Here we have investigated several magnetic materials in a metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensor, showing that iron oxides can exhibit both positive and negative magnetoresponses at relatively low operating temperatures (120-160 °C), with no simple correlation between magnetoresponse and bulk magnetization, leading to the discovery of LaFeO as an outstanding material for magnetoresistive gas sensing. Efficient monitoring of hydrogen sulfide (HS) in wastewater is essential for preventing environmental contamination and safeguarding public health. Current methods for assessing sulfide levels are limited by complex, time-consuming processes. Here, we introduce a Pt/CrWN-based electrochemical gas sensor designed for real-time detection of HS gas, offering a fast, reliable, and cost-effective solution for monitoring sulfate concentrations in wastewater.

The effects of these three decoration treatments on masking or suppressing the release of VOCs and odorants from particleboard were explored. The substances that were covered or suppressed and newly introduced before and after processing were identified to provide a basis for reducing the odor emissions of PVC-, PP- and RIP-decorated particleboard.

Photoelectrochemical biosensor based on BiS/BiOCO heterojunction as photoelectrically active material and lactate oxidase was constructed for sensitive detection of lactic acid in serum. Topological transformation method was utilized to prepare BiS/BiOCO composites, which can generate electron-hole pairs triggering photoelectrochemical reactions under light illumination. The BiS/BiOCO heterojunction effectively promoted the separation and transportation of photogenerated electrons and holes, leading to improved photoelectric conversion efficiency.

Purpose: The safety of continuing antiplatelets or direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) before surgery in older patients with hip fractures remains uncertain. The feasibility of timely surgery after discontinuation also warrants further investigation.
Glutathione (GSH), one of the most abundant antioxidants in eukaryotic cells, maintains redox homeostasis and acts as a signaling molecule at physiological levels. However, most existing GSH-activated probes are highly sensitive with a limit of detection as low as micromoles, making them unable to discriminate different mammalian cell lines based on GSH levels, as GSH concentrations in most cells are approximately 1-2 mM. In this study, we found a novel GSH trigger, 2-furan formate, with moderate reactivity, and developed a precision-tuned fluoro-photoacoustic (PA) probe () by combining with a near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF)/PA dual scaffold (HDS) for accurately monitoring of GSH dynamics.

While electrochemical extraction offers a greener alternative to solvent-based methods like the PUREX (plutonium uranium reduction extraction) process, it has been limited to batch processing of non-saline waters. Here, a high-performance ZrN/copper foam (ZrN/CF) electrode is presented that enables a continuous electroextraction-purification-reuse (EE-PR) process, achieving >98% pure UO directly from saline wastewater for direct reuse as nuclear fuel.

Background: Mitochondrial dysfunction is linked to hyperuricemia (HUA), but its genetic pathophysiology is not yet fully understood. We employed Mendelian randomization (MR) to integrate multi-omics data and explore the associations between mitochondrial-related genes and HUA.
Methods: We conducted a summary data-based MR analysis to investigate potential targets associated with HUA by integrating mitochondrial-related DNA methylation, gene expression, and protein quantitative trait loci.

However, the development of enzyme-based catalytic medicines faces significant challenges, including a complex fabrication processes, poor stability, and limited efficacy in oral administration. Herein, we present an approach to fabricate calcium pyrophosphate (CaP)-enzyme nanocatalysts via acoustofluidic synthesis, enabling rapid and scalable encapsulation of natural enzymes (e.

In this work, the mode-specific quantum dynamics of the prototypical S2 reaction F + CHI → I + CHF are investigated using reduced six-dimensional quantum wave packet and full-dimensional quasi-classical trajectory methods. The reaction probabilities are calculated for both the ground and excited vibrational states of the reactant CHI at collision energies up to 2.
