Background: Late-life depression (LLD) is associated with negative outcomes including high rates of recurrence and cognitive decline. However, the neurobiological changes influencing such outcomes in LLD are not well understood. Disequilibrium in large-scale brain networks may contribute to LLD-related cognitive decline.

The interthalamic adhesion, or massa intermedia, is a midline bridge of neural tissue connecting the thalami across the third ventricle and usually containing the nucleus reuniens. It is important radiologically and neurosurgically: accessing the third ventricle or structures through the third ventricle, endoscopic surgery at third ventricle. We aim to consolidate current knowledge on the interthalamic adhesion, focusing on its morphology, nomenclature, development, histology, connections and anatomical variations to clarify longstanding inconsistencies.

Seeds of Sophora japonica in Nanjing during the recommended period typically exhibit permeable seed coats. It is imperative to comprehend the water absorption characteristics of the permeable seeds, as water uptake represents a critical step in seed germination. This study employed an integrated approach combining blocking experiments, scanning electron microscopy, staining tests, and magnetic resonance imaging to investigate water entry sites and movement patterns in permeable seeds.

Objective: Semiology-based preoperative anatomical hypotheses are necessary, yet comprehensive reports on the semiology and its correlation with central subregions in central epilepsy has still lacked. We wished to identify semiologic subgroups and their correlations with central subregions.
Methods: We retrospectively included 21 patients with central epilepsy identified by stereoelectroencephalography (sEEG).
