ObjectiveTo investigate the role and mechanism of long noncoding RNA LINKA (LncRNA LINKA) in hyperoxia-induced acute lung injury (HALI), specifically focusing on its impact on the GPNMB (glycoprotein nonmetastatic B protein)/HIF-1α (hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha) signaling pathway of apoptosis.MethodsAn experimental animal study was conducted using specific pathogen-free (SPF) male C57BL/6 mice and GPNMB knockout (KO) mice. Lung injury was assessed by measuring total protein in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), lung wet/dry weight (W/D) ratio, serum levels of inflammatory (tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β)) and oxidative stress (malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD)) mediators, histopathological scoring (hematoxylin and eosin staining), apoptosis rate (terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL) assay), and expression levels of GPNMB/HIF-1α pathway proteins (p-GPNMB, phosphorylated leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (p-LRRK2), p-HIF-1α) and apoptosis regulators (BCL2-associated X protein (Bax), B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2)) via western blotting.

Background: Colon cancer (CC) is one of the three most common cancers worldwide. In the treatment of CC, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) is one of the main components of chemotherapeutic combinations, but severe chemical resistance still occurs. In addition, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) oxidoreductase-1α (ERO1α) has been shown to be highly expressed in CC, but its specific molecular mechanisms remain unclear.

However, due to the inherent non-linearity between DIC image intensity and the phase gradient of a specimen, it is difficult to obtain the quantitative phase image accurately. Moreover, although numerical integration has been tried as a means to reconstruct the specimen phase, the unknown integral constant and the sensitivity to gradient noise lead to insufficient phase image results (obscured by severe linear artifacts).

This paper introduces a multiband metamaterial selective thermal emitter featuring an Ag/TiO/Ag nanosandwich structure capable of achieving both infrared and laser-compatible stealth. Through the use of inherent absorption in lossy dielectrics, magnetic resonance properties of MIM structures, and coupling of propagating surface plasmons with Fabry-Pérot cavity resonances, the multiband infrared stealth compatibility is effectively controlled.

However, precise emissivity measurements at low temperatures are challenging due to weak spontaneous radiation and interference from background radiation. This study presents a low-temperature spectral emissivity measurement scheme that combines the radiation modulation technology and the background factor optimization algorithm.

This study adapts BERT for vital sign time-series analysis in sepsis detection. Using MIMIC-III data, our model's embeddings reveal patient clusters that partition septic from non-septic cases while capturing physiological complexity through diagnosis count distributions. The BERT-based classifier achieves robust performance in both Precision-Recall Area Under Curve (PR AUC), measuring precision maintenance across recall thresholds, and Receiver Operating Characteristic Area Under Curve (ROC AUC), quantifying septic/non-septic case discrimination.

The future of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) in bedside care relies on integrating human psychological principles to foster advanced cognitive abilities such as reasoning, problem-solving, and spatial awareness. Key features like recursive learning memory and human-like context awareness allow AI systems to continuously learn and recall patient information in a relational manner. To achieve this, we propose an AI framework based on Relational Frame Theory (RFT), which organizes patient data to reflect human relational patterns.

Root-knot nematodes (RKNs) are widespread parasites that damage crops by weakening the plant immune system, causing root galls and stunting growth. However, the molecular mechanisms behind how RKNs regulate host plant defenses remain largely unknown. The medicinal plant frequently suffers losses from RKNs.

Previous research has predominantly focused on the hydrochemical characteristics of high-fluoride groundwater in the North China Plain (NCP), with limited attention given to the evolution of fluoride-enriched geothermal groundwater. This study, utilizing a dataset of major ion concentrations, δD, and δO from 45 samples, aims to investigate the hydrochemistry, evolution, and genetic mechanisms of fluoride-enriched geothermal groundwater in southern NCP.

As the complexity of spacecraft operations in extreme space environments escalates, the development of a device that can simultaneously manage thermal radiation while maintaining transmission to visible light becomes critically important. Such devices not only effectively shield spacecraft against drastic temperature fluctuations but also preserve the necessary lighting conditions for visibility in both the internal and external environments of the spacecraft. To meet this need, we have engineered a lithography-free transparent smart radiation device (TSRD) based on a dielectric/metal/dielectric (D/M/D) structure and phase change material vanadium dioxide (VO).
