Endurance exercise significantly enhances energy expenditure with lipids serving as a crucial energy source for skeletal muscle during exercise. The adipocytokine Zinc-α2-glycoprotein (ZAG) in endurance exercise remains largely uncertain. This study utilized ZAG knockout and overexpression mice to investigate ZAG's role in regulating lipid metabolism in skeletal muscle during endurance exercise.

This study investigated the performance of aerobic granular sludge (AGS) and algal-bacterial granular sludge (ABGS) systems in terms of stability, nutrient and PFOA removal, enzyme activity, and microbial communities under PFOA stress. Both systems demonstrated tolerance and adsorptive removal of PFOA with enhanced total nitrogen (TN) and slightly decreased total phosphorus (TP) removals.

Biocontrol using beneficial microbes like Trichoderma is an eco-friendly strategy for plant disease management but is limited by poor soil colonization and low secondary metabolite production. This study isolated Trichoderma longibrachiatum Tr-8, which shows strong cellulose degradation and resource competition. Integrated omics revealed Tr-8's preference for cellulose-based carbon, promoting polyketosynthase gene expression.

Finally, a series of in vitro and in vivo experiments were conducted to survey the transdermal mechanism, skin irritation, antioxidant, anti-photo ageing and antiwrinkle effects of EA-loaded liposomes modified with the optimal molecular weight of HA. The results showed that EA-HA-L had less than 200 nm particle size and high encapsulation efficiency.

The real-time detection and visualization of HS levels in practical samples hold significant importance for biological analysis. In this study, 3-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-5-bromo-2-(2,4-dinitrophenoxy)benzaldehyde (DTBH) was designed and synthesized based on the mechanism of excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT).

Spermidine has emerged as a promising biomarker for the early-stage diagnosis of cancer in humans. A novel extractive spectrophotometric analytical method has been developed for the determination of spermidine in urine samples. This technique leverages the selective extraction of spermidine from complex matrices using a cucurbit[7]uril-truxene derivative (Q[7]-Cs-Tr) as a fluorescent extractant.

The Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII) and the Systemic Inflammation Response Index (SIRI), as novel inflammatory biomarkers, may play an important role in predicting obesity risk. This study utilized data from the 2007-2020 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to analyze the relationship between sedentary behavior, SII, SIRI, and obesity through multivariable logistic regression models.

Background: Asthma is a chronic, heterogeneous disease driven by inflammatory phenotypes, primarily eosinophilic asthma (EA) and neutrophilic asthma (NEA). While allergen triggers are well-known, the role of the airway microbiome and metabolites in asthma exacerbations remains poorly understood.
Methods: We recruited 64 participants (24 EA, 20 NEA, 20 healthy controls [HC]) for the discovery cohort, with validation in an external cohort (10 EA, 8 NEA, 8 HC).

Background: Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) has been increasingly viewed as a neurodegenerative condition, yet whether there are changes in the brain glymphatic function in patients with POAG has remained unclear. This study aimed to investigate the changes of glymphatic function in POAG based on multi-modal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Methods: Thirty-eight patients with POAG and 25 age- and sex-matched healthy controls underwent structural MRI and functional MRI scans to assess abnormalities in cerebrospinal fluid circulation by choroid plexus (CP) volume and cortical glymphatic system clearance function by blood-oxygen-level-dependent signals and cerebrospinal fluid signals (BOLD-CSF) coupling.

Follicle is a primary structural and functional unit within the mammalian ovary, encompassing a centrally positioned oocyte surrounded by pregranulosa cells. Primordial follicles constitute the ovarian reserve, the activated primary follicle represents the inception of follicular development in mammals. The intricate balance between primordial follicle dormancy and activation is pivotal for sustaining ovarian reproductive function; over-activation of the primordial follicle pool can result in premature ovarian failure among women.

This study examined the impacts of microplastics and antibiotics on sediment properties and microbial communities through a 60-day laboratory simulation. Results showed that microplastics significantly reduced carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus levels in sediments, while both antibiotics and combined pollution decreased phosphorus content.

It is precisely because of this characteristic that SDN controllers are susceptible to external malicious attacks, the most common of which are Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. This paper suggests a way to find DDoS attacks called ConvLTSM-MHA-TWD.

In East Asia, Hantaan orthohantavirus (HTNV) is the main pathogen responsible for severe HFRS, with a case fatality rate up to 10 % with no specific treatment available. The antisera or neutralizing antibody (NAb) is able to block virus infection, however, the traditional NAb titer measuring based on focus reduction neutralization test (FRNT) is quite labour-extensive and takes 7-10 days.
