The sustainable and widespread developments of fuel cells require material innovation toward the sluggish oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Although iron and nitrogen co-doped carbon material (Fe-N-C) is a promising alternative to scarce and expensive platinum-based electrocatalysts, the linear scaling relationships among the intermediates' adsorption energy limit maximum performance. Herein, we propose a coordination-adaptive catalyst design to bypass the intrinsic scaling relations through incorporating quasi-covalent Fe─F bond.

BackgroundLymphovascular invasion (LVI) is a critical factor in breast cancer (BC) prognosis and treatment planning, yet preoperative non-invasive assessment remains challenging. This research proposes the design and validation of a comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) system that combines intratumoral and peritumoral radiomic analysis, deep learning (DL)-derived features, and clinical risk indicators extracted from dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI), with the goal of predicting LVI status in patients with BC.MethodsThis multi-institutional retrospective study included 496 IBC patients (training cohort: n = 344; validation cohort: n = 152).

The inherent scaling relationships between adsorption energies of oxygen-containing intermediates impose an intrinsic limitation on the maximum oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity, which represents one of the bottlenecks for the practical application of anion exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs). To address this challenge, we align the 3dz orbital energy levels of Fe and Co to selectively customize the dissociative ORR pathway without the formation of OOH* intermediates, circumventing the conventional OH*-OOH* scaling relations. This rational design is achieved by atomic phosphorus(P) substitution, which not only optimizes orbital matching towards O-O cis-bridge adsorption, but also stabilizes the spontaneously adsorbed OH ligand as an electronic modifier.

Urban wetlands play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, carbon sequestration, and water purification. Sediments are key carriers for wetlands to store elements such as carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus in the aquatic environment. This study analyzed different sediment layers of seven wetlands in Yangzhou, aiming to explore the relationship between physicochemical factors and microbial communities in wetland sediments, as well as to predict the functions of microbial communities.

miRNAs regulate cancer progression and serve as both biomarkers and therapeutic targets in chemotherapy and gene therapy. Current analytical platforms lack the capacity to concurrently satisfy single-cell resolution and target specificity while maintaining high-throughput performance and cost-effectiveness. This limitation underscores the critical demand for innovative precision detection technologies.

Transformer-based approaches have recently made significant advancements in 3D human pose estimation from 2D inputs. Existing methods typically either consider the entire 2D skeleton for global features extraction or break it into independent parts for local features learning. However, capturing the spatial dependencies of the entire 2D skeleton does not effectively facilitate learning local spatial features, while partitioning the skeleton into independent segments disrupts the relevance of individual joints to the whole.

Background: Thoracoscopic sublobar resection is emerging as a main treatment option for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study aimed to determine whether distinct early post-discharge pain trajectories could be identified in patients with stage IA NSCLC undergoing thoracoscopic sublobar resection.

Methods: The data were collected from a longitudinal prospective observational cohort (CN-PRO-Lung 3).

Background: The association between neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and chronic critical illness (CCI) is unclear. We aimed to explore the association between NLR and PNI with CCI and whether it could be used as a tool for risk stratification in such patients.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted using the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV (MIMIC-IV) database.

Global diabatic potential energy surfaces (PESs) of the PH associated with 1A″ and 2A″ states were constructed by using a neural network method combined with a symmetry-adapted function. In the construction of PESs, high-level points were calculated by the multireference configuration interaction method in conjunction with the aug-cc-pVQZ basis set for H and the aug-cc-pwCVQZ basis set for P. The topographical features of the diabatic PESs were discussed and compared with the results, confirming that the diabatic PESs were successfully constructed.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, second only to lung cancer. Dihydroartemisinin (DHA), a derivative of traditional Chinese medicine, has demonstrated anticancer properties; however, its role in modulating cuproptosis remains unclear. Lysyl oxidase-like 2 (LOXL2), a copper-dependent amine oxidase, has been implicated in cuproptosis regulation, though its mechanistic involvement requires further elucidation.

The imperative to minimize iridium usage in proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) process presents a pivotal challenge for hydrogen economy deployment, while inherent destabilization of iridium (Ir) active sites under corrosive operational conditions, originating from insufficient Ir bonding strength, remains a fundamental barrier. Here, we resolve this dilemma through heterointerface-engineered stabilization, where the strategically constructed Nb-TiO rutile/anatase heterophase homojunction stabilizes Ir sites with enhanced orbital overlap and intensified charge transfer. This atomic-scale anchoring mechanism, validated by operando characterization and theoretical calculations, strengthens Ir─O bonding and optimizes *OOH adsorption energetics, thereby enabling concurrent activity-stability improvements.

Alkaline anion-exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs) have garnered significant attention as promising energy conversion devices, yet their development remains hindered by the scarcity of efficient platinum-free electrocatalysts for the hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR). Here, we systematically investigated the HOR catalytic performance of transition metal single-atoms supported by MoC (TM-MoC, TM = Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, Ir, Pt) using first-principles density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Theoretical calculations indicate that the integration of TM atoms with MoC substrates modulates the electronic structure, and establishes dual active sites comprising TM and adjacent Mo atoms.
