Large lossless currents in high-temperature superconductors (HTS) critically rely on dense defects with suitable size and dimensionality to pin vortices, with dislocations being particularly effective due to their 1D geometry to interact extensively with vortex lines. However, in non-metallic compounds such as HTS with rigid lattices, conventional deformation methods typically lead to catastrophic fracture rather than dislocation-mediated plasticity, making it a persistent challenge to introduce dislocations at high density. Here, an asymmetric stress field strategy is proposed using extrusion to directly nucleate a high density of dislocations in HTS by activating shear-driven lattice slip and twisting under superimposed hydrostatic compression.

Herein, halide perovskites with varying halide anions, CsSnX (X = Cl, Br, I), are purposefully designed to unveil the halogen-induced regulatory mechanism. Theoretical calculations demonstrate that increasing the halogen atomic number induces the shift of the p-band center closer to the Fermi level, which results in the localized charge distribution around halide anions and rapid charge separation/transfer at Sn sites, enhancing the adsorptive and catalytic activity and redox kinetics of LiPSs.

We searched of Medline, Embase, International Clinical Trials Registry Platform, and the Cochrane Library up to May 31, 2023. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of low-dose naloxone combined with opioids in adults reporting pain intensity or opioid-related adverse event during the perioperative period.

Despite the fact that zinc finger-homeodomain (ZF-HD) genes play an important role in responding to plant growth, development and stress resistance across the multiple species, the evolutionary history and abiotic function of the ZF-HD gene family in sunflower remain largely unexplored.

The PERK/eIF-2α/ATF4/CHOP pathway is one of the classical pathways involved in the unfolded protein response to endoplasmic reticulum stress by regulating protein synthesis and promoting apoptosis. This study aimed to investigate the functional role and mechanism of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs) in the POI animal model through the PERK/eIF-2α/ATF4/CHOP pathway.

Methods: This was a case-control study involving 57 pregnant women who delivered in the obstetric department of Affiliated Loudi Hospital, Hengyang Medical School, University of South China, from June 2021 to June 2022. Samples of fetal membrane tissue were collected from pregnant women with PPROM (n=27) and pregnant women who had normal deliveries (control group; n=30).

The efficacy of human amniotic mesenchymal stem cell (hAMSC) ovarian injection in improving ovarian function in primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) patients has been shown in some reports. However, the safety and efficacy of hAMSC vein injection remains unclear. In this study, we evaluated the safety and efficacy of hAMSC intravenous injection in cynomolgus macaques and SD rats and provided evidence for clinical trials.

In the current study, RNA-Seq analysis was used to explore the gene expression profiles of Mediterranean (MED) that fed on both ToCV-infected and -uninfected tomato plants for 6, 12, 24, and 48 hours, respectively. The results revealed that dynamic changes occurred in the gene expressions of whiteflies at different time intervals after they acquired the virus.

We analyzed the semen parameters of 61 cycles in infertile couples undergoing IVF-ET and ICSI and determined DFI by sperm chromatin dispersion testing. Based on DFI, the patients were differentiated into a control group (DFI < 25%, = 35) and a test group (DFI ≥ 25%, = 26).

Tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV) is a member of the genus Crinivirus in the family Closteroviridae. It has a wide host range and wide distribution, causing serious harm to the vegetable industry. The autophagy pathway plays an important role in plant resistance to virus infection.

At present, researches on plant viruses mainly focus on plants, but there is only a few reports on the species of viruses in surface water from PVGAs. The surface water samples in PVGAs are representative to a certain extent, which has an important reference value for studying the characteristics of plant viruses in surface water.

Perinatal depression is a mood disorder that is reported in women during pregnancy (prenatal) and after childbirth (postnatal). The onset of perinatal depression is associated with changes in reproductive hormones, stress hormones and neurosteroids. These chemical compounds can be modulated by the gut microbiota, which may affect maternal mental health during the perinatal period the gut-brain-axis.

Methods: Seventy-two C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into the following three groups (n = 24 per group): control group; aging group, in which mice were irradiated with X-ray uniformly to establish the aging model of HSCs; and ASP group, in which mice were given 200 mg/kg ASP during irradiation. HSCs were collected by immunomagnetic beads, transmission electron microscopy was used to examine the morphological changes in HSCs, SA-β-Gal staining was used to detect the aging cells, immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the reactive oxygen species (ROS), and western blotting was used to evaluate the expression levels of sirtuin 1 (Sirt1) and forkhead box O1 (FoxO1).
The cucurbit chlorotic yellows virus (CCYV) causes severe economic losses in cucurbit plants. Although it has been widely known in various countries for several years, CCYV is rarely recognized due to the lack of rapid and effective detection methods in the early stage of the disease. Recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) is a new, efficient, and simple technology for nucleic acid detection.

Copper sheath is the first choice for manufacturing high-T(c) superconducting wires and tapes because of its high electrical and thermal conductivities, low-cost and good mechanical properties. However, Cu can easily react with superconducting cores, such as BSCCO, MgB2 and pnictides, and therefore drastically decrease the transport J(c). Here, we report the fabrication of Cu-sheathed Sr(1-x)K(x)Fe2As2 tapes with superior J(c) performance using a simple hot pressing method that is capable of eliminating the lengthy high-temperature sintering.
