Existing studies have shown that placing 3D-printed lattices in cement matrices can effectively improve the ductility of cement-based composites. However, the influence of thermal fatigue effect on the mechanical properties of 3D-printed lattice-reinforced cement-based composites during service remains to be studied. In this paper, cement-based materials without lattices were used as the control group, and the uniaxial compressive mechanical properties of 3D-printed lattice-reinforced cement-based composites after thermal fatigue treatment under a temperature difference of 60 °C were tested.

With the growing demand for self-powered sensing in wireless sensor networks and IoT applications, vibration energy harvesting has become a key solution for sustainable power generation. This study proposes a multidirectional piezoelectric-electromagnetic vibration energy harvester capable of capturing energy from multiple directions (MD-PEVEH). The MD-PEVEH adopts a pendulum structure to improve the multidirectional adaptability of the harvester and also integrates an electromagnetic module and a piezoelectric module.

Pyroptosis is one of the major forms of cardiomyocyte death following ischemia/reperfusion (I/R). Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma translocation protein 1 (MALT1)/Tumor necrosis factor receptor associated factor 6 (TRAF6) pathway is involved in cardiomyocyte pyroptosis in mouse heart following I/R, and telaprevir, a hepatitis C virus protease inhibitor, has been predicted as a potential inhibitor of MALT1. This study aims to explore the effect of telaprevir on I/R-induced cardiomyocyte pyroptosis.

Background: This study aims to investigate a safer and more minimally invasive method for transferring the contralateral C7 nerve in the treatment of central spastic paralysis of the upper limb, while also providing anatomic data to support this approach.
Methods: Eight anatomic specimens from the head and neck were utilized: 4 dry specimens were used to measure anatomic data, whereas the other 4 fresh specimens were used to simulate the transposition of the contralateral C7 nerve for observing bilateral nerve anastomosis. Relevant anatomic landmarks and their surrounding relationships were examined using a neuroendoscope, and anatomic data were subsequently measured and analyzed.
The evolution of SARS-CoV-2, particularly the emergence of Omicron variants, has raised questions regarding changes in its binding affinity to the human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 receptor (hACE2). Understanding the impact of mutations on the interaction between the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the spike protein and hACE2 is critical for evaluating viral transmissibility, immune evasion, and the efficacy of therapeutic strategies. Here, we used molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and binding energy calculations to investigate the structural and energetic differences between the hACE2- RBD complexes of wild-type (WT), Delta, and Omicron subvariants.

Beyond the local pathological processes, PF can be better understood in light of interorgan communication networks that are involved in its progression. Notably, pulmonary inflammation can affect cardiovascular, renal, hepatic, and neural functions, highlighting the importance of understanding these systemic interactions.

Currently, research has confirmed the significant potential of 3D printed polymer lattices in enhancing the mechanical properties of cement-based composites. Polymer materials are influenced by high-temperature environments. This study aims to further explore the impact of 3D printed lattice structures on the compressive mechanical properties of cement-based materials under high-temperature conditions.

Methods: Resting-state MRI was used to measure FC changes between the brainstem ARAS nuclei and whole-brain voxels. We compared the differences in FC between sTBI patients and healthy controls, as well as between the wake and DOC groups.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a persistent mental illness caused by severe traumatic events, and its pathogenesis is still unclear. Recent studies indicate that p75 neurotrophic factor receptor (p75NTR) plays a crucial role in neurological diseases, but the role of p75NTR in PTSD is currently unknown. To investigate the effects and mechanisms of p75NTR in PTSD, in this study, a functional p75NTR-deficient mouse was used to establish a PTSD model by single prolonged stress (SPS) paradigm, then the behavioral effects and underlying mechanisms were further investigated.

Menaquinone-7 (MK-7) is recognized for its important biological activity, and is the preferred strain for its fermentative production. However, the limited phenotypic diversity among high-yielding strains complicates the development of rapid screening methods. To address this, we utilized the effect of MK-7 on transmembrane potential to develop a high-throughput screening (HTS) strategy for efficiently identifying strains with improved MK-7 production.

Anticoagulation is critical in CKRT to prevent filter clotting, with regional citrate anticoagulation (RCA) being the first-line method. However, the hypercoagulable state of NS may require alternative strategies.

Due to the uncertainty of material properties of plate-like structures, many traditional methods are unable to locate the impact source on their surface in real time. It is important to study the impact source-localization problem for plate structures. In this paper, a data-driven machine learning method is proposed to detect impact sources in plate-like structures and its effectiveness is tested on three plate-like structures with different material properties.

Synaptic plasticity is the basis for the proper functioning of the central nervous system. Synapses are the contact points between neurons and are crucial for information transmission, the structure and function of synapses change adaptively based on the different activities of neurons, thus affecting processes such as learning, memory, and neural development and repair. Synaptic activity requires a large amount of energy provided by mitochondria.

However, much of the current research on ion preintercalation lacks controllability, and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we employ a two-step electrochemical activation approach, involving galvanostatic charge-discharge and cyclic voltammetry, to modulate the preintercalation of NH in MnO.
