Managing root caries with silver diamine fluoride, sodium fluoride and direct restorations: A cost-effectiveness analysis.

Objective: To assess the cost-effectiveness of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) relative to sodium fluoride (NaF) and traditional resin-modified glass ionomer cements (RMGIC) restorations for the management of root caries in older adults aged 60 and above.

Methods: A Markov model design was chosen and two models were constructed: 1) Clinic-based model - with access to dental facility that allows for placement of traditional restorations, 2) Community-based model - without access to dental facility due to mobility, lack of executive function, or financial barriers. Parent expectations and student's academic self-concepts contribute to this link; however, few studies have examined how changes in these constructs over time contribute to SES gaps in attainment and how teachers may buffer against the consequences of these changes.

Systematic characterization of the molecular states of cells in livestock tissues is essential for understanding the cellular and genetic mechanisms underlying economically and ecologically important physiological traits. Here, as part of the Farm Animal Genotype-Tissue Expression (FarmGTEx) project, we describe a comprehensive reference map including 1,793,854 cells from 59 bovine tissues in calves and adult cattle, spanning both sexes, which reveals intra-tissue and inter-tissue cellular heterogeneity in gene expression, transcription factor regulation and intercellular communication. Integrative analysis with genetic variants that underpin bovine monogenic and complex traits uncovers cell types of relevance, such as spermatocytes, responsible for sperm motility and excitatory neurons for milk fat yield.

Robust evidence, based on large sample sizes from real-world clinical settings, are needed to investigate the use of these new therapies, However, adequate sample sizes of patient data are difficult to obtain within one country alone, requiring international collaboration and data aggregation. To address this need for cooperative research, we investigated the feasibility for an international collaboration of registries to gather data from real-world clinical settings on patients' use of new systemic treatments for AD by creating a federated network between national registries that enables an analysis environment protecting privacy of information and ensuring compliance with General Data Protection Regulation.

Life cycle assessment of large-scale integrated organic crop-egg production in Brazil.

Integrated crop-livestock systems combine feed production with animal production as separate, but interconnected operations. This study presents the first Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of a large scale, integrated, organic egg production system in Brazil and the first worldwide assessment of a large-scale integrated crop-poultry system. This research provides insights into eco-efficiency, offering guidance for sustainable practices in Brazil and beyond.
