Green hydrogen production by proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) powered by clean energy is a promising and environmentally friendly technology. However, it relies on a high-purity water source, which is limited in regions facing water scarcity. Here, a coupled self-sustaining solar-enabled system is reported that couples atmospheric water harvesting with PEM water electrolysis (AWH-PEMWE), offering a novel pathway for clean water generation and green hydrogen production.

This study introduces a photoinduced Suzuki-Miyaura C(sp)-C(sp) coupling protocol in which the introduction of a nitrene reagent efficiently redirects the conventional C(sp)-C(sp) linkage toward a C(sp)-N-C(sp)-bridged architecture. A total of 432 reactions were conducted using a high-throughput screening strategy to identify the optimal parameters. This strategy exhibits mild conditions, convenient operation, and good functional group tolerance, meanwhile establishing a solid foundation for further developing novel catalytic systems of cross-coupling reactions.

Hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH) is a common complication derived from chronic hypoxic lung diseases and is characterized by excessive proliferation of pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) and obvious pulmonary vascular remodeling (PVR). Despite recent advances, the clinical outcome is still unsatisfactory. Ferroptosis, a newly identified form of programmed cell death, has been reported to participate in cardiovascular disease progression; however, its role in HPH remains undefined.

To significantly enhance reaction efficiency of porous heterojunctions in various applications, precise engineering of customization heterostructures through energy-level modulation is indispensable. Herein, the preparation of a core-shell porous heterojunction, UiO-66@TDCOF, is reported. Taking advantage of adjustable structure of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), the energy-level of UiO-66 core is tailored to precisely align with that of porphyrin-based covalent organic framework (denoted as TDCOF) shell.

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) urgently requires innovative therapeutic strategies due to its severity and stagnant five-year survival rate. Targeting glutamine metabolism, a promising approach, is hampered by tumor cells' profound metabolic plasticity. Through a series of experiments, we uncovered heterogeneous responses of OSCC cell lines to glutamine deprivation: While most cells maintained growth, HSC3 cells showed a marked reduction in proliferation.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), a vascular condition that endangers life, is typified by the progressive weakening and dilation of the aortic wall. In its pathogenic process, oxidative stress and angiogenesis assume crucial functions. This research explored the function of G protein-coupled receptor 39 (GPR39) in angiotensin II (AngII)-induced AAA in ApoE-/- mice and its underlying mechanisms.

The objective of Continual Learning(CL) is to maintain both the learning plasticity and memory stability of a model, allowing it to continuously acquire new knowledge over time while ensuring robust retention of previously learned knowledge. However, existing CL methods primarily focus on memory stability, preventing catastrophic forgetting (CF) of knowledge from earlier tasks, while overlooking efficient learning of new tasks. In this paper,we propose a parameter-space decomposition method to Balanced Learning Plasticity and Memory Stability (BLPMS), dividing the model into sub-networks for each task by parameter isolation, further decomposing each sub-network into task-general and task-specific parameter spaces.

Climate change is compelling nations to invest heavily in retrofitting urban drainage systems (UDSs). However, limited information can lead to inefficient resource allocation, exacerbating the redundancy-efficiency dilemma. Traditional decision-making methods, such as multi-objective optimization, fail to capture the nonlinear evolution of adaptation, as they are constrained by static scenarios and lack the flexibility to accommodate multiple adaptation pathways.

Purpose: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common gastrointestinal disorder with rising prevalence globally. Emerging evidence suggests that dietary factors, including the intake of sweetened beverages, may influence the risk of GERD. Uncertainty surrounds the relationship between various sweetened beverage kinds and GERD incidents, though.

Background: This study evaluated the restoration of trochlear orientation following primary functional alignment (FA) total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using an image-based robotic-assisted system and investigated the relationship between trochlear orientation and clinical outcomes.

Methods: This retrospective study included 110 robotic-assisted TKAs performed between September 2021 and October 2023. The average age of this cohort was 67 ± 8.

Glutamine (Gln), a critical metabolic substrate, fuels the uncontrolled proliferation of cancer cells. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), essential components of the tumor microenvironment, facilitate tumor progression by supplying Gln to cancer cells and driving drug resistance through metabolic reprogramming. This review highlights the key processes of Gln uptake, transport, and catabolism and explores the metabolic crosstalk between CAFs and cancer cells.

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a common procedure for end-stage osteoarthritis (OA). Traditional polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) bone cement used in TKA has limitations, including lack of osteointegration and higher modulus than bone. We developed a novel bone cement, mineralized collagen (MC)-PMMA, to address these issues.

This study aimed to determine effects of postpartal relative body weight change (PRBWC) on production performance, serum biomarkers, and the relation between PRBWC and gastrointestinal microbiota. A total of 59 multiparous cows participated in this research. Every cow's PRBWC was calculated by the following equation: PRBWC = (BW - BW)/BW × 100%, in which BW refers to body weight on Day 21 post-calving and BW refers to body weight on the day of parturition.

Subacute ruminal acidosis (SARA) has emerged as a prevalent digestive disorder that significantly affects the overall health of ruminants, with notable links to various inflammatory diseases. Throughout the progression of SARA, elevated lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels in the rumen play a crucial role in initiating the innate immune response. In this review, we evaluate the recent insights into the pathways associated with SARA-induced inflammatory responses, with a specific focus on LPS.

Introduction: Extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA) plays an important role in the initiation and progression of cancerous tumors. Although Circle-seq and other genetic technologies can be utilized for ecDNA analysis, they fail to provide multi-dimensional information from ecDNA, which is time-consuming and laborious.

Objectives: Herein, by combining the netlike rolling circle amplification (NRCA) with CRISPR, we developed a novel CRISPR-Cas9 nickase-mediated RCA (CRIRCA) technology that can meet the clinical analysis needs of ecDNA.

An imbalance between oxidative and antioxidant processes in the host can lead to excessive oxidation, a condition known as oxidative stress (OS). Although changes in the hindgut microbiota have been frequently linked to OS, the specific microbial and metabolic underpinnings of this association remain unclear. In this study, we enrolled 81 postpartum Holstein cows and stratified them into high oxidative stress (HOS, n = 9) and low oxidative stress (LOS, n = 9) groups based on the oxidative stress index (OSi).

Disruption of low oxygen tension homeostasis during intervertebral disc degeneration inhibits endogenous stem cell viability and function, posing a challenge for endogenous regeneration. Here, to achieve sustained hypoxia manipulation, constructed hypoxia-inducible interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) hydrogel microspheres (HIMS) are constructed by microfluidics to integrate the hypoxic system with a stabilizing network. The IPN is synthesized through a two-step polymerization process, consisting of rapid photo-crosslinked gelatin methacrylate anhydride (GM) polymer I and slow enzyme-crosslinked vanillin-grafted gelatin (GV) polymer II.
