Batch experiments revealed that five well-characterized RAs (sodium borohydride (SBH), sodium thiosulfate (STS), ascorbic acid (AA), hydroxylamine (HA) and oxalic acid (OA)) could impact performance of FeMn/biochar-HO system through multiple mechanisms, including variation of solution pH, competition for HO, electrostatic attraction and acceleration of metal redox cycle. Significantly, only OA and HA obviously enhanced the catalytic capacity of Fenton-like process and HA increased ciprofloxacin degradation efficiency from 38.

As the population is aging rapidly, the irrationality of residential care facility (RCF) configuration has impacted the efficiency and quality of the aged care services so significantly that the optimization of RCF configuration is urgently required. A multi-objective spatial optimization model for the RCF configuration is developed by considering the demands of three stakeholders, including the government, the elderly, and the investor. A modified immune algorithm (MIA) is implemented to find the optimal solutions, and the geographic information system (GIS) is used to extract information on spatial relationships and visually display optimization results.

The C ion photofragment spectra and photodissociation branching ratios into the two energetically available channels, C(D) + O(P) and C(P) + O(P), have been obtained for the three CO isotopologues, CO, CO, and CO, in the vacuum ultraviolet range 100500-102320 cm. The two vibronic states of Σ symmetry, F(3dσ) Σ(υ' = 1) and J(4sσ) Σ(υ' = 0), predominantly dissociate into the lowest channel C(P) + O(P) through interactions with the repulsive D'Σ state. All three vibronic states of Π symmetry, E'Π(υ' = 1, 2) and G(3dπ) Π(υ' = 0), dissociate into both of the channels above.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFTwo pyridine thiazole derivatives, namely, 4-(pyridin-2-yl)-2-(2-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)hydrazinyl)thiazole (L1) and 4-(pyridin-3-yl)-2-(2-(pyridin-4-ylmethylene)hydrazinyl)thiazole (L2), were afforded by a cyclization reaction between -haloketone and thioamide, and their Zn(II) complexes were prepared by the reaction of ligands and corresponding metal salts, respectively, and characterized by X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis. Both crystals were obtained by ether diffusion and crystallized in a monoclinic system. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of the Zn(II) complexes and ligands was screened using the microplate reader method, and in vitro antitumor activities of the complexes were evaluated by MTT, with a view to developing new improved bioactive materials with novel properties.

The results of UV-vis DRS, XPS valence band and DFT theoretical calculations indicated S doping increases the visible-light absorption capacity and changed the ba nd gap structure of g-CN (CN), resulting in the transfer of electrons from the CN to the SCN and holes from the SCN to the CN under visible light. In addition, the tubular structure of the SCN-CN facilitated the transfer of electrons in the longitudinal direction, which reduced charge carrier recombination.

Methods: NSCLC cells were purchased, and miR-135a-mimics, miR-135a-inhibitor, miR-NC, si-ROCK1 and Sh-ROCK1 were transfected into NSCLC cells HCC827 and NCI-H524. qRT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the expression of miR-135a, ROCK1, Bax, Caspase3, Bcl-2, N-cadherin, vimentin and E-cadherin.
