The misuse of nitrofuran antibiotics (NFAs) poses serious risks to food safety and human health. Thus, it is urgent to establish a rapid and sensitive method for detecting NFAs. In this work, a dual-emission fluorescent material (TbUDPA) was developed by embedding Tb in a Zr-MOF for rapid and sensitive detection of four NFAs, and it successfully detected nitrofurazone (NFZ) residues in real food samples with high recovery rates.

Methods: Thirty-three participants who needed oral soft tissue surgery, encompassing frenectomy and gingivectomy, were recruited and subsequently randomized into two groups including 14 in the experimental group and 19 in the control group. The experimental group was treated with thulium fiber laser, while the control group was treated with the diode laser (980 nm).
An analog joint source-channel coding (AJSCC) based on Shannon-Kotel'nikov (S-K) mapping transmitting discrete-time encoded samples in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems over wireless channel has exhibited excellent performance. However, the phenomenon of carrier frequency offset (CFO) caused by the frequency mismatch between the transmitter's and receiver's local oscillators often exists in actual scenarios; thus, in this paper the performance of AJSCC-OFDM with CFO is analyzed and the S-K mapping is optimized. A joint optimization strategy is developed to maximize the signal-to-distortion ratio (SDR) subject to CFO constraints.

2D transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDs) of monolayer molybdenum diselenide (MoSe) is an emerging semiconductor for next-generation electronics, owing to its remarkable physical and electronic properties. The realization of diverse device applications depends critically on the scalable synthesis of high-quality monolayer MoSe crystals, which remains challenging. In this study, the successful epitaxy of monolayer MoSe films is demonstrated on sapphire substrates at a maximum wafer size of 2 inches via a salt-assisted chemical vapor deposition (SA-CVD) technique.

Since obtaining brain tissue is challenging, most research has shifted to analyzing miRNAs in peripheral blood. One innovative solution is sequencing miRNAs in plasma extracellular vesicles (EVs), particularly those neural-derived EVs emanating from the brain.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent endocrine disorder that adversely affects women's reproductive and metabolic health conditions. Recent studies have highlighted the significant contributory role of gut microbiota in the pathogenesis of PCOS, indicating a complex interplay between the microbiome and the syndrome's clinical manifestations. Given this connection, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a well-established therapeutic approach, has demonstrated potential efficacy in modulating gut microbiota and alleviating symptoms associated with PCOS.

The direct contact between the bottom surface of perovskite and nickel oxide undergoes a redox reaction, which inevitably leads to perovskite degradation and strengthens the charge transport barrier. Herein, a 1-propenyl-2,3-dimethylimidazole hexafluorophosphate (PDMIMPF) molecule with bidirectional defect regulation has been developed.

Background: Numerous studies suggest that hyperactivation of the immuno-inflammatory system, as reflected in cytokine levels, is associated with more severe symptoms in mood and anxiety disorders and weaker response to treatment. Here we examined whether the efficacy of a combination of bright light therapy, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and medication is associated with another immuno-inflammatory index, white blood cell count, before and/or after treatment, in a retrospective observational study.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 467 inpatients with major depressive, bipolar, or generalized anxiety disorder who were treated with combination therapy for at least one week at Hangzhou Seventh People's Hospital between April 2022 and April 2024.

This study synthesized FeNiCuAlX high-entropy alloys (HEAs) (where X = Cr, Co, Mn) using arc melting and investigated their high-temperature oxidation behavior in air at 900 °C. The oxidation kinetics of all alloys followed a parabolic rate, with the oxidation rate constants (kp) of FeNiCuAlCr, FeNiCuAlCo, and FeNiCuAlMn being approximately two to three orders of magnitude lower than that of the FeNiCu alloy. Specifically, FeNiCuAlCr exhibited the lowest kp value of 1.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) on fatty acid metabolism through the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway in grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) adipocytes. Grass carp preadipocytes were cultured and treated with various concentrations of CLA (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 μmol/L). Lipid accumulation was assessed using Oil Red O staining.

Biochemical methane potential tests using active exogenous sludge confirmed that the inefficiency was due to intrinsic properties of the sludge rather than insufficient microbial activity. Alkaline thermal hydrolysis increased methane yield by 69 %, whereas the maximum output remained low (76 mL CH/g VS), suggesting heightened inhibition.

However, increasing evidence shows that high BMI (obesity) is not an accurate predictor of poor metabolic health in individuals. The molecular mechanisms regulating the metabolically activated M1 macrophage phenotype in the adipose tissues leading to insulin resistance remain largely unknown.

Methods: In a 7:3 ratio, 633 post-hepatectomy HCC patients were modeled and validated. Using 1561 radiomic features from two-dimensional shear wave elastography (2D-SWE), predictive models for the Comprehensive Complication Index (CCI) and recurrence were constructed, refined by LASSO regression, and integrated with clinical and pathologic data.

As classic chemical (acid and alkali) pretreatments could cause chemical waste liberation, this study performed optimal pretreatments with hot-FeCl for sequentially enhancing biomass enzymatic saccharification in three bioenergy crops, which led to achieving hexoses yields raised by 4-7 times compared to the controls. By employing engineered yeast strain for xylose co-fermentation, the highest bioethanol yield was achieved at 18 % (% dry matter) in Miscanthus sample.

Hypoxia serves as a fundamental component of the tumor microenvironment, exerting a crucial influence on tumor advancement. Nonetheless, a comprehensive examination of a prognostic signature linked to hypoxia in pancreatic cancer is notably absent, presenting an urgent necessity. Therefore, our objective was to create and authenticate a robust prognostic signature capable of predicting outcomes for pancreatic cancer.

Artemisinin (ARS), a widely used antimalarial drug, has demonstrated anti-tumor effects in several types of cancer, including UM. However, these effects are primarily observed at high concentrations, which restricts its broader use.

Methods: Large-scale, multi-site structural MRI data from a homogeneous Chinese cohort of 1,442 MDD patients and 1,277 healthy controls were used to calculate cortical morphological measures, which were compared between groups to determine cortical morphological alterations in MDD. A connectome constraint model was then used to examine whether structural connectome shapes MDD-related cortical morphological alterations, followed by performance of a network diffusion model to identify the epicenters.

Studies have shown that RT induces abnormal copper ion accumulation and iron reduction, thereby inhibiting ferroptosis and exacerbating therapeutic resistance. In this study, multiomics database analysis revealed that various RT-resistant cancer cell lines and patient-derived tumor models exhibit characteristics of disrupted copper homeostasis and enhanced copper ion-binding capacity.

The subgenual anterior cingulate cortex (sgACC) plays a central role in the pathophysiology of major depressive disorder (MDD). Its functional interactive profile with the left dorsal lateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) is associated with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment outcomes. Previous research on sgACC functional connectivity (FC) in MDD has yielded inconsistent results, partly due to small sample sizes and limited statistical power.
