Amorphous photocatalysts are characterized by numerous grain boundaries and abundant unsaturated sites, which enhance reaction efficiency from both kinetic and thermodynamic perspectives. However, amorphization strategies have rarely been used for photocatalytic CO reduction. Doping copper onto a metal-organic framework (MOF) surface can regulate the electronic structure of photocatalysts, promote electron transfer from the MOF to Cu, and improve the separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs.

GLS4 is a first-in-class hepatitis B virus (HBV) capsid assembly modulator (class I) that is co-administered with ritonavir to maintain the anticipated concentration required for the effective antiviral activity of GLS4. In this study, the first physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model for GLS4/ritonavir was successfully developed. The predictive performance of the PBPK model was verified using data from 39 clinical studies, including single-dose, multiple-dose, food effects, and drug-drug interactions (DDI).

Element doping has been demonstrated as a useful strategy to regulate the band gap and electronic structure of photocatalyst for improving photocatalytic activity. Herein, ZnInS (ZIS) nanosheets were doped with alkali metal ions (Li, Na or K) by a simple solution method. Experimental characterizations reveal that alkali metal ions doping reduce the band gap, raise the conduction band position, and improve surface hydrophilicity of ZIS.

Background: Metabolomics has the characteristics of terminal effects and reflects the physiological state of biological diseases more directly. Several current biomarkers of multiple omics were revealed to be associated with immune-related adverse events (irAEs) occurrence. However, there is a lack of reliable metabolic biomarkers to predict irAEs.

Artificial photosynthesis is an effective way of converting CO into fuel and high value-added chemicals. However, the sluggish interfacial electron transfer and adsorption of CO at the catalyst surface strongly hamper the activity and selectivity of CO reduction. Here, we report a photocathode attaching zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) onto a ZnTe surface to mimic an aquatic leaf featuring stoma and chlorophyll for efficient photoelectrochemical conversion of CO into CO.

The causal effect and pathways of gut microbiota and plasma metabolome on lung cancer have been important topics for personalized medicine; however, the heterogeneity of lung cancer subtypes has not gained enough attention in previous studies. This study sought to employ a Mendelian randomization analysis to screen the specific gut microbiota and plasma metabolome, which may have a causal effect on lung cancer. We further extended our analysis to estimate the effects of these exposures on various pathological subtypes of lung cancer.

The remarkable efficacy of cancer immunotherapy has been established in several tumor types. Of the various immunotherapies, PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors are most extensively used in the treatment of many cancers in clinics. These inhibitors restore the suppressed antitumor immune response and inhibit tumor progression by blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 signaling.

Currently, the microwave absorbers usually suffer dreadful electromagnetic wave absorption (EMWA) performance damping at elevated temperature due to impedance mismatching induced by increased conduction loss. Consequently, the development of high-performance EMWA materials with good impedance matching and strong loss ability in wide temperature spectrum has emerged as a top priority. Herein, due to the high melting point, good electrical conductivity, excellent environmental stability, EM coupling effect, and abundant interfaces of titanium nitride (TiN) nanotubes, they were designed based on the controlling kinetic diffusion procedure and Ostwald ripening process.

As a potential candidate for grid-scale energy storage technology, aqueous Zn-ion batteries (ZIBs) have attracted considerable attention due to their intrinsic safety, environmental friendliness, and ease of fabrication. Nevertheless, the road to industry for this technique is hindered by serious issues, including undesired side reactions, random growth of the Zn dendrites, electrode passivation, and anode corrosion, which are associated with the high reactivity of water molecules during the electrochemical reactions. These challenges are strongly dependent on electrolyte solvation chemistry (ESC), which subsequently determines the electrochemical behavior of the metal ions and water molecules on the electrode surface.

Porous graphitic carbon nitride microsphere with large specific surface area and controllable energy band structure is synthesized via a simple method with the supermolecule polymer of melamine-cyanuric acid (MCA) as the intermediates. The energy band structure and morphology of carbon nitride are closely correlative to the calcination time. And the CN-20 catalyst fabricated by calcination for 20 h exhibit superior photocatalytic activity of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) under visible-light (λ ≥ 420 nm) irradiation.

Promoting innate immunity through pyroptosis induction or the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of interferon gene (cGAS-STING) pathway activation has emerged as a potent approach to counteract the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and elicit systemic antitumor immunity. However, current pyroptosis inducers and STING agonists often suffer from limitations including instability, unpredictable side effects, or inadequate intracellular expression of gasdermin and STING. Here, a tumor-specific nanotheranostic platform that combines photodynamic therapy (PDT) with epigenetic therapy to simultaneously activate pyroptosis and the cGAS-STING pathway in a light-controlled manner is constructed.

Determination of pesticide residues remains a challenge in traditional Chinese medicines in which complex compounds may interfere with analysis signals. This study reports the development of a simple, effective, and high-throughput method combining gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) with either QuEChERS or solid phase extraction (SPE) to determine 147 pesticide residues in traditional Chinese medicines simultaneously. In SPE, the mixture of -hexane and ethyl acetate (1:1, v/v) was selected to extract 147 pesticides in honeysuckle, and the extracted pesticides were determined by GC-MS/MS.
