-functionalized lanthanide metal-organic framework () is utilized for ratiometric luminescence detection of PFOA. In the presence of PFOA, there is an increase in the emission intensity of the organic ligand, while the characteristic luminescence intensity of Eu ions decreases, accompanied by a distinct emission color change from red to blue.

Non-Hermitian systems have recently shown new possibilities to manipulate wave scattering by exploiting loss, yet coherent perfect absorption at an exceptional point (CPA EP) remains elusive in acoustics. Here, we demonstrate it based on a two-channel waveguide with compact lossy resonators. We realize imbalanced losses crucial for CPA EP by using active components to independently modulate the non-Hermiticity.

The TyG-ABSI index is a newly proposed composite measure that combines the TyG index and ABSI, aiming to assess both insulin resistance and central obesity simultaneously. Previous studies have shown that TyG-ABSI has potential in predicting cardiovascular mortality, but its applicability in MetS populations remains unclear.

This study explored how soil aggregate structural reorganization influences the spatial distribution, chemical speciation, and release behavior of exogenous Cu. Aggregates with and without structural reorganization were prepared.

Methods: All data from the Global Burden of Diseases (GBD) 2021 were stratified by age, sex, location, and socio-demographic index (SDI). We performed comprehensive analysis to reveal trends for EOPD, utilizing average annual percentage change (AAPC), joinpoint regression analysis, health inequality analysis, frontier analysis, and Bayesian age-period-cohort (BAPC) models.
Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) influent pose potential global risk to public health. However, the spatiotemporal distribution of global influent ARGs, the highly prevalent core ARGs components, and their transmission mechanisms remain unclear. The resistance risk ranking integrating abundance, mobility, and pathogenicity in actual influent samples is still undefined.

This study proposes a novel use of natural psyllium seed gum (PG) as a foam stabilizer for CO foam flooding technology. A comparative analysis with polyacrylamide and xanthan gum demonstrates the effectiveness of PG in improving foam performance while elucidating its stabilization mechanism.

Prenatal genetic evaluation plays a critical role in guiding pregnancy management. This study aimed to evaluate genetic findings and pregnancy outcomes in first-occurrence fetal OFCs using conventional karyotyping and SNP array analysis.

Background: Gastric cancer (GC) represents a considerable health risk, characterized by a poor 5-year survival rate of approximately 8%. Using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), this study investigated the function of calcium signaling-related genes in the context of GC.
Methods: The RNA sequencing data and clinical characteristic data of GC patients were retrieved from TCGA database.
Objective: This study aims to present updated convergent analyses and data following systematic review and meta-analysis protocols to determine the effects of high-load resistance training (HL-RT) combined with blood flow restriction (BFR) on athletes' physiological adaptations (muscle strength and body composition) and athletic performance (power, speed, and endurance).
Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted using Boolean operators with keyword combinations in PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase for studies published up to February 2025. Methodological quality was assessed via the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool.

Sustainable detoxification and advanced treatment of toxic organic pollutants (TOPs) in wastewater are essential for water reclamation and ecosystem security. Although biological treatment is a low-carbon and eco-friendly approach for TOPs degradation, its effectiveness is often limited by the high toxicity and recalcitrance of TOPs. Oxidative and reductive reactions can degrade TOPs according to their intrinsic redox potentials.

These environments are generally monitored by various types of sensors that produce complex, high-dimensional time-series data with intricate cross-sensor dependencies. While existing methods often utilize sequence modeling or graph neural networks to capture global sensor relationships, they typically treat all sensors uniformly-potentially overlooking the benefit of grouping sensors with similar temporal patterns.

In this study, the property prediction models for density, surface tension, kinematic viscosity, dynamic viscosity, and flash point of diesel were developed by the feedforward neural network method utilizing the fuel distillation curve (T-T) as light and heavy composition distribution characteristics and the refractive index as the average composition characteristic. The applicability of the method across hydrocarbon mixtures of diesel and gasoline-kerosene-diesel fractions was explored. 92 surrogate diesel samples, ranging from binary to septenary mixtures, were prepared, and their refractive index, distillation curve, density, flash point, and surface tension were measured.

Using CdSe QDs as a model system, It is shown for the first time that samples from both heating-up and hot-injection approaches may contain the PNC. When a sample is dispersed in cyclohexane (CH) or toluene (Tol) at 25 °C, the nucleation and growth (N/G) of small QDs takes place.

Background: The harmonic scalpel (HS) and cavitron ultrasonic surgical aspirator (CUSA) are two common techniques for liver parenchymal transection (LPT). The second International Consensus Conference on laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) recommended the utilization of the HS for superficial layer LPT and the CUSA for deep layer LPT. Some centers currently employ the HS for deep-layer LPT.
