The expansion of floriculture has increased the need for sustainable floral waste management to support agricultural carbon neutrality. This study assessed the impact of carnation, lily, and rose straw amendments (with varying C/N ratios, lignin, and cellulose) on GHG emissions and soil quality with earthworm (Eisenia fetida). Controlled microcosm experiments were conducted to examine the effects of straw types and earthworms on CO and NO fluxes, as well as soil properties, enzyme activities, and microbial functions.

The coexistence of multimorbidity and geriatric syndromes is a big character and role target to manage for the clinic works in older age, but related theories still require innovation and exploration. The disease of sympathetic overdrive (DSO) is a new hypothesis, a disease full of characteristics of organics and emotion, multiple systems, and lifestyle illness. The hypothesis of DSO might be able to explain and improve the theory about the coexistence of multimorbidity and geriatric syndromes and even more!.

Here, we propose a feedback control system based on a three-layer long short-term memory network for real-time pointing jitter correction, which reduces the beam pointing jitter from 4.04 and 4.

This study aims to uncover the anti-tumor nature of plumbagin and the specific mechanism by which plumbagin alleviates NLRP3/caspase-1/GSDMD-induced pyroptosis.
Methods: Human CCA cells lines HuCCT1 and RBE and the CCA mouse model injected with HuCCT1 cells were used for the mechanism exploration.
This study investigates the role of lipid metabolism-related immune genes in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with a particular focus on the differences between Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and Lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). Utilizing data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), the research analyzed tumor samples from both LUSC and LUAD, identifying differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with lipid metabolism and immunity. The results revealed significant differences in gene expression between LUSC and LUAD, suggesting that lipid metabolism-related genes could play a crucial role in prognostic prediction and response to immunotherapy.

Studies have indicated a correlation between vitamin K2 levels and bone mass, but the specific mechanisms remain unclear. Therefore, this study aims to further elucidate the specific molecular mechanisms and related target proteins.

Methods: We selected several databases, including PubMed, PubMed Central (PMC), Embase, and Web of Science, as the primary sources for the search. Keywords closely related to the subject of this study, such as 'osteoporosis', 'vitamin A', 'vitamin D', 'vitamin E', 'Vitamin K', 'ferroptosis', 'osteoblast' and 'osteoclast', were used in the search.
The internal limiting membrane (ILM), which separates the vitreous from the retina, hinders the delivery of extracellular vesicles (EVs) to the fundus via intravitreal injection for retinoblastoma treatment. In addition, EVs need to traverse biological barriers and selectively target retinoblastoma cells. To address these challenges, we designed an electroactive microneedle (e-MN) device to actively propel macrophage- and retinoblastoma-derived chimeric EVs across the ILM and precisely localize them to tumor cells.

Methods: The medical records of 367 eligible patients diagnosed with HSCR were reviewed. According to the bowel function score (BFS), patients were divided into a normal bowel function group (200 cases, BFS > 17) and an abnormal bowel function group (167 cases, BFS ≤ 17), and the possible risk factors for poor bowel function were evaluated through univariate and multivariate analysis.

Objectives: To compare the efficacy of toric implantable collamer lens (Toric-ICL) and femtosecond laser-assisted keratomileusis (FS-LASIK) for myopia correction in patients with moderate to high myopia complicated with astigmatism.
Methods: We retrospectively collected data from 64 patients (aged 18-42 years) with moderate to high myopia complicated with astigmatism (128 eyes) undergoing either Toric-ICL (28 patients/56 eyes) or FS-LASIK (36 patients/72 eyes) at our department between January, 2019 and December, 2020. The changes of uncorrected distance visual acuity (UCVA), spherical equivalent (SE), mean astigmatism correction index (CI), corneal endothelial cell density (ECD) and intraocular pressure (IOP) following the procedures were compared between the two groups.
The three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of the coronary artery from angiographic images is crucial for diagnosing and treating coronary artery disease. However, accurate reconstruction is challenging due to the non-simultaneous acquisition of angiographic images and the complex motion patterns of coronary arteries. State-of-the-art methods typically involve a two-stage process: manual selection of corresponding point pairs for spatial geometric calibration, followed by centerline reconstruction.

However, the synergistic defense mechanism involving oxidative stress and mucus metabolism in earthworms under cadmium (Cd) stress remains poorly understood, limiting insights into soil animal adaptation strategies. This study employed the earthworm 'Eisenia fetida' as a model organism.

The structural characteristics of these FeO particles and their effects on the high-temperature thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP) and the combustion performance of AP/aluminum (Al) composite fuels were analyzed with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), surface area analysis, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and high-speed imaging. The results indicate that at a pH of 8, the synthesized nanoparticles comprise bulk and fibrous particles with an average particle size of approximately 70 nm, exhibiting some degrees of agglomeration.

Earthworms, as large soil animals, play a crucial role in soil ecological functions. We investigated the spatial distribution characteristics of earthworms by collecting 1984 earthworm individuals from six climatic zones in Yunnan Province. The results showed that and were the dominant earthworm species in Yunnan Province.

Design And Methods: 260 patients with ipICA stenosis ≥ 70%, 120 patients with ipsilateral OIS, and 140 with normal ocular condition. The logistic regression analysis was conducted to establish risk prediction models of OIS/Neovascular-OIS/Chronic-OIS for patients with ipICA-SO.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder characterized by persistent inflammation, joint swelling, pain, and progressive joint destruction. Methotrexate (MTX) is the standard first-line treatment for RA, but its clinical application is hindered by poor water solubility and non-specific delivery. In this work, a multifunctional drug-delivery nanoplatform that targets both macrophages and tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) is developed to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of MTX in RA.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a prototypical autoimmune disease characterized by excessive production of type I interferons (IFNs) and autoantibodies with limited effective clinical treatments. Solute carrier family 15 member 4 (SLC15A4), a proton-coupled oligopeptide transporter, facilitates the transmembrane transport of L-histidine and some di- and tripeptides from the lysosome to the cytosol. A growing body of evidence has elucidated the critical role of SLC15A4 in pathogenesis and disease progression of SLE.

In the pursuit of high-performance organic electrochromic (OEC) materials that transition from transparent to deep colors, we design and synthesize a series of copolymers─termed MeTPhF─composed of TPA and fluorene with triethylene glycol and ester groups incorporated. This is achieved through gradient tuning of monomer ratios via Suzuki copolymerization. Five of these polymers exhibit excellent film-forming properties, and their electrochromic devices demonstrate remarkable pale blue-to-reddish brown switching behavior.

Melanocytes are essential for regulating pigmentation and providing photoprotection in human skin. Originating from neural crest cells, these cells migrate to the basal layer of the epidermis and hair follicles during embryogenesis. Melanosomes, the specialized, membrane-bound organelles are essential for melanin synthesis.
