Zika virus (ZIKV) has emerged as a global health priority due to its association with severe congenital abnormalities, including microcephaly and neonatal mortality in infants born to infected mothers. In adults, ZIKV infection is epidemiologically linked to Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). These clinical manifestations prompted the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare ZIKV a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).

Forsythoside A (FTA) is a key component found in the fruit and leaves of Forsythia suspensa, having anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. However, it is unclear whether FTA can have a protective effect against acute alcoholic liver injury (ALI) and how it may exert this effect. This research examined the potential protective effects of FTA against acute ALI using cell and animal models.

Numerical simulation is a technique that utilizes electronic computers to combine concepts of the discrete element method (DEM), finite element method (FEM), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), etc., and express simulated behaviors utilizing numerical computations and images. Compaction is the main process of tablet manufacturing; most of the current studies have focused on macroscopic compaction and tablet characterization, while the internal stress state and microstructure changes as a result of the compaction process are not well understood.

Temozolomide (TMZ) is the first-line therapy for glioblastoma (GBM), but its clinical efficacy is limited by its short half-life, poor brain targeting, adverse side effects, and the development of drug resistance. Ligustilide (LIG) has been shown to enhance blood-brain barrier permeability and reduce P-glycoprotein activity, thereby potentiating the synergistic effect of TMZ against GBM. The dual-drug-loaded nanoparticles encapsulating both TMZ and LIG (TMZ/LIG-NPs) were prepared using Poly (d,l-lactic-co-glycolide)-monomethoxy poly (ethylene glycol) (PLGA-mPEG).

Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy is a widely favored anti-tumor treatment, but it shows limited response to non-immunogenic "cold" tumors and suffers from drug resistance. Photodynamic therapy (PDT), as a powerful localized treatment approach, can convert a "cold tumor" into a "hot tumor" by inducing immunogenic cell death (ICD) in tumor cells, thereby enhancing tumor immunogenicity and promoting tumor immunotherapy. However, the effectiveness of PDT is largely hindered by the limited penetration depth into tumor tissues.

Polyvinylpyrrolidone K30 was used as the templating agent, and ammonium bicarbonate was used as the pore-forming agent to make porous mannitol and porous lactose by the template and pore-forming agent method, respectively. Compared with the template method, the porous particles prepared by the pore-forming agent method have larger pore diameter (320.276 nm and 250.

This study investigates the improvements in direct compaction powder properties achieved through particle design using laboratory and pilot-scale spray dryers. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and polyvinylpyrrolidone were used as modifying agent, which have low hygroscopicity and surface tension, good flowability, and excellent compactibility. Ammonium bicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate were used as pore-forming agents, and the composite particles were prepared using laboratory and pilot-scale spray dryers.

C1R has been identified to have a distinct function in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma that goes beyond its role in the complement system. However, it is currently unknown whether C1R is involved in the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). HCC tissues were used to examine C1R expression in relation to clinical and pathological factors.

Electroporation temporarily enhances cell membrane permeability and promotes the absorption of external molecules. We have developed a device termed the rolling microneedle electrode array (RoMEA) that combines a densely arranged microneedle array of electrodes with rolling structures. Use RoMEA to create uniform skin micropores for efficient, low-damage transfection of nucleic acids over extended areas of the body.

Porous materials are widely used as an effective strategy for the solubilization of insoluble drugs. In order to improve the solubility and bioavailability of low water-solubility drugs, it is necessary to prepare porous materials. Mannitol is one of the most popular excipients in food and drug formulations.

Nasal drug delivery efficiency is highly dependent on the position in which the drug is deposited in the nasal cavity. However, no reliable method is currently available to assess its impact on delivery performance. In this study, a biomimetic nasal model based on three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction and three-dimensional printing (3DP) technology was developed for visualizing the deposition of drug powders in the nasal cavity.

The purpose of this study is to develop modified particles with different structures to improve the flowability and compactibility of Liuwei Dihuang (LWDH) powder using co-spray drying technology, and to investigate the preparation mechanism of modified particles and their modified direct compaction (DC) properties. Moreover, tablets with high drug loading contents were also prepared. Particles were designed using polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP K30) and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC E3) as shell materials, and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO) and ammonium bicarbonate (NHHCO) as pore-forming agents.

Drug delivery systems (DDSs) play an important role in delivering active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to targeted sites with a predesigned release pattern. The chemical and biological properties of APIs and excipients have been extensively studied for their contribution to DDS quality and effectiveness; however, the structural characteristics of DDSs have not been adequately explored. Structure pharmaceutics involves the study of the structure of DDSs, especially the three-dimensional (3D) structures, and its interaction with the physiological and pathological structure of organisms, possibly influencing their release kinetics and targeting abilities.

Currently, the effectiveness of oncotherapy is limited by tumor heterogeneities, which presents a huge challenge for the development of nanotargeted drug delivery systems (DDSs). Therefore, it is important to resolve the spatiotemporal interactions between tumors and nanoparticles. However, targeting evaluation has been limited by particle visualization due to the gap between whole-organ scale and subcellular precision.
