In continuation of our efforts to identify novel herbicide lead compounds, twenty new 5-(1-amino-4-phenoxybutylidene)barbituric acid derivatives containing an enamino diketone motif were synthesized and evaluated for their herbicidal activities. The greenhouse bioassay results indicated that several of the target compounds, including , , , , and , exhibited notable post-emergence herbicidal activity, with sum inhibition rates exceeding 70% at a dosage of 150 g ha, which was superior to that of the commercial herbicide flumiclorac-pentyl (FP). The structure-activity relationship analysis demonstrated that the steric and electronic effects of the R group, as well as the lipophilicity of the target compounds, significantly influenced herbicidal activity.

Accurate quantification of yeast sporulation efficiency is essential for genetic studies, but manual counting remains time-consuming and susceptible to subjective bias. Although deep learning tools like cellpose provide automated solutions, there exists a compelling need for alternative approaches that enable the quantification of spores. Our methodology employs ilastik's texture-feature optimization to reliably segment sporulating mother cells, intentionally avoiding explicit tetrad discrimination to ensure robustness across diverse spore morphologies.

Interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 4 (IRAK4) is a promising therapeutic target for inflammatory diseases. However, solely inhibiting IRAK4 kinase activity fails to fully block inflammatory signaling, resulting in limited efficacy. Herein, we describe the design and synthesis of novel IRAK4 degraders based on a proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) strategy.

Graph learning-based multi-modal integration and classification is one of the most challenging tasks for disease prediction. To effectively offset the negative impact among modalities in the process of multi-modal integration and heterogeneous information extractions from graphs, we propose a novel method called Multi-modal Multi-Kernel Graph Learning (MMKGL). To solve the problem of negative impact among modalities, we propose a multi-modal graph embedding module to construct a multi-modal graph.
