Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is one of the most aggressive intracranial tumors for which there is no effective treatment. Chimeric antigen receptor macrophage (CAR-M) therapies have demonstrated impressive therapeutic efficacy in solid tumors; however, the cost and rigor associated with manufacturing engineered macrophages ex vivo can be prohibitive. Here, we utilized enucleated mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) as vehicles for the targeted delivery of CAR-encoding plasmid to reprogram glioma-associated microglia/macrophages (GAM), thereby achieving CAR-M preparation in vivo.

While nanozyme-mediated catalytic therapy holds promise for precision oncology, achieving spatiotemporal control over enzymatic activity and synergistic therapeutic amplification in the biologically favorable second near-infrared window (NIR-II) remains an unmet challenge. In this study, we present a breakthrough in plasmonic heterojunction engineering through the rational design of asymmetric dumbbell-shaped Au nanorod@end-mesoporous Pd architectures that establish a high density of plasmonic hotspots at the mesopore sites. Unlike conventional core-shell configurations (Au@mesoPd) showing negligible NIR-II response, our heterostructure demonstrates a nearly 200% enhancement in peroxidase-like activity under 1064 nm excitation through precisely engineered hot electron dynamics.

Herein, this work introduces a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded organic framework (HOF) enriched with multi-site H-bonding and lithiophilic sites for the first time to tailor the electronic structure and solvation chemistry in lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI) based electrolyte and stabilize the lithium metal anodes (LMAs) interface. Initially, the abundant lithiophilic sites (C═O, C═N) in the HOF coordinate with Li, acting as key electron donors to optimize the electronic structure while also reducing the desolvation energy barrier when Li dissociates from the solvent sheath.

Gene organization in operons and co-expression as polycistronic transcripts is characteristic of prokaryotes. With the evolution of the eukaryotic translation machinery, operon structure and expression of polycistrons were largely abandoned. Whether eukaryotes still possess the ability to express polycistrons, and how they functionally activate bacterial operons acquired by horizontal DNA transfer is unknown.

The selective Au deposition at the Au-substrate interface is known to give ultrathin Au nanowires and the synthesis usually employs strong thiol-based ligands. It is shown that, by increasing the rate of Au deposition, weak cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) can be made to behave like a strong ligand, so that it induces Active Surface Growth and gives Au nanowires. The ligand strength also depends on the packing interactions in the ligand layer, in the order of CTAB, CTAB, and CTAB.

Background: Primary squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the middle ear is rare, with non-keratinizing basaloid types being exceptionally uncommon. Distinguishing these cancers, often caused by viral factors (, human papillomavirus or Epstein-Barr virus), or specific genetic alterations (, bromodomain-containing protein 4-nuclear protein in or gene fused with FLI chromosomal rearrangement), from other cranial conditions, is difficult. The recently identified DEK::AFF2 non-keratinizing SCC (NKSCC) is a novel subtype, fitting the World Health Organization classification of head and neck neoplasms.
