Chronic hypoperfusion-induced neuronal damage is the pathological basis of vascular dementia (VD). Hypoxia enhances the paracrine effects of neural stem cells (NSCs) by promoting neuroprotection and synaptic plasticity, which may be mediated by extracellular vehicles (EVs) secretion. In this study, we aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects and underlying mechanisms of hypoxic NSC-derived EVs (hypoxic NSC-EVs) in VD.

Introduction: Family resilience plays a crucial role in helping patients with chronic diseases manage their conditions and maintain overall well-being. The Family Resilience Inventory (FRI) assesses resilience across generations with a focus on protective and promotive factors. However, the FRI has not been translated into Chinese or validated for use among families managing chronic diseases.

Despite significant progress in this promising field, the low NH yield rate and limited Faradaic efficiency (FE) remain formidable challenges. Here, we introduce antiperovskite CuNiNMn, where partial substitution of Cu by Ni in CuNMn is developed as an effective and robust e-NRR electrocatalyst.

In this work, we developed an interesting heterostructure consisting of carbon nanotube-encapsulated α-FeO nanocolumns (CNTs@α-FeO). The curvature effects of CNTs induce a built-in electric field between CNTs and α-FeO nanocolumns, facilitating effective interface polarization.

Although there have been expert consensus and relevant guidelines to introduce the recommendations of the guidelines for patients with hematological malignancies complicated with COVID-19 infection, there is limited understanding of the clinical characteristics of Chinese patients with acute leukemia complicated with COVID-19 infection.
Aims: This study aimed to analyze the clinical manifestations, mortality, and determinants of viral shedding duration in Chinese AL patients infected with COVID-19.
Background: Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is a disease associated with high rates of death and disability. The most effective treatment for AIS is intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) and mechanical thrombectomy (MT). In the acute phase of AIS, the accuracy of diagnosis is crucial for deciding on IVT and MT, but can be complicated by the presence of a large number of stroke mimics (SMs) and stroke chameleons (SCs).

The high water solubility and flammability of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) limits its further widespread use in areas such as bioplastic and green packaging. In this study, double-crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol/starch bioplastics (named PDA) were fabricated using PVA, dialdehyde starch (DAS), and phytic acid (PA), resulting in a material with superior water resistance, flame retardancy, and excellent degradability. PA not only plays the role of catalyst for the chemical crosslinking but also as the physical crosslinker to form the intermolecular hydrogen bonds with PVA and DAS.

These factors represent important healthcare challenges for new nurses (graduation to 2 years of work experience). However, studies on the relationships among these variables in the context of new nurses in China remain lacking.

Methods: HUVECs were exposed to hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to establish a model for vascular endothelial cell injury. HSC-MVs or TGF-β1HSC-MVs were co-cultured with H2O2-treated HUVECs, respectively.
Variegation and complexity of polarization relaxation loss in many heterostructured materials provide available mechanisms to seek a strong electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption performance. Here we construct a unique heterostructured compound that bonds α-FeO nanosheets of the (110) plane on carbon microtubes (CMTs). Through effective alignment between the Fermi energy level of CMTs and the conduction band position of α-FeO nanosheets at the interface, we attain substantial polarization relaxation loss via novel atomic valence reversal between Fe(III) ↔ Fe(III) induced with periodic electron injection from conductive CMTs under EMW irradiation to give α-FeO nanosheets.

Graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN, CN) has garnered considerable attention in the field of photocatalysis due to its favorable band gap and high specific surface area. However, its primary practical limitation lies in the strong radiative recombination of lone pair (LP) electronic states, leading to limited efficiency in separating photogenerated carriers and subsequently diminishing photocatalytic performance. In this study, we devised and synthesized a heterojunction photocatalytic system comprising TiO nanosheets supported on modified g-CN (MCN), designated as MCN/TiO.

Using "Dynamic Display Unrelated Regression (DSUR)" and "Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS)" regressions, the outcomes reflect that percentage of total urbanization and percentage of small cities have an incremental influence on carbon dioxide emissions. However, square percentage of small cities and square percentage of total urbanization have significant adverse effects on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

The semi-rigidity of the polylactic acid (PLA) molecular chain makes it brittle, poor impact resistance and barrier properties, which severely limits its practical applications. In this paper, a bio-based reactive plasticizer epoxy soybean oil (ESO) was used to improve the mechanical and barrier properties of maleic anhydride grafted polylactic acid (MAPLA) by the chemical reaction between the epoxy and anhydride group. Firstly, the optimum curing conditions were 93.

This situation can be improved by fast charge transfer by optimizing the interfacial electronic structure and enhancing polarization. Herein, a unique metal (Ni) organic (diphenylalanine, DPA) framework Ni(DPA) (Ni-MOF) with tunable polarization is designed to bond with FeNi-LDH (layered double hydroxides) nanoflakes.

Investigations of pulsatile tinnitus (PT) caused by sigmoid sinus wall anomalies (SSWAs) using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) have recently increased in prevalence. However, accurate modeling of anatomical structures regarding sigmoid plate dehiscence and acoustic sources of PT remains lacking. This study incorporates coupled CFD techniques, micro-computed tomography, and scanning electron microscope to reveal the vibroacoustic and hydroacoustic sources and displacement characteristics of the transverse-sigmoid sinus system.

Truncated octahedron CuO (TOC) has attracted more attention for its suitable band gap and high carrier separation efficiency due to introduction of the facet heterojunction, but its practical drawback is still the instability caused by the irreversible disproportionation reaction (CuO → Cu + CuO). Here, we design and fabricate the TOC/Cu-MOF (MOF: metal-organic framework) double-heterojunction structures with different Cu-MOF loadings. The introduced heterojunction between TOC and Cu-MOF not only produces a stable interface Cu bonding structure with the electronic states localized within the average collisional diameter of electrons 1.

Regulatory T (Treg) cells are thought to contribute to tumor pathogenesis by suppressing tumor immunosurveillance and antitumor immunity. T follicular regulatory (Tfr) cells are a recently characterized Treg subset that expresses both the Treg transcription factor (TF) Foxp3 and the T follicular helper (Tfh) TF Bcl-6. The role of Tfr cells in glioma patients remains unclear.
