Post-synthetic modification (PSM) offers a promising approach for tailoring the compositional, structural, and electronic properties of covalent organic frameworks (COFs), thereby enhancing their exciton dissociation ability and facilitating charge transfer. The effectiveness of these approaches is largely compromised by the harsh conditions, complexity, and alteration of the original structure. Therefore, developing a facile yet effective PSM for modulating COFs' properties without altering the original geometry and/or structure is a challenge.

Background: Colon cancer (CC) is one of the three most common cancers worldwide. In the treatment of CC, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) is one of the main components of chemotherapeutic combinations, but severe chemical resistance still occurs. In addition, endoplasmic reticulum (ER) oxidoreductase-1α (ERO1α) has been shown to be highly expressed in CC, but its specific molecular mechanisms remain unclear.

This study investigated how PYCR1 promotes BC progression through glycolysis, histone H3 Lysine 18 Lactylation (H3K18la), and Solute Carrier Family 6 Member 14 (SLC6A14)-driven glutamine catabolism. Here, BC cell lines were cultured under hypoxia to evaluate changes in PYCR1 expression, glycolysis, and lactate production.

Macrophages play a crucial role in innate immunity and are essential for resisting Plasmodium infection. However, the regulatory mechanisms of Plasmodium infection on macrophage function and subsequent effects on adaptive immune responses remain incompletely understood. In this study, we investigated the functional regulatory mechanism of macrophages during Plasmodium yoelii (P.

In this study, we evaluated the effects of the endophytic bacterium csuftcsp75 on soil properties, microbial communities, and functional metabolism in soils affected by shoot blight. Soil physicochemical analysis, carbon substrate utilization profiling (AWCD), and diversity indices (the Shannon, Simpson, and McIntosh indices) were integrated to assess the microbial responses under different inoculation treatments.

While most automated platforms operate under atmospheric conditions, many synthesis processes require ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) environments with stringent constraints. We present a self-driving synthetic platform that integrates robotics, automation, and machine learning to address the challenges of UHV-based materials synthesis.

Two actinobacterial strains, designated GXG3202 and GXG9306, were isolated from the rhizosphere soil of Avicennia marina in Beihai, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. Phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that both strains clustered in distinct subclades in the genus Isoptericola, sharing high sequence similarity with Isoptericola halotolerans YIM 70177 (98.8% and 97.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAstrocytes generally perform protective roles, such as the release of neurotrophic factors, glutamate metabolism, transfer of healthy mitochondria to neurons, and maintenance of the blood-brain barrier. Nonetheless, in the context of Parkinson's disease (PD), astrocytes may become dysfunctional, contributing to neurotoxicity, which is intricately linked to the etiological factors of PD. Intervening to prevent the conversion of astrocytes into neurotoxic phenotypes has demonstrated neuroprotective effects, potentially averting the degeneration of dopaminergic neurons and mitigating behavioral deficits in PD model mice.

Tendon stem/progenitor cells (TSPCs) are vital for tendon repair, with their stemness crucial to healing outcomes. This study investigated the role of CD248 in regulating TSPC stemness and assessed the therapeutic potential of si-CD248-loaded liposomes in promoting tendon-bone healing under osteoporotic conditions.

Ultralow-power non-volatile memristors are key elements in electronics. Generally, power reduction of memristors compromises data retention, a challenge known as the "power-retention dilemma," due to the stochastic formation of conductive dendrites in resistive-switching materials. Here, we report the results of conductive dendrite engineering in single-crystalline two-dimensional (2D) dielectrics in which directional control of filamentary distribution is possible.

Through detailed analysis of a unique case featuring co-occurring MSS/pMMR ascending colon adenocarcinoma and MSI-H/dMMR duodenal adenocarcinoma, this study demonstrates the successful implementation of multidisciplinary therapeutic protocols achieving 22-month progression-free survival post-radical resection. These clinical findings offer empirical evidence for optimizing clinical management while systematically addressing diagnostic complexities and treatment dilemmas inherent to synchronous dual primary intestinal carcinomas.

Background: This study aims to investigate the expression of Pentraxin 3 (PTX3) and Nod-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) in myocarditis and to elucidate their roles and potential interplay in the pathogenesis of myocarditis.
Methods: Immunofluorescence staining was performed on myocardial autopsy specimens from deceased patients with severe myocarditis or severe trauma. H9C2 cardiomyocytes were divided into five groups: Control, Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), LPS + PTX3 overexpression, LPS + small interfering RNA targeting PTX3 (si-PTX3), and LPS + PTX3 overexpression + si-NLRP3.
Background: Hydroquinone (HQ) and catechol (CC), two important isomers with similar structures, are highly toxic, often coexisting, and impeding each other in the simultaneous detection. Electrochemical technique provides a promising alternative toward the quantification of HQ and CC, due to its inherent advantages in terms of highly sensitive reaction, ease of monitoring, low-cost, simplicity and quick response. Development of a sensing material with outstanding electrocatalytic capabilities and its utilization for the fabrication of an electrochemical sensor for highly selective monitoring of HQ and CC is of great significance.

However, research related to seromuscular layer injury is limited. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the factors contributing to seromuscular layer injury following HIFU ablation of uterine fibroids, using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the evaluation tool.

However, limited by the complex tumor microenvironment, the abundant glutathione (GSH) and low reactive oxygen species (ROS) seriously weaken ferroptosis and the immune response. Herein, the authors report photothermal metal-phenolic networks (MPNs) supplied with buthionine sulfoximine (BSO) by reducing levels of GSH and then trapping the tumor cells in the ferroptosis and immunotherapy cascade loop to eliminate colorectal cancer (CRC).
