Decisions pertaining to the management of an abdominal aortic aneurysm in combination with bilateral internal iliac aneurysms present quandaries during endovascular intervention. This report outlines an endovascular aortic repair method for endovascular aortic repair involving an abdominal aortic aneurysm with bilateral iliac aneurysms. The patient exhibited aneurysmal dilatation of the abdominal aorta, bilateral common iliac arteries, and bilateral internal iliac arteries.

Using DJ-1 gene knock-out mice, we identified DJ-1 as a positive regulator in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). DJ-1 deficiency significantly alleviated skin lesion, splenomegaly, lymphadenopathy, while reducing multiple autoantibodies and immunoglobulin levels.

Schizophrenia is characterized by psychotic symptoms, negative symptoms, and cognitive deficits, profoundly affecting individuals and their families. The etiology is multifactorial, involving genetic, endocrine, and immunological risk factors. It is thought that schizophrenia is exclusively linked to alterations in brain structure and function, while the relationship between the brain and many organs may lack sufficient attention.

Nanozyme-mediated catalytic therapy is a promising and potent approach for tumor treatment; however, its therapeutic efficiency is limited by insufficient HO and excess glutathione (GSH) within the complex tumor microenvironment. Herein, we propose a self-cascading nanozyme strategy that self-supplies HO, consumes GSH, and induces cuproptosis to address these challenges. This design features a triphenylphosphine-functionalized copper-doped mesoporous silica nanoplatform (denoted as DCM) that exhibits multi-enzymatic activity, degradability, and mitochondrial targeting capacity.

Objectives: Cardiac dysfunction is commonly observed in COVID-19 patients, but its impact on different myocardial layers-endocardial, mid-myocardial, and epicardial remains insufficiently understood. This study aims to evaluate myocardial dysfunction in COVID-19 patients by assessing both the long-axis and short-axis function of the left ventricle (LV) using two-dimensional myocardial layer-specific strain imaging.
Methods: A total of 197 COVID-19 patients were enrolled and categorized into three subgroups: mild, moderate, and severe.
Background: Retinitis pigmentosa is a group of inherited retinal degenerations resulting in photoreceptor cell dysfunction, death, and eventually vision loss. It can be a manifestation of Usher syndrome and has been linked with autoimmune retinopathy and systemic autoimmune diseases.
Case Presentation: We report the case of a 70-year-old woman with retinitis pigmentosa and Usher syndrome who presented with autoimmune encephalitis.
Background: Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at a high risk of cardiovascular disease. This study aims to observe the short-term changes of left ventricular (LV) myocardial work in stage 5 CKD patients with successful kidney transplantation (KT).
Methods: 45 stage 5 CKD patients who are candidates for KT were enrolled.
The efficient synthesis of chiral amines has garnered ongoing interest due to their prevalence in pharmaceuticals and biologically active compounds. However, most existing strategies for their synthesis primarily rely on asymmetric (transfer) hydrogenation (AH/ATH) using noble metal catalysts. Additionally, the AH/ATH of heteroatom-containing imines and diarylimines has posed a longstanding challenge.

Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) is a globally prevalent pathogen that can infect a variety of animal species as well as humans. However, existing antiviral therapies are constrained in their capacity to effectively target viral latency and prevent recurrent infections. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs), particularly cathelicidins, as part of innate immune system have demonstrated broad-spectrum efficacy against viral pathogens.

HS most commonly affects high-density hair follicles and apocrine gland-rich regions of the body, including the axillae, inguinal folds, breasts, and perianal areas. Although genetic predisposition and environmental factors are known to contribute to the development and the severity of HS, the molecular mechanisms of HS are largely unknown.

In Tribolium castaneum, juvenile hormone (JH) signal, through Methoprene-tolerant (Met)/Taiman (Tai) heterodimer, regulates vitellogenesis. Considering that Coleoptera is by far the largest animal taxon, whether JH pathway controls vitellogenesis remains to be clarified in other Coleopteran species. In the current paper, temporal expression determination revealed that JH signal is triggered in the young female adults in two Henosepilachna species, consistent with active oogenesis and vitellogenesis in these beetles.

In this context, depletion of proline-rich nuclear receptor coactivator (Pnrc), the Drosophila melanogaster aaquetzalli homologue, damages cuticle integrity. In the current paper, RNA interference (RNAi) targeting Hvpnrc by an injection of 200, 500 or 1000 ng of dspnrc into the third instar larvae significantly reduced the level of corresponding transcript and repressed pupation and adult eclosion, in a dose-dependent manner.

The pathogenesis and etiology of these diseases remain unclear. A growing body of research indicates that metabolic reprogramming of immune cells is crucial for immunological control.

However, low-loss, precise, and rapid THz phase modulation remains fundamentally constrained by material limitations and inherent device-level trade-offs. A programmable THz metasurface (GaNMS) is presented, employing a gallium nitride Schottky barrier diode with a high-mobility 2D electron gas, specifically designed to overcome these limitations by leveraging its low insertion loss, fast response, and continuously tunable junction capacitance.

Based on these two indicators, this study aimed to develop a prognostic index for CRLM undergoing surgery after NAT.
Materials And Methods: 237 patients who underwent curative-intent resection following NAT from 2012 to 2022 were selected.

Background: The symbiotic interaction between arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and roots can change root traits, soil carbon - nitrogen processes and crop yield. However, the precise mechanisms by which AMF affect soil carbon economic strategies and crop yield remain unclear. A two - factor pot experiment was done with cotton.

Improving nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs) condition first requires a supportive surrounding environment. However, how to provide an excellent microenvironment before regulating the function of the NPCs is not yet a complete strategy.

This study aimed to assess VAC using the ratio of arterial stiffness (arterial velocity pulse index [AVI]) to myocardial deformation (global longitudinal strain [GLS]) in hypertension, and to determine whether it is more closely associated with vascular and cardiac damage than the conventional arterial elastance/left ventricular elastance (Ea/Ees) index.
Methods: AVI, GLS, arterial elastance (Ea), left ventricular end-systolic elastance (Ees), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and markers of left ventricular diastolic function (E/A and E') were measured by echocardiography in 141 healthy controls and 141 hypertensive subjects.

Cadmium (Cd) is a highly toxic heavy metal that poses a threat to environmental and human health. The hydrophilic and modifiable properties of hyaluronic acid (HA) render it well-suited for advanced environmental absorbent technologies. However, the potential of HA-based hydrogels in environmental applications remains largely unexplored.
