Postpartum depression is a mood disorder characterized by feelings of sadness, hopelessness, fatigue, and anxiety that persist beyond the typical "baby blues" period. This study examines the prevalence of puerperal depression and its associated obstetric factors. A total of 208 mothers who delivered in the obstetrics department of this hospital from January 2020 to December 2023 were followed up during the puerperium in this retrospective cohort study.

Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBPs) have a broad spectrum of biological activities, such as immune modulation and the ability to reduce blood glucose and lipid levels. However, whether they modulate the gut microbiota and metabolites to exert their anti-inflammatory effects remains to be explored.

To explore this, we collected multi-omics data-including genome, transcriptome, and tumour microbiome data-from a wide range of cancer types in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Through a pan-cancer analysis, we identified significant correlations between intratumoral microbiota diversity and TP53 mutation status, particularly in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and endometrial cancer (EC).

To construct stress-responsive promoters, we mined the transcriptome data of the industrial strain A223 under stress. The transcription factor CIN5 showed significantly increased expression under stress but exhibited limited resistance. Further analysis of CIN5-interacting genes revealed that the binding motif "TTACGTAATC" (named CIN5BS) of CIN5 displayed transcription-enhancing activity.

This study investigates the decoupling effect and the spatial-temporal dynamics of energy use and economic development across 282 prefecture-level cities in China from 2006 to 2021, employing the Tapio decoupling model. To thoroughly assess the factors influencing energy decoupling, a geographically weighted Durbin model was constructed based on an extended STIRPAT model.

This study incorporates the concepts of social connection and work engagement. By considering the potential heterogeneity of variables and applying a mediation model, we identified the influence pathways through which subgroups of perceived stress affect social connection and work engagement.

Brain gliomas, particularly glioblastoma (GBM), are a category of brain tumors that are challenging to treat and characterized by low survival rates. Despite improvements in existing treatment options, challenges such as drug resistance, tumor heterogeneity, and the impediment of the blood-brain barrier to effective drug delivery remain prevalent. In recent years, natural polysaccharide polymers have attracted increasing interest in the treatment of GBM owing to their biocompatibility and potential for targeted delivery.

Patients with pulmonary GGNs from 8 centers were enrolled to identify biomarkers for malignancy and benignity discrimination, and an integrated biomarker panel comprising two miRNA, one long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), and one circular RNA (cirRNA) identified by multivariate logistic regression analysis were established. The classifier had area under the receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) of 0.

However, there are relatively few reports on their effects on intestinal microbiota. In this study, we investigated the components, total antioxidant capacity of postbiotics () and their impact on intestinal flora using the Simulator for Human Intestinal Microecology Simulation (SHIME).

Wild soybean (Glycine soja) germplasm offers valuable genetic resources for developing SCN-resistant cultivars. Here, we present a telomere-to-telomere assembly of the wild soybean Glycine soja accession YSD56, which is resistant to the highly virulent SCN race X12.

Electrochemical synthesis of urea from CO and nitrate offers a sustainable pathway to address both carbon emissions and nitrogen pollution. However, achieving high C-N coupling selectivity remains challenging due to competing hydrogen evolution reactions and insufficient CO utilization. Herein, we implement a nanopore-structure engineering strategy to precisely tailor pore length and surface chemistry in metal-free porous carbon frameworks.

Propolis, a natural bee product widely used as a functional food and dietary supplement, exhibited diverse bioactivities in vitro and in vivo, including clinical trials. Recent evidence suggests that propolis can reshape gut microbial communities by influencing both probiotic and pathogenic bacteria, highlighting its potential to improve gut health and overall well-being through dietary interventions.

Mammalian cyclic GMP-AMP synthetase (cGAS) exerts a pivotal role in innate immune response to viral infection by detecting viral DNA and activating the cGAS-STING pathway, which triggers type I interferon (IFN-I) production. Although cGAS has been widely investigated in mammals, its function in lower vertebrates, especially in teleost fish, remains poorly understood. Herein, a cGAS homolog (termed c-cGAS) in common carp was identified and functionally characterized to explore its involvement in immune activation and viral response.

Immunotherapy has only limited efficacy against ovarian cancer because of dysfunctional T cells in an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Selective photothermolysis is a technique in which short pulsed laser is used to ablate tissue in targeted regions in a precise spatiotemporally controlled manner. This technique allows targeted tissue ablation without damage to surrounding tissue.

Using quantum chemical calculations, we systematically investigate the ultrafast spin dynamics in a rhombic graphene nanoflake substitutionally doped with a Co atom (Co/GNF). We put particular emphasis on the position dependence of spin-flip processes. Our calculations reveal that when the Co dopant is placed near the zigzag boundary (N-type), spin-flip processes can be accomplished within 0.

Background: Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA), high tibial osteotomy (HTO), and distal femoral osteotomy (DFO) are common knee-preserving surgeries for knee osteoarthritis (KOA), yet systematic comparisons of their effects on lower limb biomechanical parameters remain limited.
Objective: To retrospectively evaluate and compare the impacts of UKA, HTO, and DFO on hip-knee-ankle alignment in KOA patients, providing evidence for personalized surgical strategy formulation. We hypothesized that these procedures would exert differential effects on specific alignment parameters.
Background: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is a multifaceted clinical condition that comprises nearly 50% of all heart failure cases, making it a significant clinical challenge. Qishen granule (QSG) is a promising traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment that shows cardioprotective potential against chronic heart failure, as evidenced in previous studies. This trial intends to perform a prospective clinical study to observe the efficacy and safety of QSG on HFpEF.
