Timely provision of pest risk alerts - that is, the optimum time to intervene against key pests before invasion or establishment - to smallholder farmers on pest management could improve farm performance. However, there is little quantitative evidence testing this hypothesis.

Estimating Health State Utilities for IDH-Mutant Diffuse Glioma.

Background: Isocitrate dehydrogenase-mutant (mIDH) gliomas are malignant central nervous system tumours. After initial resection, patients with mIDH gliomas with favourable prognosis may live without receiving oncologic treatment for years, but ultimately patients will experience recurrence and require radio- and/or chemotherapy (RT/CT). Cost-utility analyses (CUA) can explore the value of treatments that delay recurrence and initiation of RT/CT.

Diagnostic reference level curves for paediatric fluoroscopic imaging in the Netherlands.

Objectives: Establishing paediatric DRLs is challenging due to sparse data availability. The objective was to assess paediatric fluoroscopic dose levels in Dutch clinical practice, as current diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) need updating following the European Guidelines on DRLs for Paediatric Imaging (PiDRL).

GABA receptor availability in clinical high-risk and first-episode psychosis: a [C]Ro15-4513 positron emission tomography study.

Disrupted gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) neurotransmission may contribute to the pathophysiology of schizophrenia. Reductions in hippocampal GABAergic neurons have been found in schizophrenia, and increased hippocampal perfusion has been described in schizophrenia and in people at clinical high-risk for psychosis (CHRp). We have also found decreases in hippocampal GABA receptors containing the α5 subunit (GABARα5) in a well-validated neurodevelopmental rat model of relevance for schizophrenia.

Chronic kidney disease and incident cancer risk: an individual participant data meta-analysis.

Background: Studies examining the association of chronic kidney disease (CKD) with cancer risk have demonstrated conflicting results.

Methods: This was an individual participant data meta-analysis including 54 international cohorts contributing to the CKD Prognosis Consortium. Included cohorts had data on albuminuria [urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR)], estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), overall and site-specific cancer incidence, and established risk factors for cancer.

Leadership is increasingly recognised as an essential non-technical skill for effective surgical practice, particularly in oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) due to its multidisciplinary nature and clinical scope. The aim of this review is to identify current leadership development opportunities available to UK OMFS specialty trainees, evaluate their sufficiency, and propose areas for improvement. A comprehensive search of published and grey literature was conducted, screening 2796 articles, with 18 meeting the inclusion criteria.

With the deep digital transformation of traditional manufacturing industry and the continuous automation level improvement of production lines, it is more important to predict the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of processes in a timely and accurate manner. The traditional laboratory destructive test method for obtaining KPIs consumes a large amount of time and incurs high costs, which not only fails to provide timely and effective guidance for production processes but also results in significant losses for manufacturing enterprises. To address these issues, an online prediction soft sensor model for KPIs based on a serial-parallel gated recurrent unit with self-attention mechanism (SPGRU-SA) soft sensor model is proposed.

Developing a collaborative network for cystic fibrosis in Africa: A call to action.

Background: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that remains underrecognized across Africa, where limited diagnostic capacity, low awareness, and competing health priorities contribute to delayed or missed diagnoses [1-4]. Although increasing data suggests CF is more prevalent than previously believed in Africa, survival remains poor [1]. These challenges do not only affect people with CF (pwCF) in Africa but also have implications for global understanding of the disease, particularly among populations historically excluded from CF research and treatment advances.

Guidelines for Meta-analyses and Systematic Reviews in Urology.

Our guideline comprises points addressing the conduct and interpretation of systematic reviews and meta-analyses in urology. Application of the guideline would lead to a more considered interpretation of a smaller number of systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and could thus help in translating evidence into better decision-making for doctors and patients.

Although the terms personalized medicine and precision medicine are frequently utilized interchangeably, it is essential to delineate the subtle distinctions between them.

Emerging evidence indicates that apelin, an adipokine, plays a critical role in numerous biological functions and may hold potential for therapeutic applications; however, its efficacy is constrained by rapid plasma degradation. Thus, the search for novel apelin analogues with reduced susceptibility to plasma degradation is ongoing. We have previously shown novel modified apelin-13 analogues, providing exciting opportunities for potential therapeutic development against Alzheimer's disease.
