Introduction: The present study was undertaken to elucidate the expression status and molecular mechanism underlying microRNA-3127-5p (miR-3127-5p) in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Material And Methods: A total of 50 PCOS and 50 non-PCOS patients were recruited as research subjects. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was employed to assess the relative abundances of miR-3127-5p in serum, cumulus cells (CCs), and granulosa cells (GCs) from PCOS patients.

Background: Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) has a lymph node metastasis rate of 20%-90%. This study aims to explore the role and regulatory mechanism of the FAM27E3 in PTC lymph node metastasis.

Method: The seven thyroid cancer (THCA) datasets from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) were combined as the training group, while the PTC dataset served as the testing group.

Background: As digital technology becomes increasingly embedded in daily life, digital isolation among older adults has become more pronounced. This isolation may restrict access to health information and social support, potentially leading to poorer sleep quality. However, most existing studies on digital isolation and sleep disorders were cross-sectional, lacking longitudinal evidence to establish causality.

Background: Facet joint-mediated pain represents a major etiology of chronic spinal pain, posing persistent challenges in clinical management. We propose a novel technique-Feng's technique-which provides a novel and effective strategy for the treatment of facet joint-related pain.

Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 221 patients with cervical and lumbar facet joint pain treated between May 2020 and December 2021.

Background: Radiomics analyzes quantitative features from medical images to reveal tumor heterogeneity, offering new insights for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment prediction. This study explored radiomics based biomarkers to predict immunotherapy response and its association with the tumor microenvironment in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) using unsupervised machine learning models derived from CT imaging.

Materials And Methods: This study included 1539 NSCLC patients from seven independent cohorts.

Background: Craniofacial postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), though relatively uncommon, presents significant clinical challenges through chronic headache and facial pain manifestations. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for craniofacial zoster-related pain.

Methods: A total of 91 patients with cephalofacial PHN admitted to the Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University from January 2023 and December 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) exhibits marked clinical heterogeneity, limiting the prognostic accuracy of traditional staging. We developed an unsupervised radiomics-based subtyping system integrating multi-omics data to decode tumor biology and improve risk stratification. Analyzing five cohorts (n = 1700, including surgical cohorts and an advanced ccRCC cohort receiving combined tyrosine kinase inhibitor and immunotherapy [T-I] treatment), we extracted 1834 CT radiomic features, applying consensus clustering to a discovery cohort (n = 748) and validating across centers.

Recompensation after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt reduces mortality risk: A long-term follow-up study.

Eur J Radiol

September 2025

Department of Radiology, Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430022, China; Hubei Province Key Laboratory of Molecular Imaging, Wuhan 430022, China. Electronic address:

Objective: This study aims to analyze the occurrence of recompensation after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) for patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension and its impact on mortality risk.

Methods: The clinical data of 621 cirrhotic patients who underwent TIPS creation were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were categorized into a recompensation group (n = 126) and a non-recompensation group (n = 495).

Background: Studies have suggested that folate may mitigate the impact of exposure to environmental chemicals. We aimed to explore the relationship between blood folate biomarker concentrations and urine phthalate metabolites.

Methods: Based on data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey spanning 2005 to 2016, 8,218 participants with measurements of folate biomarkers in blood and phthalates exposure in urine were included.

Cadmium induces autophagy via IRE1 signaling pathway activated by Ca in GC-2spd cells.

Reprod Toxicol

August 2025

School of Public Health, Hubei Province Key Laboratory of Occupational Hazard Identification and Control, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, China. Electronic address:

Cadmium (Cd), an environmental toxicant, accumulates in the human body and damages the male reproductive system. To investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying Cd-induced reproductive toxicity, we used GC-2spd cells and treated them with CdCl. Additionally, we added 2-APB (an inhibitor of the IP3R) and STF-083010 (an inhibitor of IRE1) to investigate whether they could ameliorate Cd-induced reproductive toxicity.

The predictive function of miR-122-5p and its action mechanism by regulating PKM2 in metabolic syndrome.

BMC Endocr Disord

February 2025

Department of Endocrinology, Huanggang Central Hospital Affiliated to Yangtze University, No.6, Qi'an Avenue, Huangzhou District, Huanggang, Hubei Province, 438000, China.

Background: Obesity will cause metabolic syndrome (Mets) easily, and its pathogenesis is not completely clear.

Aim: To probe into the predictive value of miR-122-5p and its regulatory mechanism in Mets.

Method: The predictive effect of miR-122-5p on Mets was evaluated by constructing a Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve.

Article Synopsis
  • A study was conducted on 92 patients with neurodermatitis to evaluate the effects of a combined treatment using fluocinolone acetonide cream and guaiazulene compared to fluocinolone alone.
  • Results showed that the experimental group experienced significant improvements in skin symptoms, reduced itching scores, and a faster onset of treatment effects.
  • Although both treatments had similar overall efficacy rates, the quality of life for the experimental group improved more significantly, and they had fewer adverse reactions.
